So, so good. Just ordered delivery and it arrived early… Mock duck, pad see ew, and spinach fried rice are all out of this world! Will be coming back again and again… Best vegetarian Thai I’ve had in Los Angeles!

I seriously cannot say enough good things about Bulan! Amazing delicious vegan food with friendly service and speedy delivery! Their orange chicken is fantastic, so is their wings! I love their chow mein, and my boyfriend always get the prigh king fried rice. All of their appetizers are amazing too!

Yay, I am definitely a fan. Have been for many years. As per usual, I avoid the«fake» meat dishes, but everyone from friends and family who eat meat and whom I dragged there over the years do love their fake meat, especially the fish dish. I love their dumplings(grilled, not steamed), papaya salad and crispy rice salad is my fave.

Five stars for Bulan. Five reasons to like, listed below. Neighborhood-y feel, casual trendy. Met a friend here for lunch. Perfect low-key place for meeting a friend for a quiet catchup talk and an easygoing nosh. 1) Able to adjust dishes to accommodate food restrictions, such as no oil and no nuts. 2) Lovely waitress, friendly and helpful. Listens beautifully, and got a no-this, no-that order perfectly, even proactively asking if we should hold the egg. Answer yes, no egg too. 3) Vegetarian restaurant, easily turns Vegan upon request. Spicy and no spicy, also easy to adjust. The PADTHAI is how it should be, even with the veggie chicken. Which I thought was yum and not weird at all. The ASPARAGUS was al dente perfection, tofu added, nice light brown sauce, lovely and not fried in any oil because we asked. Still done perfectly. Probably steamed or blanched, but the color was lovely. The FRIEDWONTONSKIN, was crunchy puffy goodness, especially when you pour the peanut sauce over it. Peanut sauce over everything? Yes please. Not too thick, not to thin or runny, it was just right consistency. It doesn’t contain anything inside, but perhaps they have stuffed ones… THAIICEDCOFFEE, yum, and the waitress proactively asked me if I wanted it made with soy milk, yes please. 4) Plenty of street parking. but read the signs. I parked on Santa Monica, but you can also park on Manzanita too. It’s on the corner and there are a couple of seats al fresco. But we sat inside, looking out onto Santa Monica. 5) I liked the food so much, I did TAKEOUT. Take out in microwaveable containers, a plus if you microwave, which I don’t. I plan on steaming them later for dinner. DRUNKENNOODLES has VEGGIEPEPPERSTEAK in it, tasted great and had a meat-like quality, I liked it, we’ll see if a non-VEGAN person will eat it and know the difference. Teehee. :-D OVERALL: I want to try other things on the menu. Great little gem.

Ordered Veggie Fried Rice & Orange chicken entrees for delivery. It was an hour and fifteen total time to wait although quoted an hour. My food was cold. Not the greatest Thai or service but, it’ll work.

Ordered pineapple fried rice for delivery, specifically stating I’m vegan so no egg even though the order doesn’t come with it just to be safe. When I opened the box I saw what looked like egg all up in it. I gave them a call and they assured me it wasn’t egg. I took a few bites and it’s definitely egg so I gave them a call back and it took forever to get the manager on the phone which she then proceeded to tell me it was not egg and that they don’t put egg in their pineapple fried rice. So then I asked if its not egg then what else is it, her answer was«I don’t know what else is in there because it’s the cook in the back who makes it. You just don’t understand our food» Obviously!!! She told me that I’m not allowed to order from there again(wasn’t planning on it) and she said she would refund me for it. First and last time ordering from them.

Came here because of the good reviews, maybe I had a high expectation but this place wasn’t that great. Got the pad Thai and pad see Ew– was kind of dry and bland. For the price of the dishes I would go to a different Thai restaurant.

Great Thai food, excellent vegan food. The staff is awesome, delivery is great from here as well. Their bathroom is utterly disgusting, but everything else that this restaurant has to offer can make me wait until I get home.

Favorite restaurant in LA. They have two locations, one on Melrose and the other in Silverlake. Their«beef» phở is the best phở I’ve ever had… Real meat or fake meat. The flavor in the broth is beyond words delicious. This is a must try for anyone who likes again food.

Their gluten free noodles are not impressive. I’ve since started ordering from My Vegan Gold since they have a larger variety of GF options.

O Bulan, how I miss you! It has been too long since I’ve sat in your quaint restaurant staring out the huge front bay windows. It has also been too long since I’ve invited your curries or fried seaweed roll into my home. I’ve consistently gotten my delivery in half the expected time. But then, I lived within a 15 minute walk from the restaurant. I miss this restaurant.

There is much take-out & delivery available in Silverlake — some good, some OK& some as useful as wet cardboard. Then there is Bulan. If I could live on their food alone(and I probably could) I would be a very happy, healthy and full person. Every criteria you can think of, they excel at. The service is bright & cheerful, the delivery as fast as humanly possible and the food is fantastic. Warm, delicious and you honestly feel you just ate something really good for you. I recommend them very highly & very enthusiastically.

I am in love with this place! It’s clean and comfortable if you eat in, but I usually take out. I love that they ask if you need utensils and use environmentally friendly containers so we don’t kill the planet eating vegan food! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because they have blah spring rolls(they taste like some frozen ones you can get anywhere) and their glass noodle salad was dry and bland. On the other hand thier tofu larb is a stand out! I have actually tipped the container after to drink the dressing after I’m done! Amazing. Also, the seaweed rolls as an appetizer are so delicious I was so mad I tried the spring rolls instead that one time. They have good pad thai and tasty curry as well. I have to actually order more items off the menu but I can’t stop ordering the larb and seaweed rolls!

I will take the bus or a lyft from Downtown for this place. Seriously, this food is so good. I am not a vegan or vegetarian. However, I am someone that enjoys delicious food. I always order the following Hot Wings(no joke you will forget they are not real chicken) and The Drunken noodle with the pepper steak with a Thai Tea. Oh sometimes I go wild and order the Sticky mango rice. The seating is a little tight but its cool.

I love my meats, but there are some seriously great veggie restaurants in LA that are just too awesome to pass up — this is one of them. We came in for a quaint family dinner and everything on the menu looks absolutely delish! They do offer BYOB with a $ 5 corkage fee per bottle — which I think is such a small price to pay for that awesome beer or wine your hauling in! For dinner we ordered: — Thai Empanadas: 3 per order, ordered one with potato 2 with taro. I preferred the taro as it had a small sweet flavor to it. The potato empanada tasted almost like a samosa to me. — Veggie Hot Wings: 5 per order, not your typical gardein style chicken wang. It had a minced veggie meat put on a skewer to resemble a hot wing. It’s their signature dish and it was definitely worth ordering. — Pad Thai with«chicken»: So much better than I expected. I usually have a habit to order pad thai or panag curry at every thai restaurant I go to. I’ve got to hand it to the chef — this blew the meat pad thais I’ve eaten in the past, out of the water! If you love noodles, you’ve got to order this dish! — Sizziling Pra Ram: we we’re sure what to expect for this one, but the presentation on this dish was like a thai curry meeting mexican fajitas. A hot skillet with spinach, onions and other veggies then gracious topped with sizzling tofu in peanut sauce. Food orgasm. If we had to pick a favorite dish — this was it. We scrapped every bit of sauce off that skillet and licked our fingers clean of it. It was that good. — Pad Ka Prow with«pepper steak»: Definitely another great dish. The pepper steak was nice and thin and looked exactly like real beef. The texture was a bit too chewy for me. I would probably opt for chicken over the pepper steak, but the flavors merried very well together in this dish. So we polished off all the food, with none to take home. Since it was our first time, I wasn’t aware of the BYOB policy. But I’m totally coming back with a bottle of my fav red wine and some sweat pants so I can fill my belly with all this yummy goodness! The service here was very friendly and made our experience here so much nicer. Since it was our first time in, our waitress was very helpful in helping us select from a handful of popular items on the menu. Our waters were always filled and they were prompt about everything. Outstanding job in my opinion! This awesome gem in Silver Lake deserves way more than 5 stars! You definitely have us hooked — will be back sooner than you know it!

The food arrived 85 minutes after ordering and completely room temp. If you like cold thai food, this is the place. I complained and they gave me 10% off. As if that would make up for it.

You can always count on LA especially silverlake to have the best vegan restaurants. This spot is vegan thai, parking is difficult during certain hours because you need permits. But we just parked along the street, hopefully you’re lucky enough to snag a closer parking spot! The restaurant itself is very tiny, only two patio tables outside and just a handful of tables inside. My friend and I both ordered curry… I had the red curry and she had the yellow curry both comes with your choice of rice(brown, jasmine) The red curry was so flavorful and spicy(Just how I like it)! It had bell peppers, peas, carrots and you can choose either vegan chicken or beef! So delicious… My friend’s dish was more on the sweeter side but just a tad bit of a kick to it. Yummy as well! Service was excellent, my drink was never empty and food came quick. I recommend this spot if you’re in the area craving some vegan thai food!

I frequent the Mulan on Melrose pretty often, so I decided to order for pickup(via Unilocal + Eat24) after a Yoga class at One Down Dog the other night. I got the eggplant lover + brown rice. Comes with«chicken» which is my absolute fave fake chicken OFALLTIME. That dish in itself is incredibly filling. But for crying out loud, where do people PARK to eat here? Because I’m pretty sure I parked where a(complicated) sign said not to, but I figured since I was prepaid I would take 3 minutes, tops. Yes, I said a little prayer. No, I did not get a ticket.

I really like Bulan a lot. I’d do 4 stars, if not for the extra charge for rice, when I buy curry or other rice requiring dish. They always offer it with that«you’d orbit to order rice» helpful tone. But then, it’s an extra charge. Then the shrimp tofu is quite a bit more money than chicken. That’s sort of odd. Now, service is good. Delivery takes long. But, … The food is great. The yellow curry is my favorite. A real win. I don’t go often or order it out much. Why? After all, «it’s your favorite,» you exclaim. Well, rice seems to be a key piece of the meal and it’s not included. I’m odd that way
