Charles Benjamin Salon

I have only been in LA since July. Anyone who has every made a transition knows the peril of searching for that certain someone to cut their hair. My first haircut here was a disaster. I actually think the chick was drunk. But the fates smiled upon me when I found Carlos at Charles Benjamin Salon.
Carlos was recommended to me by my manager and he is absolutely fantastic!!! He is such a great guy, and he gave me an awesome haircut! He first asked me what i was looking for, and then he gave me his suggestions. We went with it, and my hair turned out great. I have gotten numerous compliments.
I HIGHLY recommend Carlos to anyone and everyone. Don’t think, just call Carlos and book an appointment. The salon is open and friendly, and a great environment for anyone. I have been to MANY stylists over the years, and to say he is amazing would be an understatement. Wherever you may live in LA or Southern California, it is totally worth the trip. I was more than impressed with my experience, and those of you who rely on Unilocal to find good service, look no further. Give Carlos a call!

I was there on 10/​09/​2010 to do my Brazilian. Carlos did an AMAZING JOB!!! So happy with his work. Its really as good as it gets. The salon has great energy to it. Funky music playing in the background and customer service was spot on perfect!!!
I will without a doubt go back there, and of course refer him to ALL my friends!!!

I went in to Charles Benjamin Salon to take advantage of a promotion I had heard about and I am now HOOKED!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new cut and color. Had my cut done by Carlos and he is awesome!!! On top of that, the place has a great vibe and is very comfortable. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

My first visit to Carlos was in 2008 when he was working in a salon in Palm Springs, CA. At that point it had been about 2 years since I had a real haircut and besides I was on vacation… why not try someone new? I wasn’t sure what I wanted and I have a horribly round face which limits me to certain hair styles. Carlos decided he would make me a «bombshell». Carlos is a magician! 100 times better than any other haircut that I’ve had. I don’t have all the details on how to get this look but I think long layers are involved. The only problem is that I have to plan my visits to L.A. around my haircut. I’ve tried several stylists in my city but no one gets it just right. I recently stopped by Charles Benjamin during my Great California Road Adventure of 2010 to check out Carlos’ new digs and of course get a cut. The salon is clean, the complex has valet, and Carlos is a gem! Go to Carlos, you won’t regret it.

This is a «best kept secret» no longer! Carlos is a find – personable, skillful, talented and completely focused on his clients. I first discovered Carlos in Palm Springs. He later moved to Fred Segal in Santa Monica where he developed a considerable following. And now, with his own private salon, which is small but fully equipped, he is at the top of his game. Convenient location and easy parking too.

i work in the loft next door and was SO excited when Carlos opened his salon! also, i totally agree with Megan’s comment earlier and this is the first salon i have completely comfortable in! Carlos was so great, I have a hard time explaining what I want (esp. with hair) and he knew exactly what I wanted out of my haircut. I honestly enjoyed everything about my experience at the Charles Benjamin Salon — Carlos always has fun music playing, is a great conversationalist and does an amazing job! (Even the hair washing was an awesome mini-​head massage experience!) The Charles Benjamin Salon will definitely be my new hair-​cut home — can’t wait to see them grow!

I LOVE this salon! You know how some salons have a vibe that says they’re too cool for you? Well, this is NOT that kind of salon. It is a small, boutique style salon that really makes you feel comfortable. It’s an intimate atmosphere with only a few stations and a few stylists. Carlos O. is my stylist and I have been going to him for years. He is very talented and I have never had a bad haircut from him. He is really creative and very knowledgeable — he always has great ideas for new looks and can tell right away what kind of cut/​color will work for you and he’s always able to execute the look to a «T». If you’re looking for a new stylist, someone who will understand your hair and help you look your best, then I highly recommend paying Carlos a visit. :)
