DELICIOUS!!! I made my own and was very pleased. The mint tea is also delicious. A friend ordered with me and got the tofu and was also very happy with her meal! Their delivery was also fast and didn’t leave me waiting for days! I give it two thumbs up!

Asian Box is a great place for lunch and it seems pretty popular during weekday rush hours. It’s by no means a super healthy meal, but compared to the restaurants in the general vicinity, Asian Box offers quality rice, vegetables and meats. However, you’ll pay $ 10+ per box of food. Asian Box is the Chipotle of Vietnamese fusion cuisine, without the instantaneous customization. The quality of the food is very much in line with the Chipotles of the world(minus the E. Coli). If you want to drop some more money on lunch($ 15), their Ox Box has some seriously good stuff. Double beef. Caramel Egg. Vegetables. All over rice. Delicious. Pros: quick, filling and tasty Cons: a little on pricey side($ 10+ per box)

Free box offer brought Stephanie P and I back here for the Elite event that we had here back in October 2014(http://yelp-elite-tasting-asian-box-los-angeles), we saw an order form. Instead of customizing your own box, you have four to choose from that already has different packages thoughfully put together. I’m sure you can use these today by telling the cashier which«House Favorite» you would like to order. What we saw offered are: The Garden Box — Tofu, brown rice, extra steamed veggies, all toppers, no jalapeño, extra coconut curry, Asian Street Dust $ 8.75 The Miss Jones — Lemongrass pork, chilled noodles, sauce tossed veggies, caramel egg, all toppers, no jalapeño, extra fish sauce $ 9.55 The Workout — Skinless chicken, brown rice, extra steamed veggies, bean sprouts, pickled veggies, herbs, tamarind vinaigrette $ 8.55 The Ox Box — Double beef, jasmine rice, sauce tossed veggies, all toppers, caramel egg, Asian Street Dust, sriracha $ 13.65 Besides these already put together items for the boxes, you can customize your own box. The menu sign behind the cashier shows you step 1 selecting your option of rice, salad or noodles. I loved The Ox Box but this visit, I selected The Miss Jones. The cashier said the mix of the peanut sauce and the Sriracha sauce is really good. I took the suggestion and brought this box back to work. Once I sat down, I woofed this box down and left the fork and napkin where it was. Yes, I was definitely happy with this box. It’s a really great healthy choice but I was readily hungry for dinner when it was time to blow that whistle. Traffic didn’t help the hunger at that hour. The box did cure it for lunch.

I’m so excited to find this. Everything is Gluten free!!! As someone who loves Asian food but has celiac, this is a gem. Had the beef with rice noodles, steamed veggies, tossed in fish sauce with a side of house-made sriracha and peanut sauce. Beef was cooked med-rare and very tender, just how I like it. I was pleased with the freshness of the veggies, quality of meat, wide variety of mix and match options, and reasonable price. I am definitely coming back!

I wasn’t quite sure what this restaurant was about when I discovered its existence but I am always up for a new experience. It’s definitely a place where it focuses on to-go. The menus promote how healthy all the food options are. I wasn’t sure what I wanted so I picked the one that was most appealing and cheapest; the fig at 7th box. It had curry chicken and their version of an Arnold Palmer. Inside the box was rice, chicken, salad, and so much peanuts. Taste wise, it was average and I was glad I didn’t choose individual things to add to the box as was the other option because then, I would have really been disappointed. And especially since the prices were much more expensive. The Arnold Palmer was not good, at least for me. It was minty green tea mixed with lemonade, so it was minty and sour. I couldn’t finish it. The food isn’t mind blowing, especially for the prices that are attached to it.

This place is close to my job and my friend likes it, so I go. I think it’s overpriced for what it is(about $ 10 per box for mostly veggies or noodles/rice and a small amount of meat). I have to say the meat is really quality and fresh, not a lot of gristle and fat which is really nice. I don’t know why, but it just tastes average overall. The concept is good, but maybe they need to add a bit more flavor or something, I usually just ask for extra sauce. Service is really fast which is nice if you are on lunch break. All seating is outside. Not a good place to go unless you are walking, parking garages are a pain and really expensive downtown.

To be honest, I was skeptical when I heard that Asian Box specializes in customize-able Vietnamese dishes. I thought it would be extremely Americanized and not authentic. But when I stepped into the restaurant and smelled fish sauce, I knew that Asian Box was serious about Vietnamese food. Upon the staff’s recommendation, I got the Ox Box(about $ 14) and it was so tasty. It had all the elements of authentic Vietnamese cooking – basil, cilantro, sriracha, bean sprouts, picked carrots, pickled cabbage, CARAMELEGG. I’m obsessed with the caramel egg; I need to learn how to make it myself. Though the Ox Box was a bit pricey, it was worth the money! Parking is tricky. I parked a few blocks away and walked over. The parking structure attached to Asian Box doesn’t validate you for the full cost of parking. I believe you still have to pay $ 12 after validation.

I would say this place is Vietnamese fusion. It’s not too expensive for what it is. I usually get their curried tofu dish. It’s really hearty and they don’t skimp out on the tofu. It’s a small but busy location so I would try to come after 12:45 to get a seat in their patio area. The easy e drink is bad. Please do not get it. If you do, give it to someone you don’t like.

Just pretty average. I only choose to go here during my lunch break at work because it’s within walking distance of my building and it has a nice variety of veggies and meat. Nothing outstanding but not a bad either. They get the food out pretty fast so it’s better then waiting for some of the other places nearby. I chose beef as my meat option which is probably one of the tastier options.

Saw my friend at work bring back this box of food that kinda looked like healthy Asian fusion to me, and she said that it came from Asian Box. I’m still trying to figure out exactly what is around work and it looked fairly healthy. Noticed it was only a block and a half away so hell why not? Menu is pretty straightforward, you order based on the type of meat, veggies, and carbs you want. Got the beef with a bunch of veggies and brown rice. Actually thought that the beef was pretty well-cooked. Overall it felt healthy enough, but I wouldn’t quite say it was a memorable meal or anything. Decent lunch option but that’s about it.

For a variety of healthy options in Downtown Los Angeles, this is the place to go! While Tender Greens, Cabbage Patch, Lemonade, and Mendocino Farms are great options, sometimes I just want Asian food for lunch. Asian Box does a great job of mixing up the tastes and letting the customer customize their box. I usually get the brown rice or rice noodles with tofu or shrimp. Their sriracha sauce is really good as well! The prices are affordable for DTLA.

Shop House does it better but Asian Box is an ok place for lunch downtown. It’s a build-your-own style place, so you pick from brown/white rice, salad, noodles, then beef, chicken, pork, tofu, or shrimp, then your veggie toppings, then your sauces. You can ask for extra toppings or to omit toppings(I usually skip the sprouts and get extra veg) and you can pick more than one sauce but some of them you have to pay like $ 0.75 extra, which is kinda lame. The peanut sauce is not good enough to merit an extra $ 0.75. You can also add an egg for extra. Anyway, I’ve noticed the food kind of always tastes the same no matter what combination you get lol. I opt for the salad with tofu and extra veggies, plus tamarind and sriracha sauces which are both free. Pre-tax it’s $ 7.25 and that’s about all I’d want to spend here.

Asian Box is a fast food franchise restaurant the serves similar to Chipotle but with Southeast Asian cuisine. Located at the exterior food court of 6th& Figueroa, Asian Box primarily caters to the working folk in the Financial District of DtLA. There’s 3 steps to ordering here. Order your carb(rice, noodle, salad), choose a protein(meat, tofu, shrimp), then choose your add ons of veggies and toppers and sauces. I came here for lunch and had brown rice, garlic and soy glazed beef, steamed veggies, all the toppers(jalapeño, sprouts, shallots, peanuts, herbs, pickled veggies, lime, and egg) in a tamarind vinaigrette. There’s about a 5 minute wait if you show up around noon which isn’t bad considering the rush of people. The bowl itself isn’t bad. The beef is a little tough and the tamarind vinaigrette was a bit too tangy for me. Needs to be a bit sweeter with all the flavors mixed in. Overall, it wasn’t great. Just okay in my opinion. Probably won’t be back.

Asian box is a new local spot to grab something quick and go in downtown. It’s located on the ground level of the union bank Plaza and it’s a good fresh and easy spot to grab lunch! They opened about 6 months ago or so and I’ve been coming here since. Not every day of course but at least once a week. The concept is simple. You choose your base, your protein, your toppings and sauce. You can choose from a selection of beef, shrimp, chicken, or pork. Toppings range(too many to list) and they can spicy it up for you ;-) I go for the protein and veggies. Keeps lunch on the light and healthy(I hope) side. I’ve had the chicken and the beef and the beef is my favorite. Also, the staff is amazing and always friendly! Especially elysees(I completely butchered the spelling of his name) but he’s awesome! Always smiling and always offers amazing service! Just keep in mind there’s no inside seating so your options are to go or in the outside courtyard of the Plaza

TEAMOBOXEAASIANA~!!! I love this place… Was introduced to A/B from last year’s YEE for noobies in Burbank Asian Box. ( ) The food is delicious, healthy, vegetarian(it can be), fresh, and affordable unlike health insurance. My typical box consists of: –Brown Rice, –Doo Boo(tofu) which i absolutely love, –Bean Sprouts, –Salad(by default). –Peanuts(A/B intro’d me to peanuts in rice, so good). –Lime, and –Peanut Sauce(depending on weather, i get the siracha based or no sauce). I do not do well with hard boiled eggs so i tend to avoid that option even though one can argue that I would not get it cause it costs $ 1.00 more. Few cons but nothing to major: –No inside seating, –Poor manueverability, –No soda machine with inflated canned drink prices, and –No utensils or napkins in public space. It can get massively crowded during lunch rush so be weary. For those who wish to drive here to eat. Forget it, go to Burbank location. Service was nice, tidy, and friendly. Food came out quick despite the crowd. Price range: $ 12 with can soda.

I ordered brown rice, pork, all toppings except jalapeño, and balsamic sauce. The toppings made up about 60% of what was in the box, there was very little brown rice just hidden under the layer of toppings. My dish also came out to be super sour. I wanted to try half pork, half tofu, but decided against it when I found out they would charge $ 5 extra for it. Eh. It’s healthy food, I’ll give them that, but in the words of my colleague, «this doesn’t look like a lot of food». For $ 9.21, you could find a way better meal elsewhere.

My initial thought, before ordering, was, oh no, I’m not going to get full. Wrong. It was plenty of food and I was really full. I got half rice, half rice noodles, shrimp, all the veggies, the fish sauce, sriracha, and their special blend of spices. The shrimp was split lengthwise, leaving the tail end attached. This was a very smart way to prepare the shrimp. It was easier to eat and you feel like you’re getting more shrimp because it seemed like you’re eating two shrimp for every one. The flavors were great. I really liked the rice noodle option. The Vietnamese iced coffee was just ok, tasted a little weak. I definitely will return. There isn’t enough good Asian food in dt, and I’m glad they’re here.
