Some of the BEST Burgers I’ve ever had ! Very small outside eating, but drive through is pretty quick. Employees always have great and positive attitudes and makes for an awesome experience!

Reminds me of burger joints from years ago where the food is actually made when ordered not heated in a microwave in a plastic bag… Not the fastest moving drive thru line sometimes but I assume that’s because everything is being freshly prepared. Try the Taco Burger… mmmmmm! Only complaint… drive thru speaker sucks…

Came with a friend of mine who has been coming here for years. She told me and I quote,“their seasoned fries combined with ranch is amazing.” Those words ended up being prophetic because it is to die for! The seating is an outdoor covered patio which and parking is a bit tight. More reason because the drive thru contributes to that. My first visit consisted of ordering the Volcano Burger and I hope my next visit will get me to order the Colossal Burger or the Lava Burger. Not that the Volcano Burger isn’t great but I was expecting more from a burger named after the establishment. Hence my 4 star rating. Other than that I tried some of the chili cheese fries and WOW are they amazing!

Omg, talk about Childhood Memories, My first bite into a Volcano Burger and I dont know how long maybe 10 – 15 years, omg the first bite brought me to so many memories, burgers are delicious as i remembered, original location was in Long Beach, but they must have relocated to Los Alamitos, Chill cheese fries are delicious, and banana shake are delicious and thick, a little to thick maybe, I had to let my sit for awhile so it could melt, but besides that I will definitely will be coming to Volcanos ! Definitely worth the trip !

I dropped by here for the second time recently. However, this time I remembered to take pics before I ate my food. Volcano is an old skool ¼ lb burger place on Cerritos near Los Alamitos, across from Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos. Five of us ordered, a double bacon cheese burger, bacon burger($ 4.29), cheeseburger, Jr cheeseburger, pastrami sandwich($ 8.29), two orders of onion rings($ 4.29/each), two orders of fries, and two banana shakes($ 3.69). Not all items are pictured, and I forgot how much everything costs, but the entire order was $ 47 inc tax. My bacon burger was very good. The patty was big enough to fill me up, along with some rings and fries. In addition, it was nice to go to a place that offers a bacon burger vs In-N-Out: 4 Stars. Secondarily, the portion of rings and fries were similar to The Hat: Very big! Five of us could not finish the sides, and 4 of us are very big eaters. The only downsides were the rings could have been seasoned more, and the fries could have been crispier: 4 Stars. Lastly, the shakes were also really good. Its nice to see a place that offers real ice cream shakes, in flavors other than vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. The shakes were good sized at 16 oz: 4 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, it is old skool as it gets. The place has prolly been opened since the 60’s, and the drive thru is indicative of that. My friend’s full size SUV, was barely large enough to maneuver thru the exit: 4 Stars. On the other hand, the service was excellent. Despite having to wait a long time in the drive thru, the cashier(and prolly the owner), was super nice, thanked us for biz, and asked us to come back again. How often to you get that kinda farewell from your chain place that costs just as much?: 5 Stars. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but if you are in the area, I’d rather hit Volcano vs In-N-Out(and I am a big In-N-Out fan). In addition, Volcano is better than recent entrants Five Guys and The Habit. Their burgers are very good, their portions are large, and they have banana shakes! What a nice trifecta!!!

This is THE burger joint in Los Alamitos. It’s a classic spot that has good quality, old-fashioned burgers and fries. My recommendations: Bacon-Cheeseburger(It’s HUGE and will leave you satisfied) Chilli Cheese Fries(Some of the absolute best I’ve tried. The chilli has the right amount of spicy kick and they put raw diced onions right on top of it all!) Last, but definitely not least, are the zucchini fries. If you order anything at all from Volcano, make it these. Their zucchini fries are THEBEST I’ve ever had to this day. There is no competition. They are perfectly fried and massive. The portions they give you for the price is ridiculous. It also comes with a side of ranch as well which compliments the fries so well.

I go in spurts using Unilocal. So this is my first review in quite a while. But i do feel this place deserves a little review. Good burger. Good price. Clean place. Friendly employees. What more do you need to know?

One of the wonderful things about SoCal is that we have loads of burger places… everything from sit-down restaurants, to national chains, to mom-and-pop stands. When it comes to fast food and mom-and-pop stands, some of us are lucky enough to live near Volcano Burger. Volcano Burger has been in their Los Alamitos location for many years, almost 40 that I’m aware of. And in those years, they’ve stuck with a winning formula for what are hands down some of the best burgers in OC. Start with a decent sized and well seasoned meat patty, fresh buns, fresh chopped lettuce, onions, and tomatoes, add some sauce, and these burgers stand up against any of the more well-known national chains. And the value for the food is just awesome. For a shade over $ 7, you can get the hamburger combo which comes with a generous side of fresh cooked fries… the thick kind, not the wimpy skinny ones, and a soda. I drive out of my way to make periodic stops here. One note: Volcano Burger is located across the street from Los Alamitos high school. If you are thinking about stopping by for lunch on a school day, you may want to avoid from noon to 12:45. This is when the high shoolers are out for lunch, and let’s just say the Volcano Burger can get a bit busy.

Literally, ehhhh. I come here all the time, because it is one of the most convenient places to eat near my school. I have spent much more money for sub par food her than can ever be justified, at the expense of pleasing my friends’ dietary preferences. First, I must commend the staff for their stamina, working within inches of each other in a narrow room that must be 90 degrees. Understandably, this causes them to be a lil rude now and then. They are just a little too comfortable with barking at their customers. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a friendly, customer service oriented attitude is worth an extra star on Unilocal. Which they won’t be receiving;) Anyways, food, righht? Yep. Food. Greasy food that leaves me overstuffed each time I patronize volcano burger. But somehow, it draws me back every time. Try the chicken quesadilla or the gyro. They are pretty good! btw water is $.25 if it means anything to ya

I would like to thank Volcano Burgers for one simple reason. Yet, before jumping into that I would like to say that their customer service skills need some improvement. Did your parents ever tell you to finish what’s in your mouth first before stuffing your mouth with another gigantic bite? Well, my mom did tell me that. I grew up and left the skill and desire to stuff my mouth and keep my lips closed despite the uncomfortable pressure of the food against them. As a grown woman, I have learned some eating etiquette such as, but not restricted to: No mouth stuffing, no licking fingers after finishing(or in the midst), no elbows on table, chewing slowly on each bite etc., but today was different. I have to say I was happy that I took my fish burger home because that was the key to unleashing the kid in me again. I was stuffing food into my mouth(mom wasn‘t around to discipline me), I was licking my fingers right after each bite, and I ate fast enough that I almost chocked on each bite. Their fish burger was that delicious. Delicious enough to make me feel like a kid again. Seriously, I don‘t remember the last time I had such a good fish burger! So, thank you guys once again and I am back to the harsh reality of being a grown up woman! my review went from 4 stars to 3 stars mainly becaude of their customer service. I was thinking of giving them a 2 star, but their food is decent! There is so much room for improvement I think!

Great little gem. Friendly, hard working staff. I tried their pastrami with a side of fried zucchini. The pastrami sandwich was tasty, they cut it themselves and it’s never frozen. Good portion, stacked high. Salty, soft chewy goodness. I asked for extra pickles but still could’ve used more pickles. They have an extensive menu which is pretty typical of burger joints in socal. Creative burgers to Mexican fare, sandwiches and fried goods. I want to try their signature next time, the volcano burger –it’s made with jalapeños :) Their fried zucchini was not that good. Good portions but I barely ate 4 or 5 of them. Needed more seasoning. DONOTCOME between the hours of 11:45am and 12:28pm –trust me.

I normally don’t drive out here but sometimes work errands send me to most random cities and guess what… I get to take a lunch break in interesting, undiscovered gems~ Score! I drove by this joint and honestly it was the name that caught my attention. Dropped off the work load around noon and drove straight back to Volcano Burgers. It’s located right across the Los Alamitos High School, which equals GOLD to me. I feel that in my past career as a school kid for 17 years, food joints right near a school are especially delicious. Because they actually cater to hungry kids, and sure we would eat anything cheap, but if it’s not delicious, we probably won’t return and not recommend it to our friends. I was absolutely correct. I had the Classic Volcano Burger… it was HUGE for the $ 2,99 price. YESTHAT“S RIGHT… $ 3 for a tasty, large cheeseburger. I also ordered a Lava Burger w/Jalapeño — to die for. And I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger because BACON that’s why! NO I DIDNOTWAT3LARGEBURGERSALONE… I took them to go back to LA and shared them all with two other friends. They were astonished and we agreed it was worth the price and the trip. The menu is very old school on print and also posted on top of the actual grills, ordering is done outside at the window and seating is available outside. I dig the diner vibes. I hope work sends me out to Cerritos sometime soon :)

VB is right next door to our son’s swim center, so after having three separate swim parents tell me that this place was legit, I had to take it for a test drive. On the advice of the reviews, I knew I had to order the chili cheese fries and the zucchini fries. We also decided on a junior bacon cheeseburger for the kidlet, and a regular bacon cheeseburger for myself. The restaurant is small, and the kitchen/order/pick-up window are on the front side facing the street. There is only outdoor, covered seating on the right side of the order windows, and there is a drive-thru option as well. You order at the window on the left, then pick up at the window on the right. The staff was very friendly — the nice man helping us saw that I had a little one with me and asked if he could give him a lollipop(what a nice gesture, and I appreciated that he asked me first!). This made my son very happy. Placed our order and then stood to the side to wait. There was one family ahead of us, and a steady stream of cars in the drive through, but we only waited maybe 8 minutes until our number was called. Took our order to-go and that car ride home was agonizing with the delicious aromas coming from our food. After opening our order at home I was pleased to discover they made our order exactly right(jr burger had ketchup only, mine had spread, tomato and onion only, and the chili cheese fries had onion added). I can’t tell you how many times fast food places don’t get your order correct. But these guys were fast, efficient, and accurate! The food was still piping hot and delicious. The zucchini fries were thin cut(I prefer thin cut zf over thick as the thicker ones never seem cooked through enough), super crunchy and were delicious with the ranch sauce provided, and, they give you a hefty serving. The chili cheese fries were great — hot, fresh, good chili-cheese-onion-french fry ratio. The chili also had a slight kick which I enjoyed. The burgers were also good — my only minor issue was that the meat patty is super thin which results in a dry patty. That said, it still tasted great and my son devoured his. Overall, this place was great: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Excellent service, solid food, and generous portions with the added convenience of being next door to our swim school. We will be back to try more of VB’s offerings.

The seasoned fries here are the best. Always always try it with ranch. That’s what I always get when I’m not hungry enough for a whole meal. But if I am. I go for the chilly cheese fries. I have tried it in many different places. But none of them compare to volcano. There’s no real indoor seating but there’s a covered patio outside. Parking is kinda hard sometimes because the place is so small and the spots are pretty tight. But it is worth it. I’d suggest trying to go through the drive through. It usually is pretty fast. This place really proves that the small can be mighty.

Warning! Debit Card Fee Charger!!! ($.65 if used! Dated business practices! Tommy’s even stopped this cheap practice!!) Tried the Volcano burger. It tasted okay, was NOT impressed by the Very Thin Beef Patty! They threw on jalapeños for the heat, okay, but not all that creative. The fries needed better seasoning than the small amount of salt they put on. You must also order Ala Carte, so it costs your customer more. :( Clean place, not worth going out of your way for. WAYOVER-HYPED on Unilocal! Would not recommend this place.

I visited this place one day after church. It was early afternoon and I had dinner plans that evening so I didn’t want to get too full. I was super hungry and didn’t have enough time nor patience to research Unilocal for great places. This one came up on the top of my search list. It had decent ratings and was fairly close. Driving to this location, the parking is quite small. If you come during lunch rush or any other time where many people get hungry at the same time, parking can be confusing. There’s one driveway that accomadates both entrance and exit. I ordered the mushroom burger and fries. It was decent. The meat was moist enough, the mushrooms gave the burger flavor and the fries were good. Nothing else spectacular about it. It satisfied my hunger and I didn’t leave thinking, «that was a waste of calories.» *review #15/365 for 2015
