Was driving home from Hollywood back to Garden Grove city and decided to get a drink for the hour drive back w the boyfriend. Was kinda skeptical because I hate trying new boba places especially in areas I’m not familiar with but I do not regret it one bit. Their milk tea is go-to and my boyfriend got the Thai tea and it tastes so authentic I just love it. I absolutely recommend.

The workers here are so nice! There’s a mini parking lot so that was convenient. The store itself is quaint and clean, with cute décor and signage. They have quite a selection so that there’s bound to be an option for everyone. Oh and if you buy a certain amount of drinks, you get a free poster(of hood Marilyn Monroe and other pictures of LA). I’ve never gotten a free poster at a boba store but that just won brownie points! Dopeeeeeee. The sweet older man who made the drinks and gave me them was so jolly and welcoming! SUCHGOODSERVICE. The drinks itself were okay. I got a taro blended drink that apparently uses powder as well as real taro. Nothing out of this world but good enough for me if I ever happened to want a boba fix.

Really good boba and a nice clean store. I like the mango slush and watermelon slush here. I would recommend this place to everyone that is in the koreatown area.

Meh. But also, I’m not much of a boba fanatic. I’ll have some, but I don’t go out of my way for the boba. I have plenty of friends that do… but I will not feed into the asian stereotypes. Not this time at least. This place has two sizes. KFC bucket and the KFC bucket on top of the building. It’s cute I suppose. But I don’t need to keep my gonads at subzero while I drive because they don’t fit in my cup holder. Cute maybe, impractical YES. They have a shaved ice that’s like those super shavy shaved ice… like butter(which I like), but its SUPERSUPER sweet. diabeedus sweet(and you know only people who pronounce is like that are obese). and it was HUGE and it was kinda pricey for some shaved ice($ 10) All in all. This place is aiite.

Price was average. Approximately $ 3 – 5 bucks per drink. The drinks weren’t that great and over priced for their taste. This place can’t compare to the boba shops in Rowland heights that I usually go too. The reason for that is I can still taste the powder in the drinks which I didn’t like. We got the milk tea with boba, Korean rice drink, and the hot Americano coffee. Customer service was poor when I went, but I would come back to double check on service when I’m down in Los Angeles.

It was my first time coming here. The first time I came here was with my friends. This place has a great atmosphere. =) I’d definitely will be coming back. Lol FOOD&DRINK — 3 stars I ordered the Taro Milk Tea w/Boba. I liked the drink I ordered, however my friends didn’t like their drink(Milk Tea w/Boba) as much as I liked mine. Lol But personally, it was good although it could have been better. We also ordered Honey Brick Toast. Surprisingly it was actually good. XD But I wouldn’t say it was worth the amount we paid for. CUSTOMERSERVICE — Good I have a rating of customer service from 0 being the lowest(not worth rating) to excellent. The list starts from Excellent, Good, Okay, Worse, 0. The customer service was good at this place. The guy working at the cashier was nice and friendly. Very good looking as well! :D He was also very helpful in his recommendations when we asked, although we ordered what we were comfortable with at the end. Lol

I really like this boba place. I ordered the Green Tea slush and it’s one of my favorite green tea boba drinks I’ve had. The employees were friendly and the drinks were made quickly. There were tables and they serve snacks here, which I did not try. Prices are a bit more than other boba places, but if I’m in Koreatown and by here I’ll stop by.

Meh wasn’t too crazy about this place. They have a wide selection of different drinks to choose from and I decided to go with the Almond Milk Tea with sea salt. I didn’t taste the sea salt at all. It was also way too creamy/milky which covered the almond taste a lot. It was a decent drink but not one I personally would order again. Also the prices here are a little steep for boba. Much rather would go to the other big boba spots instead for the price. They also have snacks and desserts to eat which I did not try. Overall, I didn’t get the right drink for me and maybe I will give this place another shot if I am in the area and craving boba.

I was really looking forward to checking out this boba place, and when I had a chance to do so, it didn’t live up to the 4-star Unilocal ratings. First, the super cute chubby penguin was one of the reasons why I wanted to come here. Yes, it’s all about that chubby logo and the fat cup. Ordered a sea salt green tea, and was expecting to get the fat cup(medium). However, the cashier informed me that this drink only came in a small size. Okay, no biggie. I paid $ 4.25 + tax and waited for my drink. A few minutes later my drink was ready. To my surprise, the green tea was chalky, and I assume it must be matcha powder mixed into the drink, with some sea salt mixed in too. Ugh! Are you serious?!? Whenever I order sea salt green tea, the sea salt is in top of the tea. And I didn’t order matcha green tea– so I was expecting green tea teas brewed. ERRRRR. Verdict: will not be returning. Sorry chubby penguin.

I’m beginning to understand that the boba shops in Koreatown are very different from the ones in San Gabriel Valley. Rather than using high quality teas, they focus on fruity artificial flavors and desserts. I stopped by Boba Story on my way to get Korean BBQ with some friends because I had some time to kill. I asked the cashier what their specialty drinks are and he told me boba milk tea. WHAT? Boba milk tea is the most generic drink you can ever get at a boba shop. Then I asked him if there was anything with aloe here. Sorry, but they don’t have aloe. At that point, I gave up and just asked him what his personal favorite drink was. He recommended the watermelon slush. The watermelon slush was OK. it didn’t taste bad, but it is definitely made with artificial fruit flavor or a ton of simple syrup. Their drinks come in the short stubby cups like Half n Half. I’m not a fan of those cups because they never fit in any cup holders. It’s cute until you spill your drink all over yourself while driving.

The honeybread was awesome. Their servings are huge, place is so cute and very clean. Recommendations are mixed grain boba, green tea boba and cookies and cream boba. We’ll definitely be back!

Of all the boba places in ktown Boba Story is definitely my favorite place. Their milk teas are all really good and I absolutely love their shikeh(rice water) and misutgaru(mixed grain) drinks! Although I dislike chubby cups and how impractical the shape is when I’m in a rush and grab a drink to go, the boba has a good consistency to it. It’s not too squishy and has a nice sweetness to it. Today was the first time I went and ordered a dessert. I got the churros with cream inside, although I would say it was more of a custard. I was anticipating a lighter filling and overall it was pretty good, but I would have preferred just the churro. There is parking however the lot is pretty small and street parking can be hard to find sometimes. I just park in McDonalds across the street if I really need to though.

Located in the heart of Ktown, boba story is the place to be!!! Their logo is a penguin… It’s adorable, I knew I had to give it a try as soon as I saw it. Boba story is known for their huge cups. They have one size dedicated to frappes which is the normal cup size you usually see and then a huge cup for slushies/shakes/smoothies and then an even huger cup for a dollar more. Keep in mind, the prices are equivalent to boba time and I love boba. So, if you put it that way, boba story is way more generous with portions. Too good to be true? I thought there’d be a catch to it too so I went myself. I will tell you this, there is NO catch. Boba story is as great as it seems. I recommend the milk tea. It’s REEEALLY good. You can even ask for less sweet if that’s how you roll. OHANDHOWCAN I FORGET?!! They have a bunch of finger foods that go really well with their drinks. Anywhere from popcorn chickens, stuffed pretzels, and pan pizzas to cream filled churros, funnel cakes, and sliced sweet potatoes. My favorite is the curry popcorn chicken dipped in the«story sauce». It’s their signature self made sauce. Only downside, the parking… Their parking lot is fairly small so get ready to find street parking.(It’s easy to find parking near here though so no worries) I hope the parking Gods are on your side! ANDANDAND May the odds be ever in your favor.

They have their own little parking lot, but be prepared to park on the street. I came here because I had heard that their milk tea was amazing. My almond milk tea was sweeter than most places make it, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I splurged and went for the large which was HUGE. I definitely got my money’s worth.

Charming fun place to go for milk tea and boba. This small little location is located in the heart of K-Town within a tiny business plaza. Thank goodness their sign is lit bright or I would have missed the place. When I entered I passed through the seating area and walked towards the back to order. I appreciated their list of top drinks written clearly behind the counter. The cute little girl helping me was sweet, she gave great suggestions and was patient with me while I decided on what drink I wanted. Once I made the order I barely had enough time to grab a straw and napkins before it was blended, sealed and ready to take. Horchata slush was the winner for the evening and I don’t even want to know how many calories was in that sucker because I drank the whole darn thing! It was delicious, in fact too delicious if you ask me. They only have two sizes as well: Really Large and Super-Duper Large! These drinks can be dangerous if you ask me, thank heavens I don’t live closer or I could easily see myself coming here more often. The décor makes this place even more charming, little penguins popping up all over the place give it a fun and inviting feel. I might have to find an excuse to visit again so I can choose another great flavor off their list.

Fun little spot. Clean dining room. Nice staff I ordered the«Teriyaki Chicken Stuffed Pretzel» and the Taro Boba slush The Pretzel is not what I expected. It’s merely pizza dough rolled into a snack then stuffed. Then baked. Nothing at all in the pretzel family. Not fully cooked either. Ehhhh The Boba was ok. It was grainy from the Taro powder they use but not a bad thing. Staff was nice and the cook came out and offered me a basket with a fork and knife. That was hospitality And the fourth star.

This is one of the MANY Boba places in Koreatown! The place was clean and no funky smells. The staff were ok; nothing going out of their way to greet us. I actually liked it here for the sizes. Their medium and large sizes are huge for decent prices. It’s nothing special but you can taste the powder they are using to flavor my smoothly. The place was empty so does not show me this place was popular with others but I just came her because I was craving a boba drink. :) Oh well…

Let me tell you a story… a boba story… Once there was a girl who was addicted to boba. Her friends and her family told her to ease up on it. Sadly, neither time nor effort made a difference in the ceaseless consumption of chewy, sugary balls [insert joke here]. So she encounters BS and… takes it! * GET — Boba milk teas = comes only in 2 sizes of drinks: medium pot or large pot; they had a nice fragrant flavor to it * AOK — Sweet potato«fries» = comes dusted with powdered-sugar on top… some weren’t crispy so we only ate 1⁄3 of it * YES — Bobas were well-cooked: not too mushy, not too hard, just right * YES — Ginormous menu of different drink options(milk tea, smoothies, frappes, coffees, shakes, etc.) as well as a large snack menu * YES — Few tables inside, window«bar» seats * YES — Friendly service, clean interiors * YES — Constant stream of people coming in but it wasn’t ever packed * MEH — Teeny tiny parking lot in this small plaza * WOA(words of advice): — Yes, they take credit cards

Boba Story may just have a place in the saturated boba café Ktown. The more often I come here, the more like I like their milk tea boba, which is the only drink that I’ve tried here. Boba Story serves its drink in the large 20oz boba cup like Half & Half except its sea salt series, which comes in the regular 16oz(or is it 12oz) cups. The popcorn chicken is pretty good. It has a distinctively flavor unlike most Taiwanese-based stores like Lollicup and Tea Station. It probably is because Boba Story doesn’t add basil in the mix. It definitely ranks higher than the I Love Boba chain stores for me and on the same rank as the Boba Times. Parking is a hit or miss. The private lot is very small and doesn’t have valet. And depending on how busy the Phở shop next store is, it may be tough to find parking in this area. Boba Story kind of grows on me but I worry about it sometimes because every time I am here, it is fairly empty. Maybe you should come and give it a try? You might like it more than you think.

After eating at Belly & Snout, I needed to quench my salty after taste with something sweet and was craving my boba since Western Ave in ktown is notorious for the plethora of phở and boba shops :) I spotted Boba Story and their cute Penguin kawaii cups are super adorable as well as their shop inside. I ordered the Sea Salt Almond Milk Tea $ 4.65 and it comes in one size only — 16oz — pretty good size. And bigger, I woulda have a major sugar and any smaller, I woulda have a sh*t fit, lol! I freaked out for a moment thinking about my salty foodie adventure at Belly & Snout and thank goodness, the milk tea wasn’t salty. It was the right amount of salty and sweetness for me with the creamy nutty almond taste to it. The bobas are small and soft and not hard, yay! They’re not the big 626 bobas, but the girl who made my drink gave me a generous amount, yay! The girl working the shop was a sweetie and gave me my stamp card for future purchases. This is my first shop I ever experienced on Western Ave and looking forward to future visits next time :) Parking: tight and small little parking lot, but there’s always a spot that opens up.
