I don’t know how to feel about the food here. Pros: Steak tastes pretty good, customer service great, prices low. Cons: Its good, but not special. The tacos seem to be a bit on the plain side and their spicy dark red salsa is very very bitter. Overall, not somewhere I’d go out of my way to eat.

I love this place. They have great inexpensive tacos which is all I have personally gotten. I personally like the chicken and fish, with the fish being my favorite even though it costs a bit extra. My girlfriend also likes the steak and pork a lot.

I went to Baja Bud’s for the first time tonight… I agree w/what another reviewer stated, service was ok but definitely not warm. Totally just going through the motions. I got the Carne Asada plate which was worthy of 2.5 stars. There’s a taco truck a few blocks away that annihilates them for ¼ the price so I feel 2.5 stars is generous, therefore 2 it is! Being that I found them from Unilocal I was referencing the Unilocal menu for a cheap tasty meal. On the Unilocal menu it lists the plate for $ 8.95… Not bad, except that’s it’s actually $ 13 or something like 35% more. The response to this was, «oh yea, I tell the manager, that price no good»… So you won’t honor the price listed? «No, cuz I already tell him he need to change». Yea, fuck that minus a star. And then there was one…

I came here with my kids and ordered steak tacos, nachos, and carnitas. The steak tacos were ok, the nachos were huge, but the carnitas was a disappointment. The carnitas was tough and seemed to be a little old. Service was ok, but not warm at all, just going through the motions. The tables were clean but everything was worn and dated. The only thing that was pretty good was the salsa. Overall, if I want tacos, I’ll probably still go to El Gallito’s Taco Truck, and if I want nachos, Wahoo’s is much superior.

Really good HEALTHY. Mexican option! I love Mexican food but tend to stay away from my cravings because most places use lard in their cookings. This place not only uses No lard whatsoever but also has whole wheat tortillas as opposed to white flour! I just moved to the area and I am so excited because I have found a quick and yummy healthier alternative to Mexican food!

Excellent food at this establishment, very delicious and they got beer!!! Nice corona to go along with very tasty mexican food, personal favorite would be the big burrito or the big quesadilla with all the works.[ cheese, beans, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, rice]. I probably go in their 3 to 4 times a month. Great staff, very nice and courteous, thanks guys!!!

Ordered a fish burrito and got a fish quesadilla. The blend of fish and cheese was a no go and I threw out half my meal. Probably some of the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in a long time. I thought the fish would be good after being freshly grilled but there was zero flavor. I would have been 100x happier getting something from Rubio’s. Chips were ok but the spicy salsa was nothing to rave about either. I don’t understand the great reviews tbh.

I adore Baja Bud’s. Every time I come home I have to stop by to get carne asada tacos. I was really sad to learn that the Baja Buds on the Promenade is closed so the building can be renovated, but luckily I discovered that there are more Baja Bud’s in the city(thank goodness!). The staff are very friendly, everything comes out really fast, and the food is excellent. If I could I would eat here for every meal. Seriously.

We ordered the enchiladas plater, the food was terrible and we weren’t close to being full. So disappointed. Everything feels so old in here

This place is so good! Quick and delicious. I would he the burrito plate. It comes with a burrito with chips, rice and beans on the side. The beans have cheese on them, soo good! It’s about $ 8.50. Definitely one of the better spots in Brentwood

Nothing special. You can get better tacos for $ 1.50 from a truck. Fact. It’s bad because they served up some soft tortilla chips, charged an extra dollar for a mini dollop of a tsp of guacamole, and the meat was a little dry.

I went here because the Cabo Cantina was filled and a line was out there door because of the soccer match. So this was my back up plan, I must say that i was glad I got to eat. This place definitely needed a tv, but then again i may not have been able to get in here either if that was the case. The place is small and cozy, and though my co-worker mentioned that there will be beer, when i got there they had no beer. And that Miller Sharp didn’t count at all. So no alcohol for lunch kind of sucked. Anyway the food was cool, but I was really looking forward to Cabos unlimited taco Tuesday. Parking was ok, just a little tight for my truck.

Decent food and great service. When you’re looking for quick, cheap, Mexican food, this is the place. They make you whatever you want, burrito, tacos, whatever. It’s pretty low-key. The staff is pretty friendly. A good place for a quick and hearty lunch.

I come here during my lunch breaks every now and then. The service is really quick and friendly. I’ve gotten the burrito and the carnitas plate before. The burrito was really good and filling. The carnitas plate was just aiiiite. The meat was really dry. I like how they have the salsa bar set up so you can drench your meal in pico de gallo! Not a bad spot for a quick, affordable lunch!

Fresh Mexican fast food with lots of options, including some healthy choices that still taste good! Mexican fast food isn’t usually one of my go-to places. But I would choose Baja Bud’s over Chipotle because of the tasty salad. The people working behind the counter were also extremely nice, and they also provide a little salsa stand where you can serve yourself. I liked it, but there’s nothing super unique and special about it compared to other fast food Mexican restaurants.

Only one BIG problem… Food is as sensational as national location. Staff just as friendly. It’s a smaller location and not as nice as national but booths are comfortable. The only knock on this location is the music… it’s way too loud in the dining area and they play a radio station so you end up with blaring Spanish commercials in your ear. I think it’s that loud because staff likes to hear the radio station while in kitchen. Unfortunately, the dining area is literally right below speakers that face downward from ceiling. National Bl location does not play a radio station with commercials so ambient music is never distracting. I go to both locations at least once per month. Wilshire is closer to home so it’s more convenient. Maybe that’s why this baja buds is always empty. It’s a good alternative if you want to avoid the crowds on national.

2.5, but I’ll round up to 3. Just OK. I got a carnitas burrito grande, and it was decent. The carnitas looked really dry when the guy was scooping it out of the pan — it ended up being less dry than it looked, but not moist enough for my liking. The size of the overall burrito was pretty big. Guacamole doesn’t appear to be an extra charge. I do like that they offer whole wheat tortillas. The restaurant looks a little dingy and worn down. I took my burrito to go.

I used to work a block away from this place and would come here for lunch at least once a week. Their service is quick, the food is incredible! I recommend their carne asada plate. The food is very fresh and the seasoning they use is so good. Great place to go for a quick bite.

Baja Bud’s not what you’d expect from a mexican fast food joint. The food’s really fresh and they try to offer healthier options by providing«low-carb» plates and whole wheat tortilla. I recently ordered the low-carb plate with steak, which is basically carne asada with a mixed salad, topped with fresh salsa and a small dollop of sour cream and guacamole. What surprised me the most was when I ordered my plate, they actually took the marinated steak out from the fridge and placed it on the grill to cook… right then and there! I was totally expecting them to scoop me a handful of pre-cooked, diced carne asada. A+ for cooking to order! I think they’re a little light-handed when it comes to adding guacamole and other toppings, but i’m trying to see it as a good thing since they’re trying to promote healthier mexican food. It’s just different from the usual massive sized burritos we’ve become accustomed to seeing and eating. Baja Bud’s won’t put you into a food coma and make you feel like shit for the rest of the day! Woohoo. Except, I have seen a few people order the nachos which comes in a giant portion and looks ridiculously delicious. That’s not healthy though… Nope.
