Annapoorna Chirra, MD

Dr. Chirra has been my primary care physician for almost 12 years. She is seriously the best physician out there. Always attentive and very proactive about care. I would recommend her to anyone.

I have been with Dr. Chirra for about 5 years. She is wonderful. She gives me the time and attention I deserve and always listens to my concerns regardless of how trivial they may sound. She is great about following up with test results and I feel the care and concern she shows her patients is truly genuine. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Chirra has been my primary care physician for the last 8 years. She is fantastic! I literally owe her my life. A few years ago I suffered blood clots in both my lungs. Since I’m fairly stubborn and have a high pain threshold, it took me awhile until I went to see her. She immediately called an ambulance to take me to the ED. It took them several hours to do the proper testing for pulmonary embolisms because they honestly couldn’t believe that was what was happening to me since I had no risk factors. Eventually they determined that it was blood clots — which she called right away. I had some trouble while in the hospital with the attending physicians and she intervened right away on my behalf and took care of the problem.
She always listens and is very thorough. She is really easy to get in touch with and personally calls me back every time I need to speak with her (and sometimes even when I don’t). The email system that they have is wonderful as well.
Even though I have some majorly complex health issues, she still remembers to think about the basic primary care issues that I often forget about because I’m dealing with bigger issues (running lab tests, health screenings, etc…)
Because of my complex health issues, I am often reluctant to go to the doctor when I am sick with a cold or the flu, etc… (because I spend so much time at doctors’ offices anyway) Despite her busy schedule, whenever I do need to see her for an acute illness, I have been able to get it right away to see her.
I have referred so many friends to her and they have all been really impressed. If she is taking new patients, I highly recommend snapping her up asap because it probably won’t last long. You really won’t find anyone better. I drive from Glendale to see her — she’s worth the drive.

Dr. Chirra is great! She’s very knowledgable, listens carefully to your problems, and instantly puts you at ease. I don’t know if she’s currently taking new patients, but I highly recommend her!
