I come here regularly to get my coffee fix and I can’t believe people would write a negative review about this place. I usually go in the mornings to pick up a small order for my co workers or just a drink for myself and they’re always genuinely sweet and generous. They usually pack some cookies for me and always greet me with a smile. I also come here to study and never have I once gotten a complaint about using their wifi or outlet. Although I love all of their coffee drinks I can’t say the same for their mitsugaroo(grain barley shake?). I feel it would taste so much better with some agave nectar or honey. As for their desserts, they usually have cakes, macaron, and other pastries. The only complaint I have is their small parking lot but then again its better than street parking! It’s really hard to find an establishment that delivers consistent quality and service but Café Giverny does this effortlessly.

This is an accidental found café for me and my girlfriends. We were next door and decided to walk around the block when we found a seemingly empty parking lot and thought to ourselves«where are the people here? We went in without expectations-and out of my surprise as only one foot in, I fell in love with the store! I wasn’t too experimental when it comes to food in general, so to play it safe; I ordered coffee macaron and affogato… It was ahhhmazingg! I ordered an iced mocha, but I didn’t quite liked it. It was way too strong(stronger than starbucks, yes it’s possible!) my friends ordered the teas and the cheesecake, those didn’t disappoint at all! The place used to be a house, we were told. Owned by a Korean couple, who are extremely nice and so accommodating. The café was inspired by an artist in the France, Kevin(the owner) said. I have yet to try this place for s study place to go to, but will def. be an ideal location. The ambiance and the vibe is just so relaxing. There is nothing about that I do not like. I think I have brought everyone pretty close to me in the store, that is just how much I adore this place.

I came to Café Giverny to celebrate a surprise birthday celebration for a friend. I made reservations for a group of 13, and the owner was very accommodating with making the reservations. Although they forgot about my reservation, we were still able to sit in the big enclosed space to ourselves, so we were happy about that. The interior is very cutely decorated, and everything is very clean here. Café Giverny has limited parking, but they still have a on-site parking lot. The owner was so helpful in helping me do stacked parking in front of the house. He was nice enough to help me get out of the tight stacked parking spot as I was leaving as well! I think the hospitality of Koreans are often times underrated or overlooked, and I really appreciated the willingness and helpfulness of the owners here. The inside of Giverny was super cute and cozy. I’m guessing this was a house converted into a coffeeshop like how Yellow House next door is. I wasn’t able to walk around the entire house, but there’s definitely more seats than what the Unilocal pictures show. We ordered from the tea list, and I really liked my White Pear hot tea. You get your own cute teapot and teacup. My friend found out they get European teacups like from England! They also serve Susina cake, so my favorite triple berry cake was available as well. Even though the tea was $ 5.95, I think it was worth it because you get your own teapot and you can sit, chat, and relax here with friends. The price is not uncommon for Koreatown coffeeshops, so I’ll definitely be back the next time my girlfriends want to hang out! Give this cute café some love!

This place is way too expensive. I only had their tropical green tea but that was $ 6+ which I think is not worth. It was good, but it was not worth the money. They have some good reviews, but frankly I don’t want to try at slice of cake for $ 10. The ambiance is very cute and they have nice coming music with good vibes but I don’t think I’ll come back again. The owner is very nice and friendly tho and everything is so good and clean.

Love the interior decoration of this place and the special drinks they had. I tried the white pear tea! Definitely recommend to check this place out if you want to have a girls tea night out or for date night. Great Victorian décor with nice lighting and classical music in the background! Good for studying here too since there is strong wifi signal and lots of plugs as well as seats to sit at!

Tea time with your grandparents That’s kind of what it feels like whenever I set foot in here lol. Pros: Love the atmosphere and ambiance. Very quiet and peaceful. Tea pots can be refilled a few times. Their signature slice of berry cake is really good. Other teas and snacks are nice too and it’s all baked and made fresh in that house. Owners are extremely nice and accommodating. Nice little artsy stuff that gets displayed around the house and can be bought. Free parking. Free wifi Cons: This place has been picking up in popularity lately so it can get a bit crowded at times. It was originally an ordinary house so parking is a bit cramped, but not unmanageable. A little bit pricey for items sold, but average priced if compared to other cafes and being able to refill your teapot makes it more worth while. Bottom line: The one bad review made me a bit sad. This place isn’t a study café. they have places like Starbucks for that. Parking is free, but it gets cramped sometimes and if this place gets even more popular. I suppose you can do the $ 2 valet at Yellow House lol. I usually visit this place after dinner for a little dessert and tea with my gf and another friend every other week or so. I hope we don’t annoy the owners too much because sometimes we get a little bit loud when we’re exchanging stories and what not. The menu isn’t really big, but you come here for the atmosphere and ambiance and it’s just really relaxing. I’m a bit biased toward this place, but it’s definitely a must visit if you’re ever in the LA area.

Cute little café in L.A. Giverny is where my favorite artist Claude Monet’s home is. Also famous for Monet’s drawings of his beautiful garden there. I love Monet and once I heard the name, I was drawn into visiting this café. It is a cute little home that has been converted into a café. Atmosphere is cute & cozy. It is a perfect place to come with your pals and sit a while to enjoy your coffee/tea & maybe even some desserts. I am all for supporting small businesses & mom/pop shops. Espeically when you can experience their accomotations & effort to make your visit to the place a great one. The owners/servers were very nice. The older gentleman(the owner I think) took time to explain the menu & drinks and checked often to see if we were doing okay. My overall experience here was great. My highlight at this place was the cake from Susina bakery! The beautiful cake was just yummy and delightful. Funny the cake isn’t from the café but it was a perfect pairing for the coffee that I was having. A different scene for having coffee in K town for sure~ so go & enjoy your choice of beverage!

This was my first time going to a tea house, amazing to me because I love love tea. So you could imagine this to be like a dream for me. And it really was I love the whole idea behind it. It’s pretty quiet but not quiet enough where you feel like you have you whisper. They have really nice violin music playing which sets a really calm and elegant feel. It’s such a relaxing place to be at. The service is great too the owners of the house were so sweet to us. We ordered 6 little macaroons and they were pretty yummy. I believe I got the lavender tea(one of my favs) and I was sooo pleased with it, came in a really cute tea pot with a little tea cup. My boyfriend got a mocha and be really liked it too. He’s not a big fan of tea, they have a few other options for people who don’t want tea. Anyways, we loved it here and are so happy we found this place definitely will be back. Also love how they’re open late since we are always looking for a late night spot with cute offerings!

Nice place to go with friends to chat and catch up. Music is soothing and not distracting at all. Also, people aren’t too loud, so it’s quite nice! Most impprtantly, this place has good desserts, tea, and coffee. I love their macarons! Service is good, too.

It wasn’t particularly spectacular or not spectacular. The clientele was a bit older(mostly people in their 40’s) than I expected, but perhaps thanks to that the music + atmosphere was a bit quieter and my friend liked it because we could talk easily. The coffee comes in a super cute teacup, but the portion is super small… they let you get refill of americano once but even with that together it barely makes it like one tall cup of coffee everywhere else. The menu is a bit limited. The decoration was ok, but I think it could have been cuter(I might have expected a bit more because the photos looked SUPER cute and I love kitschy things). The bathroom faucets looked cool though. They do have a parking lot but oh man. it’s kind of like parking lot from hell. It’s super tiny and you can’t tell if there’s a parking space unless you go into it, which is behind the café. If there isn’t a spot(and there probably won’t be!) you have to reverse out of the parking lot through a SUPER narrow path hoping you don’t scratch your car… I didn’t but it took me awhile haha.

Charming place for a pot of tea & solid berry blossom(its from susina) cake! I stopped by for a tea time and we absolutely loved it! The entire place is filled with exquisite paintings(the owner says artists change seasonally). Loved browsing through the paintings. Also loved looking at the owner’s tea pot & tea cup collections! She actually uses them! Our tea & cake was served on her beautiful china. The couple were so welcoming(husband and wife). I felt like i was invited to someone’s house for a tea time. It saddens me to read negative reviews. This place was meant to be a quiet tea time/art gallery. Though it may seem perfect for study sessions(quiet with rooms) its evident that the owners did not intend this place to be a study café. I also see that they have a separate meeting room in the back! No extra charge for the room rental(just need to purchase an item per person) Will definitely plan a meeting here!

If you want to hear something outrageously true, read my review below, and make a judgment for yourself on this business: I’m a college student so I’m always on the lookout for cool places to study. I stumbled upon Café Giverny upon a friend’s recommendation, and I instantly liked it. What sets this place apart is that they have big tables, solid wifi, and soothing music-perfect for studying. I’ve came here 4 times, and the experiences have always been good. The coffee I believe is overpriced, but hey, I’ll pay 6 dollars for a small cup of Americano just for their ambiance. The place is run by a staff of 2– husband and wife(or so it seems). Now today, I went there for a 5th time with a friend. We walked in at 3pm, placed our bags on a large table, and I went to go make my order(note that my friend does not order yet because he knows that the portion is small, all the iced drinks are like half ice, and he wants to wait a bit until he gets it). My order is the usual $ 5.40, and I leave 60 cents as a tip for a even 6 dollars, which is 11%. At the time, I considered that a relatively fair tip since I went up and ordered myself, and the fact that I were to go to any other café like a Starbucks, I would leave 0 tip, as I believe is standard practice. Fast forward a few hours, my friend and I are quiet the whole time minding our own business and doing our homework, when suddenly the wife comes up and demands that my friend orders a drink or get out. Embarrassed, he profusely apologizes and orders a drink. Out of habit, he forgets to tip since he’s at a café, which is definitely his fault, and we accept responsibility, but more on that later. Shortly after, my friend begins to charge his laptop. The lady then comes over and freaks out at him in Korean and broken english. We tried very calmly to explain to her that we didn’t know that the outlet wasn’t for use, but she kept making the same statements over and over. At the end, she asks if we’re Korean, and we tell her we’re not. So, we move a table over to use the outlet there. She comes over and freaks out again and says that this outlet is also not for use. We again apologize profusely, since we didn’t know. Keep in mind that there’s no sign or anything, just an outlet sitting there. She then asks us again if we’re Korean, in which we say no. As we’re packing up to leave, the husband calls us outside and says he wants to talk to us. He asks us how long we’ve been in the US for, in which we tell him most our lives. He then tells us that we are banished from the café because we didn’t tip enough. LIKEWHAT. We got so confused. He then tells us that my friend forgot to tip, we instantly apologized and offered to tip, but the husband says no and says to never come back. All this time, the wife is speaking Korean and patting my friend on his back for some reason… ANYWAY, like yeah. We understand their point of view that we didn’t tip enough, but they definitely should’ve given us a headsup instead of being so rude. Yes we were there for a while, but they don’t have that many customers and there are always tons of open tables. We’re just there, quietly doing our homework and sipping the coffee that we paid for. I just went back and looked at my bank receipts, and I’ve always tipped at least 10%, once as much as 22%. Part of me is wondering if the fact that we’re not Korean got us kicked out. In conclusion, my final recommendation would be that this a real solid place with poor ownership. If you do go, make sure you are Korean and that you tip handsomely. Very disappointed by the conclusion of these events.

This place is soooooooooo cute! It’s like you’re having your own tea party. We got a mocha, vanilla latte and a berry blossom cake. BERRYBLOSSOMCAKEFROMSUSINABAKERYISSOGOOD. You HAVE to get it. It’s not too sweet and it melts in your mouth. The coffee is just typical, nothing too special. The beans are a little on the stronger side but nothing that made me wanna drink it more. Service is awesome!

From the street it looks like you are about to go inside and play grownup tea party… I needed all my stuffed animals to sit around the table and fake drink from the lovely tea cups and plates this lady has inside. You can’t get a more mellow atmosphere and the service is very attentive/thorough. I could have taken a nap at the table this place was so peaceful. Prices are definitely much too high, but then again par for the course in LALA land. Coffee and tea was good, standard… just not too loving on the $$. IF you are craving a pastrami or ham sandwich… sweeeet Lordy Lord!!! Although it’s not very big and a little naughty on the wallet… the level of detail, love, and layering put into this sandwich made my taste buds sing a sweet peaceful Asian melody. Not to mention perfectly toasted. I sank my teeth into that layered piece of art and didn’t want it to end. You may want to go round 2 and order another. Quite unexpected at a tea/coffee place… but gee willikers you go for that gold while you are there!

Cute place for someone who is easily amused by kitchy things. Apparently they have amazing coffee but I mean I am not willing to shell out $ 6 for tea-sized latte. But my mom LOVED it here so I mean you’re really just paying for the atmosphere which I completely understand.

Super cute little tea room. The service is great. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They have a small menu of desserts and teas to choose from. My friend and I ordered the lavender earl grey tea and macarons. The tea was served in adorable little tea pots and it was really good. The macarons were what macarons should be, scrumptious and cute. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their dessert options. I wish they added a little more décor. It feels slightly barren and lacks a tiny bit of charm that would bump it up to 5 stars.

Such a pretty café and its only been around for 2 weeks in Koreatown. Café Giverny is located on Oxford and 3rd Street almost right next to Yellow House Café. I street parked to go to Yellow House Café a couple days ago and saw this café opened so I decided to come next time and I came back the next day. The interior is very pretty and cute with the Piano by the entrance with many tables inside. I sat on the right side of the café but theres more private areas to your left. This place seems its family operated and the couple(owners) were super polite and nice. Until end of the year. they are giving out free macaron with any coffee or tea purchase. To make things even better, the macarons they are giving out is Duverger Macarons and they were pretty moist and soft. I was offered green tea and earl grey macarons with our Tropical Green Tea and Earl Grey Jasmine Tea. Tea had very good scent and I managed to take the tea bag out after a couple minutes so it was not too strong and it perfectly complemented with macarons. Really nice and european-theme furnitures with not too little or too much decoration, makes this café look really cozy and warming. I know they offer valet parking maybe until 10PM but I went after 10 so there was no valet. Free parking behind the building. However, the entrance is very very narrow so if you have a big car, I recommend you dont go in because it is also hard to come out. Other than that, its a great café to visit. They also have free wi-fi.

Friend and I came for coffee but ended up staying for a few hours so we ordered tea and dessert too. It was exciting to see the place as it was being built so it was a pleasure to come in during their grand opening and experience what they have to offer. Unlike the bustling Yellow House next door, Giverny is a quiet getaway. It’s the perfect spot to while away the hours, dive into that book you’ve wanted to read or simply get some work done. The house is furnished with mid-century style tables and embroidered linen curtains to match. It’s soft and relaxing rather than cramped and chaotic. Music loops easily in the background. They’re evidently new to the café business as they offer only tea, coffee and pre-made dessert. In time they may extend the menu with more personalized choice offerings. For what it’s worth, everything they offer is quite good. We ordered lattés, tea and macarons. All delicious choices. Our server Anna was lovely and took extra good care of us. When I paid at the counter I chatted with the owner, who was polite and courteous. Enjoy free dessert with coffee while the promotion lasts for the grand opening phase. There is parking in the back of the house but you can find a spot anywhere in the neighborhood. The place closes at midnight. I’ll be back for more. Thanks, Giverny.
