Charlie’s Trio Bar & Grill

Before heading out of town, we stopped in to grab a «quick» dinner.
First, not only was the parking lot full, but there was limited street parking left.
We were seated quickly and greeted quickly. This is where the service goes from good to bad. I can only guess that this was our server’s first night as a server. For example, I ordered one glass of wine and was brought the wrong kind and then it took a while to get the correct one. Although I had ordered water, it was never brought and I asked a busboy to bring me one. Server did not check on our table or even look in our direction and we had to yell out across restaurant to get soda refills.
We only ordered 4 entrees (no appetizers, salads) and it took over an hour to get our food. I ordered the shrimp scampi. Although the linguine was supposed to have a lemon garlic sauce, the noodles tasted very plain, like there was no sauce. Husband got the deep dish pizza, which was huge and the cheese was good. Teens had calzone and linguine & clams. They hardly ate.
When we finally got our bill, we still had to flag someone to pay it. Our server looked like he had only 3 tables and I could the other table patron’s frustration.
Mediocre food and terrible service.

I went for a run with my girlfriend and it was freezing when we got back home. There was nothing we wanted more than a warm bath and delicious Italian food. Reading the reviews of Charlie’s Trio fit the bill and we ordered it to go. The food was prepared without too much delay and we quickly picked it up and headed home. The spaghetti with meatballs and eggplant parmesian were very full and hearty. It hit the spot and we were happy with our choices. We ate and watched the walking dead, both of which did not disappointment. We will definitely eat here again.

Friendly wait staff and a very warm welcome when I walked in to pick up my togo order! The Eggplant Parmesan was delicious and filling. They have 50% off wine bottles on Monday and Tuesday — will have to come back and try that out :)

I’ve been here for lunch, happy hour and dinner and always have a great time. Food is delicious drinks are tasty and service is good. So refreshing to spend your hard earned money in a place that doesn’t act they’re doing you a favor.
Friendly environment, bar section has tvs for games, parking in the back… will definitely continue to eat/​drink here.

Take a look at my garlic bread. WTH! I am so dissatisfied and disappointed. I do not know why I keep coming back.

First time ordering take out normally dine-​in. I always get their tasty Broasted Chicken which is always tender, moist, and never greasy. Yum!!! Wasn’t aware that they had a seperate takeout menu different from the dine-​in which does not allow substitution. Crystal, who took my order over the phone, heard my disappointment and had hooked me up with the swap of sides after talking to her manager. I was very happily surprised. I will definitely order again with Crystal and Jackie, both went above and beyond to make a customer happy. Thanks Lovely Ladies!!!

manuel was our waiter who was fabulous, he suggested the clam chowder, fabulous, wife ordered something healthy she said it was fabulous, I ordered the tortellini, fabulous, probably not as healthy but who cares thats why men die before women haha. Our new favorite italian restaurant.

First visit, nice busy place. Great customer service by that cutie Gerard. Drinks are good but unfortunately, unable to sample food. How about a few pasta-​free dishes for us who are gluten sensitive?

This is one of my favorite places to go for a romantic dinner with my husband! The prices are decent for the amount of food and quality of service you get. This is one of the few restaurants that always gives me nice seating.
I’ve also been here for the mother’s day buffet. The price was very fair! It was beautiful! The food was great!
There’s always parking. There’s a nice bar I haven’t had a chance to hang out in, but I’ll get there.
The food is always fresh, tasty, and served hot! I’m getting hungry writing about it!

Spaghetti and meatballs was rich and tasty (photo 160). Remember that the lunch buffet with broasted chicken, pasta with mushrooms, potato wedges ect. is what most people come for.

Additionally, waitresses Naomi & Veronica make sure everybody in CT’S bar don’t go thirsty or hungry!

The wife and I stopped in for a quick lunch. The staff was friendly and professional. The food was excellent and so was my Pancho’s punch. The spumoni for 2 was exceptional as well.

Okay, this was my first time here and I came because my friend suggested it.
I didn’t have high expectations bc I have a hard time finding really good Italian food (Sicilian style) in LA… But DAMN! This place is AMAZING!!!
The food is AWESOME — we had Risotto balls, heirloom tomato and burrata salad, Charlie’s Napoli pasta and finished with a sorbetto. Our server was awesome too… she was super friendly, super courteous and super efficient!
Not only was the pasta sauce they make amazing, but it tasted like authentic Philly Italian pasta «gravy». And after the insanely professional and handsome manager, Gerard, came over to our table to chat with us and see how everything was, we found out their chef was from Philly!!!
The BEST Italian I’ve had in LA and I can’t wait to go back!

As I walked in this morning, the staff were very respectful and very attentive. The bartender was on point and bar back was there to refill my drink as well as take my plates when finished. As I continue my quest and party on you’ll, What more can I ask for after a nite out before.

It was NOT GOOD.
We ordered New England clam chowder, the soup was not hot at all, more like slightly warmer than room temperature.
Also ordered Charlie’s Trio Combo, it’s ok, nothing special.
Last thing is salmon and risotto, TERRIBLE! Salmon overcooked and dry. Risotto is the worst I had so far!(sorry to be mean… but it’s true!)
GOOD service.
Won’t be back again.

My cousin brought me here a year ago, and every time I come back to visit I have to eat here. Their BBQ chicken pizza is phenomenal, and I could eat 100 pounds of the bread they serve you before your food comes.

Okay I have been holding off on writing this review because I hate to say it, but this place was terrible. I sent back my dinner two times, which I never do because the meat selection was so dried out and tasteless. I did not even like the mash potatoes they tasted terrible. No flavor at all. I don’t even know how you can mess up mash potatoes. I would never go here again.

Clueless would be the most kind description I could give for the staff tonight.
First, I arrived toward the end of the Sunday dinner crowd. Five empty tables. No line of people waiting. Hostess made me wait for a two-​top anyway.
Order my usual — salmon & risotto with a pomegranate reduction «please ask them to go heavy on the reduction» (Nothing worse than getting to the end of the meal and running out).
Waiter brings basket of bread, bowl of oil, but no plate to put it on. Doesn’t come back until he brings my food.
When he does return, he says with a straight face, «Here is your salmon, extra reduction.» He puts the plate down and leaves. I suppose by «extra» he was referring to the dime-​sized drop on an otherwise dry plate. When he finally comes back, he gets snippy with me. At this point I told him to take the plate away and just charge me for the wine. He walks away and tells a manager, «YOU go talk to that guy.»
The best part, dumbo brings me another glass of wine and tells me that I ordered it!
When he brought me my change, he topped off his performance with a very disdainful, «you have a good night sir.»
Worst Charlies Trio service ever.
I cannot even review the food, which is normally excellent, because this idiot ruined the whole experience.

The place has a nice ambiance and a hugeeee selection of wines! My BBQ chicken pizza was great, loaded with flavorful chicken! We ordered a lot of food to go and they had everything nearly packed with utensils. Was happy with their service and everyone was super friendly.

Die Bedienungen sind sehr nett und die Auswahl ist auch ausreichend. Ich hatte damals eine Spinatpizza. Die war einfach nur genial!

My bf and had a huge craving for Italian food @10pm and this Restuarant seems to be the only one opened and with decent reviews so we decided to give it a try. The pizza was a bit on a sweeter side for us but overall good … We both enjoyed the paste more and tiramisu is a must have! It was delish!!! Our server Giovanni was super nice and very tentative. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.
