I have had several gum grafts done by Dr. Arima. I read the other reviews and there is truth there. But let’s start with level of care and professionalism: 5 stars, without reservation. Competent staff, both chairside and front office: 5 stars. Overall rating: 5 stars. Dr. Arima is direct in telling you what you need to do to take care of your gums and teeth. That’s what you want, right? Highly recommended.

dr. arima is very thorough and i never felt rushed during my appointment — for some reason though, i couldnt shake the feeling that he was making judgement on me. probably my issue because he isnt very demonstrative or emotional. anyway, i ended up using another periodontist for my needs who had a better bed side manner. also, dr. arima does not make any allowances or discounts for patients without dental insurance and the other dr. did — and periodontal work is very expensive.

I was recommended to Dr. Arima from my dentist since I needed to get a gum graft (for the grafting experience, PM me and I will gladly share).
Throughout the whole process, from my consultation to the actual day of grafting, Dr. Arima was excellent. He was patient, answered all my questions, and made sure I was comfortable at all times. I was nervous going in but he and his wife (Judy, very nice lady who works at the front desk) made me believe everything would be fine.
What I probably like best is the trust factor that is there with this doctor. I feel like I can ask him anything and everything and he will answer in a genuine, professional manner. After I came home from the procedure, I called his office again to ask some more questions and he even gave me his personal number to make sure he was available over the weekend if I were to have any urgent matters. I don’t know any doctor who has done that before.

He is a firm, but fair kind of dentist and honest. You have to love his tough love. «Why are you a mouth breather.» I do not know I sore hahaha. You have to get over his sacrism too. The front desk is very nice too I really liked him as my periodonist as my gums do not bleed as it used too. He did a really great job on my surgery as well

I have been using Dr. Arima for a number of years for gum problems. I was referred to him by Los Alamitos Dental Care Center Dr Gary Prinz. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and will tell you the truth. He communicates well and that is very refreshing. His office is up stairs and the waiting room is kinda small. The receptionists are very well versed and will notify you in ADVANCE when your appointment is due. Most credit cards are accepted as well as dental insurance. Glenn will work with you on keeping costs under control.

Dr. Arima is a periodontist. Don’t ask me exactly what that is, but know that Dr. Arima is great. I got referred here by my awesome dentist (
) to get some excess gum tissue surgically removed. What blows me away about Dr. Arima is that the first time I saw him, he looked very closely at my medical record and asked me about it in detail. In particular, he asked about a kidney incident I had mentioned on my form and asked me what the status of it was. I said I didn’t really know because my medical care was pretty inadequate and no one had looked at it since 1999. He said he didn’t want to do surgery on me without knowing how it would affect my overall medical condition, etc. So get this, because of my DENTIST (periodontist, actually), I finally got my HMO to refer me to a specialist! So in essence, my periodontist gives me better medical care and pays more attention to my overall health than any of my medical doctors. Anyway, so I finally got all that taken care of and went in for my surgery. Everything went smoothly and Dr. Arima and his staff took care of everything very efficiently. I also really like Dr. Arima’s manner, he’s very straightforward and easy to talk to. I highly recommend him, should you ever have need for a periodontist.
