Conveniently located but the selection is lacking.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found myself wandering the aisles of this place for over an hour, only to walk out empty handed. I CAN’T watch a dumb movie. Drives me insane. I feel like Blockbuster only carries dumb movies now… I’ve watched all the good ones. Too bad this location closed. Redbox just doesn’t have it sometimes… you know?

Blockbuster? Really? Oh well… There are still people who like it the old fashioned way. Although in few years(when blockbuster will be a long gone memory) we’ll be asking ourselves, Netflix? Reeeally? Soon enough we’ll all be able to order movies on our TV’s and PC’s without getting out of the house… But anyhow, this location is not the best but neither the worst. Cons: — It is a smaller branch — Less selection — Parking can be hectic — You’re in LA havn’t got used to it yet? — It is near the nastiest Ralph’s in LA — Just had to put it on here — Neighborhood is sketchy and busy Pro’s: — Service is usually good — Cashiers are funny and assisting — It got nice selection of oldies — It got Cold Stone creamery right near it — For us, good movie and our favorite ice cream was always a must. So bottom line, it is just another Blockbuster but smaller. Come here if you are in the area or if they got a movie that other branches don’t. Gotta check out that Coldstone! ;p Yalla Bye!

F this place… F Blockbuster corporate in general… F the dude working behind the counter last night… Yes the store has a good location. Next to Ralphs, and Ross, and Starbucks, etc, etc… But I’ve been less and less happy with Blockbuster’s selection in the past year. I’m 100% sold on Netflix now. They have the selection you need. I may just need to upgrade to 3 at a time so it’s never 11:44 and I have no media to watch, thus forcing me to go to the closest Blockbuster which carries 40% straight to DVD garbage. Basically we went to try and find some late seasons of South Park… All Blockbuster carries(apparently a corporate decision) is 2 volumes of South Park greatest hits. WHAT? For real. One of the most popular, long running shows on TV… And we live in Hollywood? Then when I politely asked the counter guy to confirm this he gives me…“Sir, our clientele doesn’t rent these types of films, so corporate marketing, bleh bleh bleh.”…Thanks man, you forget i went to college and that’s why I’m not pushing 40 behind the counter of a 2 bit Blockbuster… This guy was a latino version of the comic book store guy in the Simpsons. Greasy pony tail and all. Heck, the last time I couldn’t find season 2 of the Wire… Oh they had season 1… and 3, and 4, and even 5… But they just decided to hold out on season 2…“The economy” says the guy this time… Then as I leave last night, he states«couldn’t find anything(condescendingly)?!” – «no sir I replied, although your straight to DVD section is one of the finest I’ve seen in a long time, I feel I rather sit in my hot apartment with no air conditioning and watch my DVD of a fireplace crackling over your selection of Freddy Prinze Jr and the kid from Malcolm in The Middle’s giving movie’s the old college try… Good day to you!

The staff is generally pretty nice. Not the most attentive, but what do you expect. I’m only really writing this review to point out that I like the Monthly Movie Pass 2DVD plan. This is where you can rent any 2 dvd’s and as many dvd’s in a month as you can bear to watch. $ 30+tax. What I do is when I have a lot of free time in a coming month, I’ll sign up for this plan and watch a whole lot of DVD’s I’m embarassed to say how many I will watch in a month, but basically I’ll get caught up for the past 3 – 4 months of not watching dvd’s. I’ll do this for one month every 3 – 6 months. I don’t like the Total Access plan where they mail you dvd’s. The movies can get lost, delayed and keeping track of the dvd’s can sometimes be a hassle. The only good thing about the Total Access plan is that they have a huge selection that no store can match. Back to this particular store… it’s in the Ralphs center… great parking underground and street level, but summer time, I park underground to keep the car cool. There’s lots of other businesses and restaurants and of course Ralphs so this is where I usually shop for food, dvd rentals, Starbucks, Quiznos, Coldstone, cheap Chinese food so it’s a lot better than the first reviewer. Yes, the prices for used dvd’s is too hign, but who in the heck wants to buy used dvd’s when you can watch a hundred dvd’s in a month for $ 30(if you have the time).

There is really no point to be at this place. Used videos are prices way too high. Rental selection is atrocious. Parking is a terrible.
