I don’t know why there are even negative reviews. They make your tortillas fresh, right in front of your eyes! They’re soft and warm and hold in all the juicy toppings. Every time I’m there(3 – 4 times a week) I always meet people who say they drive from Pasadena or East LA to get the tacos. The red sauce is super spicy, so be careful. Their Al Pastor is smokey and sweet with carmelized onions(my fave). Their Chorizo tacos are bomb and it’s the only truck I’ve encountered that has birria!!! Don’t even have to wait till the weekend! Every time I’ve asked for extra toppings or veggies, they’re super accommodating. Maybe it’s just a language barrier? They have these pickled onions that I love and delicious green sauce. Try it. They all have special deals. Comments that say the tacos are small are confusing to me, because they are the same size as all the other taco joints and food trucks that I’ve gone too. And they’re generous with toppings and meats. For $ 1.25 — it’s an amazing deal

this is one of two taco places i tried during the recent taco crawl UYE. these tacos were tiny! i ordered a single al pastor taco and handed over my $ 1. the pork was surprisingly tender, but a bit bland. the tortilla was so flimsy that it started disintegrating after i topped it with like 3 different salsas. i mean, i probably overloaded it(i have a tendency to do that) but all the other taco joints’ tortillas have been able to withstand the pressure, so why not this one? anyway, if i go back i’ll probably check out the goat meat since it’s the namesake of the truck, after all.

i like this place cuz they got a great condiment table and they serve goat. woohoo!!! i love me sum goat. i ate 4 of these suckas and prolly would’ve eaten more if not for the 12 i ate at the other three stands on javier’s taco crawl. i been waiting to try goat tacos, and this place has started my birria kick. only drawback was that the wet meat made my tortillas disintegrate, making for difficult eating…

I’d never had goat before, but if you want to try it for a buck, this is the place to go! I ordered two tacos and ended up with three. They were on the small side, and once I loaded them up with toppings at the help-yourself condiment bar, the tiny little tortillas started to fall apart. Still, they served up some big flavor. The meat was tender and juicy, and the lengua was particularly delicious. Plus, if you’re up for ordering tons of tacos, you can get some pretty decent discounts.

Tacos are too small and should have been $ 0.50, not $ 1! I didn’t try the Birria(Remind me to tell you my George and his Goat Story… its a wonderful tale of a boy and his goat and how his evil mexican family kidnapped, killed and served his goat for sunday breakfast potluck. 30years later… that Boy… is looking for Payback!) Good tortillas and overall a good spot. I hate that they have a Goat on their truck… it still pains the boy till this day. Birria will never taste the same again! Keep on Unilocaling.

Tiny, tiny tacos! Yes sir. But as they say, good things come in small packages. I’d never had goat taco before, in fact I’ve only eaten goat once. So I was very excited to try this tasty little mound of goodness! Let’s begin: The goat meat was of a good consistency. Moist, tender, but still retaining it’s goatyness. It was salty, not overly salty but at a level which complemented the flavor well. The sauces were good and there were a good amount of toppings set out in a help yourself fashion. On a side note, there is a liquor store just east of this truck which sells Joose and Budweiser Clamato if your into that type of thing which I definitely am.

This spot in Highland park has had many taco slingers take up its space on this tire joint. One place made some really good Al Pastor in the past, though they didn’t last too long. Then I noticed that this place popped up and it’s a sort of cross between a taco truck and a stand. I think it makes it easier for folks to trust a street taco if you have that sanitized white zone look in an enclosed area. Whatever works, I just like the end product. If you want to know what gets my goat. it’s um. not getting my goat. This place. gives me my goat. Oh man. soooo good. Nothing better than some goat tacos. Oh my god, the Birria is pretty good here. It’s a goat stew that is typically only saved for big events or holidays. Given that we’re about 6 months away from any of those, it’s nice to have a place to go and get some. What I don’t like… the small size of the tacos. They’re the quarter dollar sized, much smaller than any other spot on York, so it’s not going to fill you up. It’s also a buck, but really, 25 cents should buy you more in size for the suckers. But besides the size of them, I think the main thing here is that they’re still pretty damn good and it’s Goat! I love goat. It’s not baaaaaaaaad at all.

I’m pouring a little haterade on this joint because the tacos were small, dry, and just didn’t do it for me. With the exception of the birria, which was absolutely delish, the tacos here were flat out unimpressive. I do have to say that my review might be slightly biased as this was the last truck on our Taco Tour of Highland Park. Not to mention that I had already consumed 27 tacos prior to sampling the goods so please take that into consideration(no joke). Anyways here’s the lowdown, dollar tacos, hand made tortillas, awesome goat, and a decent salsa /condiment bar. Its the only spot on York that serves goat so they are definitely deserving of a pat on teh back or maybe a double butt tap cause a little birria and a hand made torillas never hurt anyone. Other than that though this place is its just«aight»

if you are in the area this place is great. The little lady(won’t say old) makes the corn tortillas by hand… I eat here at least once a week… mix it up.2 asada…2 pollo. and of course…2 goat! Seriously… i COULD eat here everyday. but i don’t want to scare’em or something.

Great selection of salsas, tacos are a buck, and they’ve got birria, which is pretty rare for a taco truck. Sometimes they don’t put the salsas out though, which stinks. [ seems like the salsas being out is contingent on the auto shop the truck is parked in being closed. so go during non-business hours ]

Awesome tacos! Their tortillas are handmade, which makes all the difference… fluffy and soft. Tacos are $ 1; 2 for 1 during happy hour. They offer typical meats like asada, pastor, lengua, cabeza, tripas, etc. Great selection of salsa and condiments. 5 different salsas, including habanero.

So another New Taco stand in Highland Park, I saw this the other day when I went to Mariscos Sinaloa across the street and said HEY that trailer looks familiar… did they move from Monte Vista & Ave 50? So I go check things out and it turns out they just added a new trailer and it’s in the Parking lot of Serrano’s Tire & Auto Repair at 5657 York Blvd, he also has another El Pariente trailer in the other Serrano’s on Monte Vista & Ave 50 and owne’s Mariscos Sinaloa on York Blvd,(Serrano business must be good!).
So I’m really not hungry still full from my salute to National Sandwich day but I ordered 2 Tacos and my Wife ordered the Birria, it’s the same great taste as the other El Pariente all is good you guys gotta come check this place out. So I had 1-Taco de Pollo y 1-Taco de Buche(Beef), the Tacos are on the small side but only $ 1.00 and you get a «freshly hand made tortilla» with some GREAT tasting meat I think there were about 8 to chose from, salsa is on the side they have different levels of heat for you. When you see my pictures NO that is NOT grease rolling off the taco but it’s the chili I chose which is the HOTTEST, it’s kinda like a pure chili oil. Buche left & Pollo right. My Wife had the Birria de Chivo(Goat) and El Pariente is the BEST in town at Birria de Chivo, the caldo has wonderful flavor and not greasy and you also get«Freshly Hand Made Corn Tortillas» and use the salsa bar for all your toppings! 5-Stars El Pariente…
