Great selection of newly imported goods from the motherland. Such an exotic things for L.A., such as shproty, kvas, less sweetened Kinder chocolate and wide range of different frozen products(vareniki, pelmeni, blinchiki). They also have some freshly cut salads, including Olivier and Crab, pirozhki from the same-day-bakery and many more products. I loved the idea of having piano in the middle, it looks very classy and as I understood — promotes piano classes for people of any age. Staff is very nice and helpful, always glad to support the conversation and advice something new or interesting. The location is very convenient, located right on the Sunset and Fuller, across the street from Ralph’s. Parking is easy and quite spacious. Highly recommend the place as for the regular grocery, so for the special occasions such as upcoming New Years Eve. !

I LOVE this place! The food is wonderful! Don’t expect super friendly service because we, Russians, don’t smile much, but don’t think it’s rude — it’s just the way it is :) And. there are only a couple of tables where you can sit, it’s mainly a take out place. But the food is awesome and I have brought many friends there over the years! :)

I took some food for home, must say that the aubergine salad and the potato salad were great and fresh. The Russian Dudu ice-cream is also amazing, remind me for ice-cream from my childhood :) I was not so impressed with the fried chicken breast on a stick with butter inside, it was not so fresh and juicy at the time I bough it. I’ve tried also a potato ball with beef inside– not impressed from it. But I’ve got a piece of cake with super thin layers inside and delicious cream all over– this was awesome and definitely must try!

My book group was going to be discussing Anna Karenina and I thought some Russian food would be a good accompaniment. I know nothing about Russian food, by the way. I purchased stuffed cabbage, some phyllo wrapped seasoned goat cheese, some kind of meat turnovers and a mushroom salad. This food was delicious! People loved it! Every one of them will become a customer, no doubt. The woman who makes this is a excellent cook, and there is that wonderful homemade quality to all these well-seasoned dishes. Also bought a portion of stuffed zucchini in some kind of seasoned broth. Fantastic! Highly recommended, and patronized by Russians, which must mean something about authentcity.

Great warm ground lamb pies and delious strong coffee. Don’t ask them for a hard roll or a bagel, they will not know what you mean. I’d return.

They are selling spoiled food. Their food is not fresh. They are changing the dates on packages. You have to be very careful.

The store is so so. If you’re looking for tea, pickles or other grocery I’d recommend some other places. But the ready made food there is AWESOME. Take away or grab a bite right there(they have a three tables outside) the food is great. I recommend Eggplant with herbs, Cutlet(chicken or fish both are great), Cabbage wraps and pickled mushrooms salad.

II’m a frequent shopper here and I like the food selection & their service. They have a variety of delicious Russian food, attentive & polite staff. They also have live music, there is always someone playing piano, which adds an interesting touch to the store’s atmosphere. The sales crew is wonderful, they always make suitable suggestions & their food is fresh. I really like this store!

Another Russian Store Grandma’s Deli Babushka in West Hollywood, but one of the better ones. This store is not cheap but I guess you pay for the quality and selection. Amazing place, really delicious food. Polite and friendly staff. Will come here more often now.

I have been to several Russian delis and This one is better than most. We bought a bunch of groceries and also the salad Olivia, the beet salad and the stuffed cabbages. My step daughter still makes the best salad Olivia but theirs was a close second. Also the stuffed cabbages was excellent.

I’ve been purchasing from here for years. Unfortunately I made a purchase today that was by far the worst ever. I ordered some chicken kebobs for my birthday party. As I went to work and set my table up to my surprise they were mostly undercooked pieces, some even RAW and didn’t smell fresh at all!!! I caution people to check their food before leaving because this was just an extremely bad experience for my coworkers and I ever! Due to this unfortunate matter I will NEVER shop here again!

Cannot say that food can be considered fresh here. Especially the one out of fridge. Looked like potato stayed couple hours outside the fridge and got dry. They couldn’t even provide me with info on how fresh was their meat.

Decent selection of Eastern European groceries. I love picking up their herring(in jars) but wish they had Polish pickles, since everybody knows they are the BEST! ha ha A nice place to have a hearty lunch. The staff are pretty nice too — I was trying to explain what I needed and one of the girls translated for me.

When I first tried grandmas deli location on laurel canyon I fell in love. Super friendly women and very sweet. Good prices excellent moist food. Perfect! But this location… I was way overcharged! At the other location I would be able to get a nice plate and drink for $ 10 and here I got the same thing… for a staggering $ 17 wow wtf is it cause its on sunset? The stuffed cabbage lacked flavor. The cous cous was dry and I told the lady preparing my food I wanted sour cream on my cabbage she says OK! Then the lady who served my food after charging me… said here u go! There was no sour cream on my cabbage so I asked again and she made a mad face like(ugh what do you want now?!) Then said 75 cents more. Wow wtf since when did u all charge to add sour cream to a dish? I have never been charged 75 cents at the laurel canyon location I’m quite dissapointed. Won’t come back to this one!

This is more than just a little deli tucked away in a nondescript strip mall. They’ve got canned good, fresh fruit, dried goods, deli meats, fish and cheeses. Kinda small, but will suit your lunch needs or light grocery needs. They have an array of prepared foods. I sat outside with Maddy and had stuffed cabbage with ground beef and rice, kidney bean salad and beet salad for about $ 11. Really good stuff made by hand. Bring your puppy and sit outside at a table under an umbrella. You’ll have company with the Russian men sitting outside.

I ordered a ham sandwich on wheat bread. They only had 2 type of bread: rye or wheat. Only 2 type of sandwiches turkey or ham. So i chose wheat bread, ham, cheese, lettuce tomatoe & onion. But they have no lettuce??? Took it to go and when I opened it to my surprise it wad a heel piece of bread & the other piece was hard as a rock. $ 7.00 sandwich. Also service extreemly slow. Two women behind countet & only myself & onr other customer. Took about 15min for 1sandwhich to go. Thumbs down

This deli is so clean!!! I don’t know why I always expect ethnic places to have a little grunge to them maybe a few cobwebs from the old world transplanted for charm but not at Grandma Babushka’s. Don’t get me wrong there is plenty of charm here. The beautiful young lady behind the counter spoke perfect English with a delightfully exotic accent. She couldn’t have been friendlier. She helped me pick out something traditional foods to try for my picnic at the Hollywood Bowl. I ended up with a cabbage roll and the dill, cabbage, cucumber salad. I also grabbed a bottle of pear sparkling soda to sample. The bottle was covered in foreign writing so this had to be direct from the homeland. The cabbage salad was fresh, crispy, light and I loved the dill. The cabbage roll, I wasn’t a huge fan of. I only ate half and it was a large piece. The filling tasted really fatty and I think I was in the mood for healthy food. Next time I want to try more of their cold salad offerings. So many different things to choose from.
