I ordered pollo con tajadas The chicken was dry and tasted old. When I went to pay I let the owner know he said that’s how they cook it and if ppl didn’t like it to stay home and cook their own food. This old lady asked for milk for her coffee and he said«Espere señora que todo mundo me habla y estoy q reviento» y le dije wow entonces no tiene paciencia para atender al Publico. His response was ya le servi la leche que mas quiere. Please don’t waste your time on coming here and giving this ungrateful business owner your money when he can’t bother treating his customers with respect

The food was okay to be honest, but they were very nice. I got the pollo con tajadas. The tajadas seemed uncooked and i like them to be like a light brown. The dressing that goes with the pollo con tajada had a different taste as the one i am used too. The chicken was small compared to every place i go too. I asked if i could change it for grilled chicken instead of fried and they said no. First time i wasn’t able to do this at a restaurant hondureño. The restaurant was big and i loved the fact they sell stuff from Honduras. The seem very clean and service is very fast. They attended us right away and checked on us. They have there parking which is great. I love the spave between the tables so you can have privacy. The restrooms were clean and had a diaper changer which was great for me. They had posters with events that seemed pretty awesome. I give it 4 stars for having a clean cute restaurant and very friendly service.

Really excellent dishes with super low prices! The beans are excellently seasoned and the tortillas are nice and soft. I am not familiar with honduran food, so this was a new adventure, however, I was convinced this place is awesome. The customer service was pretty lack luster though. Meh. No biggie at a low budget place like this.

My mom is from Honduras so naturally i grew up eating delicious Honduran food! But this is the only place where i can get dishes that literally taste like my momma’s home cooking! Great food and a very casual ambiance. They even have frijoles, crema y queso that you can buy and take home with you!

The food is amazing but they have horrible service. The waitress and other hostess don’t know a thing about customer service, definitely go there just for the food and the fact that it’s the closes Honduran spot around my neighborhood otherwise no!

Food was disappointing(maybe I ordered the wrong things) and the environment/ambiance was overwhelming. Customer service was good. I was quiet disappointed of the food. It was mediocre… actually, it was very bad!: — Jugo de guanabana: the juices are made of powdered drinks(at least this guanabana one). The juice was overly sweet and it did not taste like guanabana, it tasted like water with sugar. — Yuca frita con chicharron: the yuca was good. It was fried perfectly, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. However, the chicharron was bad. Some of the pieces were too hard and dry. Some other pieces were nastily drenched with fat. When I bit on it, I could taste the lard. It was just disgusting. — Tamal de Puerco: the masa was good. It was not too soft nor too hard. However, the pork was too dry and it was kind of bland. — Carne asada en tajadas over fried plantains: since I was so disappointed of the chicharrones, I ordered the carne asada. The meat is of a very low quality. It was rubbery, overcooked, and unflavored. The fried sliced plantains were soggy. This plate was priced around $ 9.99, I believe. $ 9.99 for a bunch of soggy plantains and less than 100 grams of overcooked shoulder meat? definitely not worth it. — Rice and beans/casamiento?: red beans with rice. This side dish was awful. The rice was DRENCHED with oil. Basically, the rice was soaked with so much oil that when I scooped some rice with the fork, I could see the oil dripping off the food. Eww Environment/ambiance It was December, but that day in December was very hot. The inside of the restaurant somehow felt even hotter. There was this poor little kid(about 2 years old) who had a black suit on. The poor child was sweating all over and I guess since he was so uncomfortable with the heat, he started to cry non stop. However, his parents didn’t even care. They just let him cry. The poor kid’s face was all red from so much crying and his parent kept on eating, laughing, and talking with their friends. They just ignored the poor child. The worst thing is that it was annoying. I don’t blame the baby, I blame the parents. Control your kid, take him outside, shovel his mouth with a candy, I don’t know… just do whatever to shut him up. The place was hot, loud, children running around and crying. Just eminently overwhelming! Customer Service was good, hence, the extra star. The waitress was nice, she was very polite and well organized when taking the orders. Though she kept on forgetting some of our requests, it was understandable. The restaurant was crowded and I only saw 2 servers. She even prepared separate checks for each one of us. We were a group of 10 and she managed the orders and bills efficiently. Note: I believe they’ll charge either a $ 1.00 or $ 3.00 for a credit card transaction. So, we paid in cash.

Most authentic Honduran food I’ve had in the US(actually first Honduran restaurant I’ve ever tried outside of home). This place is really good though, closest thing to what I eat/get when I’m back in Honduras. I got their Sopa de Mondongo(Tripe Soup), Yuca con Chicharron, and Baleadas(Sorta like tortillas filled with whatever you want). The Sopa de Mondongo was delicious! The soup base was flavorful and the tripe was really tender. The veggies that came with it were really tasty as well. The Yuca con Chicharron was pretty good. The yuca was perfectly fried, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They kinda skimped on the chicharron though(only 3 pieces), but it was darn delicious. Crispy and delicious greasiness. The Baleadas were the best! Really reminded me of home. I got the simple baleadas that came with refried beans, crema, and cheese. Exquisite. Definitely getting more of this if I do come back. Overall, if I need my Honduran food fix I’m definitely coming here no doubt. Service is friendly and nice and the food is delicious!

I have been coming here since I was a little kid, and every time I go it’s a huge treat. I only recently went back, and now they have expanded and the interior is bigger and nicely decorated. Coming from a Honduran family I think I’m allowed an opinion on their food– and let me tell you. it’s good. The baleadas are so delicious– they have imported sodas that you must try! This is a good place to come with your family and enjoy the food together, along with the great service. Everyone here is super friendly and always attentive. I always order a side of the fried banana thingies– I forget what they are called in spanish but they are always perfectly made. Overall if you like great food, good service and a place where you’re free to be your loud Honduran self– or at least around them– this is the place to be.

Harsh fluorescent lights and industrial style tile floor leaves no charm in the room. Like a deli. Sort of. I had the chicken fajitas because I saw it listed on the wall as a special. That and I could barely figure the menu. By which I mean they had no dinner section. Only lunch. But it was the full menu. The chicken was gritty dark meat. The portion was small. I was hoping for an interesting authentic experience of food from Honduras. That hole in the wall with brilliant food. Not so much. I didn’t seem like anyone took pride or interest in their work there. I expect I ordered the wrong thing, but there was nothing good about what I did get. The only thing going for the place is that it’s cheap.

Got some baleadas last night. Two for each — my boyfriend and me. We got two with everything and two regulars to go. Oh, we also got some of the little cookies they have at the counter — major mistake. They were stale and hard. They tasted like they’ve been sitting there for weeks. Terrible. The baleadas were good but I rather have gotten them for cheaper and with carne asada somewhere else COUGHCOUGH Lempira COUGHCOUGH. So now that I tried it, I can say i will not be going back. Haha boyfriend feels the same way.

So I was wandering around Lafayette park one day and I was looking for something new and I happened to stumble upon Antojitos. I’ve never tried honduran food before so I decided to give it a try. The store is clean, it felt a little bit strange because the lights weren’t turned on but it was fine because it was during the day. I tried the baleadas with beef and I ordered a passion fruit drink. The baleadas were dry and bland so I didn’t really enjoy it that much. However, the passion fruit was spot on. My total came out to be $ 11 for 2 baleadas and a passion fruit drink. I guess honduran food is not my thing considering I rather have guatemalan, salvardorean, or Mexican food. I don’t think I’m a picky eater, but I’ll pass on antojitos.

A MacArthur Park Special. Hunting street art? Support local business. We would have probably eaten here. But we knew we had supper waiting at home. Unlike many of Los Angeles’ cruel streets, Antojitos Bibi has rest rooms. Buy something if you use them. There’s lots to try. We did purchase Honduran Extra Fuerte Café Indio here. It came in a brown coffee-bean like sack full of one-pot packages of ground coffee. Brewed up, it was extra strong. Nadi commented it had a peppery rather than bitter taste. I’ll tell you that it soy creamed into a really fine tasting cup of Joe, outstanding with my Empanada Crema from the bakery next door. I also bought a bag of Honduran horchata mix. I’d like to report on what appeared to be a fun taste bud excursion, but I sent the horchata home with Nadi. Another trip. /** The Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, MacArthur Park at its center is an amazing place to land on a balmy Saturday after two days of cold torrential SoCal rain. Hunting street art, with slight address information, plucked from a blurred raster street sign on a corner of «Skid Row» with a 12 story white building in the background takes mural hunters to interesting places. We punched 3500 E 6th street into the GPS, ending up in Boyle Heights. A DJ dancer shouted over his PA, insanely fast Mexican music blasting, attracting attention to the clearance store, his bumping moon-walk dance moves and bouncing afro wig adding layers to the attention-grabbing entertainment. «Look at me, come buy something.» The GPS was fruitless, yielding no El Mac and Retna, but plugged us into an excellent old Cesar Chavez street mural, tagged and dissed by scores of the up and comers. Heading to W 3500 on our path over the river, we hit a red stop light intersection with brilliant Catholic Relief Society murals east and west. A vato saw the minions snapping images from the car window, shouted at me to take his picture, pulled open his black windbreaker and happily showed us his black, white scripted«East L.A. Pride» tee shirt. I yelled back, «Sure» and told the kids to get the pic just as the light turned. No pic luck. I told hime, «Got it!» with a thumbs-up as we headed down the street. No, I’d not do that at night… Rolling across the river to the 6th street area we found an imprompteau plaza of vendors in tiny building stalls, umbrellas out like new California poppies at high noon, the sidewalks loaded with people, like bees, swarming from stall to stall, umbrella to umbrella, searching for the just right item at the just right price to take care of families newly arrived in this wealthy corner of our planet. Those vendors, those newcomers knew they must hustle to make a life in this new abundant land. They still had street market in their bones. The«Little Miracle» was simple to find. Mac specifically mentioned the MacArthur Park Primary Center. The mural took one-third of the Center’s wall, a glowing, beautiful Mac and Retna collaboration, well funded by a grant from Pampers. Hundreds of thousands of us can experience that little miracle of street art if we lift up our heads and open our eyes. Our city made a little more beautiful.

So I was craving something other than the usual mexican, chinese, hamburger and fries thing when I came across this place. The inside was nice and clean and roomy. We browsed through the menu and decided on some catrachitas(little tiny tostadas with beans, grated cheese, and some delicious curtido) and some pastelitos(little empanada type things stuffed with ground beef and rice), my kid opted for the fish and chips and damn was that shit good! I’ll be coming back soon.
