Arco & AMPM

Today (10÷09÷15 @ approx 8:31a.m-8:36) I briefly came to this location to get some crushed ice to take my friend who was homebound after just having gastrointestinal surgery 2 days prior. She was having trouble swallowing large gulps of water and mentioned while in hospital the nurses gave her crushed ice to keep from getting dehydrated. I researched and found AMPM carries it. Upon my entrance I seen an employee (David– Hispanic mid 30’s) near the rear sweeping the floor. I walked to him kindly asked him where could I find the crushed ice. In a hasty very rude and loud manner he replied walking away from me «Can you read… what does the sign over there say?» Although appaud I overlooked his rudeness (because my focus was this crushed ice) proceeded to walk where he pointed to see a sign on one soda machine that says OUT of SERVICE. I again approached him calmly stated I see the sign now that says out of service, and further informed him why I needed it and asked if it was just the soda or the ice as well. His response «are you here with that F-​ing Black lady, in the white shirt that just left here that knocked down all this stuff? because if you are here for her you can go somewhere else!!!» You blacks are always coming in here causing trouble”… (WHAT???)… aside from being appaud by his racist remark, I’m standing there clueless to what madness happened before I entered. (Baffled How im wrongly affilated because im also african american. I didn’t feed into his ignorance. quickly let it go and didnt respond. Redirected the focus to what I came there for) I interjected and calmly assured him I am not apart of anything and AGAIN informed of the urgency in why I need it. After seeing my calmness and unmoved by his ranting he then calmed his voice and said «yes the ice is working.» Humilated and taken back by racist opinion I quietly headed back to the soda machine got my 3 cups of crushed ice and got in the line. Their was two other employees present cashiering. By the time is was time for me to be called up to be cashed out. This same employee David has now come up to his register to help out the waiting line. He calls me to his register, tells me the amount, I pay. before departing his counter I requested the owners contact info, where he then discouraged my request stating the owner is never here, handing me my receipt pointing at the store location phone number. Before heading out I gave room for him to apologize and stated I was humiliated by the way he responded to me. This guy then adds more insult and says «well you blacks need to learn respect»…(my exit, and a call to corporate).
Too many people losing their lives over misunderstanding of race and difference of opinion. Although a hurtful experience it opened an opportunity for me to pray. I’m happy that I didn’t react according to my flesh. God’s peace is real!!! #.

When you spend 100 on gas and then they won’t let you use the bathroom! I get you may need to clean it, but come on! And to be rude about it too.

They don’t allow credit card at pump.
