I woke up on a Saturday morning with blinding pain from my neck, shoulder, and back. You ever tweak a nerve so that walking, sitting, even turning your head causes pain to shoot around your body? I probably wouldn’t have tried to get out of bed that day, except that laying still was pretty painful too.
Dr. Rupert had good reviews on some healthcare web sites, and she was willing to see me on short notice that day. When I went to see her, she recognized the symptoms before I even opened my mouth. She worked on the muscles and alignment that day, and gave me some vitamins and some cream that got me through the day. She not only treated the pain, but over the next visit or two (after x-​rays) she showed me the cause of the pain in a way that helped me to adjust my daily routines to stop aggravating my neck. Since then, she’s treated me for issues in my back, knees, and toes. Any time I have joint pain, or a muscle issue, she is a key resource.
I have to admit, my impression of chiropractors before I met Dr. Rupert involved forceful «cracking» of the joints, and that was the last thing I wanted, especially for my neck. Fortunately, that’s not Dr. Rupert’s approach, relying instead on tables and equipment that provide very measured and predictable drops and adjustment. Her real skill is probably her understanding of how the body works. For example, sometimes I don’t even need to tell her what’s ailing, because she can tell from watching me walk or stand. She seems to have exhaustive knowledge of physiology, nutrition and physical therapy. Beyond her Ph. D and multiple degrees, she is often telling me about medical conferences she has been attending or books she has been reading in her field.
In short, I’ve found Patricia Rupert to be very knowledgeable and effective, and I highly recommend her.

Be warned she is very expensive! She charged me a comparable rate to a visit with a cardiac or neuro surgeon! Keep in mind that surgeons charge these high fees because they need 16 – 20 yrs of training and very expensive malpractice insurance. She does have a unique combination of training but not to necessitate her charges, in my opinion. However, she was quite pleasant and professional.
