Art has framed about 7 pieces for me, from paintings to custom prints. Each one was done perfectly, and Art is a total joy to deal with. All the framing shops near me in Los Feliz were at least double the price, and I like supporting a local business and guy who grew up in this area. One note on the timing of things — I’ve never been in a rush for any of my jobs, so can’t speak to that, but if you give him a week or two, and call to check in first, you’ll be good to go, get a beautiful frame, and save a ton versus fancier shops or chains.

Small shop with a pleasant owner, who is the only worker and handles the entire workload. As someone who knew nothing about framing(this is the first time I’ve ever gotten something framed), he was more than happy to run me through the materials and price points he had available. I was very pleased with my overall experience, and my poster looks great in its new frame! I would support this small business as opposed to taking my works to somewhere like Blick any day.

They told me it would take a week for them to frame a hand drawn poster. It was a very simple job should have taken a week noting hard. I called 3 times over 3 weeks and they would say they were busy and would call me back they never did. I had to go into the store and ask for my poster back because they would not be able to tell me when they would be done. I’m taking my poster to Quick Art Frame in West Hollywood they have done other painting and done a great job.

I don’t know what it is about frame places or maybe i just have horrible luck. but seriously. I want to give this place a good review because Art is sweet and the vibe is charming but seeing as he seems to have moved into a bigger space, he’s probably doing okay and I can put in my two cents. If you need to get your kids high school diploma, some movie poster, anything NOT fine art related framed, then this place is probably fine. The prices are pretty fair… i’ve gotten stuff framed here twice before and the first time was ok but the second time was awful. It was a small 8×12 photograph that required a white frame, no matte. It took a lot longer than it should have(about 2 weeks when they said 1 week) and when I came in the new assistant couldn’t find my order. After some time she finally did and the framing job was very amateur: edges were not symmetrical and the corners had giant lines going through them that didn’t properly line up. This was a print I sold to someone and it was so bad I had to throw it away, reprint it and send her just the print at a lower price because I had already wasted so much time getting it framed. In the end it cost me something like $ 40 and it was a waste of $ and time. I nearly lost money on selling her this photo. BUT i hope he keeps getting business from non-fine art framing jobs and if he wants to continue to frame fine art then hopefully this review is helpful in letting him know where he could improve.

The owner worked with me to get the frames I wanted done exactly the way I asked, but was also very helpful when talking to him about specifics are far as figuring out frame sizes and colors. He also has really great prices. That, combined with his expertise made this a great experience. You can tell he really takes pride in his work and it shows. Will be coming back and recommending to friends.

a framing place run by a guy named Art? obviously a winner. i’d bought a large print(45×30) on canvas that i wanted to get stretched onto stretcher bars, for hanging without a frame. i called a few places, but Art gave me a much better estimate than the others i tried. the parking lot is in back, and the place is essentially a little house that you enter via the back door. may seem a little sketchy to some people, but the place is like a cluttered creative workshop inside, and Art was friendly and knowledgeable(offering some specific recommendations for the type of wood and supports to use, etc). the job took longer than i expected, and cost very slightly more than quoted, but also came in looking better than i expected. the canvas had white on the sides of the stretcher bars, but he’d done a very clean job masking the edges with black tape; i hadn’t asked for it but it looks much better than i’d hoped. would definitely return; i definitely prefer supporting this small business — and waiting a few extra days for a job done creatively — to spending twice as much at a corporate giant.

Nice little shop with a very friendly owner! The prices are very reasonable, and they did a great job with my frame! Highly recommend them. If you’re in a rush, however, this may not be the place for you.

Extremely unprofessional. It took 3 visits to the store after the pick up date to get it correct and get my piece back — wrong frame and haphazard job. Maybe because I had a small piece, it didnt have much precedence. Regardless, it was extremely inconvenient and a waste of my time to have to make so many trips to this store. The store itself is very no thrills.(and on my last visit, there were a lot of flies inside…)

Another unpretentious, very reasonably priced and very personable framer in the Silver Lake-Los Feliz neighborhood — people, you don’t need to go to Aaron Bros. Art framed two 10×16 prints for me for a little more than half($ 265) the price I’d paid at Aaron Bros for a 16×20($ 452). And that included rustic frames that fit the images, museum glass, backing, hanging wire, and of course acid-free everything. He loves to talk, has a pleasantly messy shop, is a little disorganized(or was that day) — his credit card machine wasn’t working so he scribbled down my CC number on a piece of paper, and I didn’t get an invoice stating the price he promised — but the price I paid was the price he promised, and today he sent me an invoice and the CC receipt in the mail. He had the prints ready for me in about a week, which is extraordinary. Even my other two small favorite frame shops had a 2−3-week wait. And though he said he’d only been in business four years, I couldn’t tell any difference between his work and Aaron Bros. or the other two excellent shops I was trying out. I thought that I’d probably find only one of the three was a keeper, but instead I’m keeping all three! These small businesses made me feel I could actually trust picture framers again, since I’d begun to associate them with plumbers and car mechanics. The difference between them and Aaron Bros. was like night and day. Thanks Unilocal!Because I found all three of them here. All three are 5-Star. And thanks, Art!

Art is awesome! I am extremely picky when it comes to framing, and Art is the kind of guy who will go out of his way to get it done correctly and for the best price he can. His prices are quite competitive, and the turnaround time is great. I am so happy to have finally found a framer in LA!

I couldn’t be happier with the service Art provided. Our one of a kind piece looks so good in the frame Art made for us. I would highly recommend Art and his place, the quality of work for the price is the best value around!

I can’t say enough good things about Art and 4A Frame! He is a pleasure to work with, gave me some great advice on choosing a mat that would really highlight my posters, and even removed a footprint somebody had left on one of them before I rescued it! The posters look fantastic now, and the price was extremely reasonable. Just a pleasure from start to finish. Note that parking is around the back – enter from Santa Monica, by a bar called the Virgil.

Art is really friendly and passionate about what he does. He is very helpful to pick out a frame that will look great. He was upfront about pricing and didn’t pressure me to buy more expensive frames/matting/different types of glass. I have had several pieces framed by Art and they all look great. I’ll be back soon with my next piece to be framed by Art.

I feel so lucky that this great small business is right in my neighborhood. I have consistently taken projects to Art over the last few years and he has always provided excellent service, pricing, and results. Everyone knows quality custom framing is not cheap, but he always works with me to get a deal that beats any other framing shop by miles. No pressure, no upsell, just good honest work that will keep me coming back! I’ve taken large posters, smaller and medium art prints, with and without matting, and I get compliments on all of them when people see the finished product hanging in my apt. Thanks Art, 4A Frames is a true gem!

Forget those fancy places and get your photos framed by Art, who will do an amazing job, charge you a reasonable price, and tell about his past life as a UPS deliveryman. I love this place.

Art was wonderful! His pricing is amazing for custom framing, and his work is awesome. He works with you to make sure that your vision matches the final product. His attention to detail is what really stands out. We have a map that needs to be occasionally removed from the frame, and he went out of his way to make sure that when we do that, it is simple and easy. I would recommend Art to any friends who are looking for framing to be done. There is also free parking in the back, so you dont have to bother with street parking. Another thing worth pointing out, the one star review below was written for the business next door and not for the framing store.

so im an actor and have very limited budget for framing in my life. BUT for my husbands birthday i wanted to frame a really important signed vintage poster. i live in silverlake and always pass by this place. im always like hmmm i wonder if they are expensive. being that i called like 10 other places and asked for quotes and they were ridic, i said why not lemme just walk in and see what it would cost. so i did. first of all the owner art is suppppper nice. i explained to him my situation and how i pretty much need to get this important poster framed and it needs to be the cheapest thing possible… and well he helped me greatly! he had some extra wood from a previous frame he worked on and gave it to me practically at cost! it was ready in like 2 days! i just picked it up and it looked awesome! he even put acid free tape to fix parts of the old poster together. i will post a pic as well. i cant wait to surprise my hubby now! theres plenty of free parking in the back. he accepts credit cards as well. its very mom and pop and i love that. the big framing companies always wanna make as much as they can off you. but you wont see that here. i will be back to frame plenty more things!
