The food was average, nothing spectacular and the spicy mayo tasted as if it was spoiled. Not recommended if you’re looking for fresh or enjoyable

Their sushi are not good! They probably should rent a legit sushi chef! I dont understand the waitress too, a native speaker would do!

I’ve never tasted an ass before, but after experiencing sushi here, I now know what an ass tastes like. Most definitely the worst sushi you can ever get. I think it comes out of the sushi chef’s ass once you order here.

I totally get it when everyone is saying this place is made for tourists. 3 stars for the nice waiter and host. Food is below average. Definitely not authentic.

Very nice location with a great view especially when u air next to the window but other than that it does get busy and when it does the service gets worse. They don’t come to your table often dot even when you really need a beverage refill or you’re in a rush to go somewhere else. Besides the service the food is pretty good but I don’t think it was worth the high prices. I could get the same food somewhere else and it would be a whole lot cheaper and fresher.

Please avoid this restaurant. The fish was not very fresh for the price. The servers seemed really unenthusiastic. Also, avoid the drinks like the plague. The margarita was the worst drink I have ever had in my life. It had an odd, chemical taste that I could not identify. I wish I could get my money back as this place was not cheap.

Great location but taste is really bad, ramen tastes like instant noodle. BTW, price is too high with respect to their bad food

Seriously the worst Sushi in LA. Originally went for Shabu but found it to be pricier than expected. We had a few orders of sushi starting with a «tuna Carpaccio» in other words, Sashimi. It wasn’t bad. I ordered a Combination A which was 7 pieces of sushi(chefs choice) and a spicy tuna roll and a wilted brown Miso Salad that was edible but not great. Not sure what most of it was but there was shrimp, salmon Tamago and a few others. The fish was tepid if not almost warmer than room temp, slimy and a couple pieces were fishy smelling and tasting and not in a good way. After trying to chew on a gristly pice of white fish I had had enough. I had to spit it out in a napkin and ask for the check. The service was acceptable we went mid-day so there was no crowd at all. The kitsch-y confused décor was right at home in Hollywood but really odd. Do yourself a favor, drive or walk a few blocks to one of the hundreds of great sushi spots near Hollywood and eat some food that will be memorable for better reasons. For now I’m going to brush my teeth yet again in hopes of escaping the after taste of bad bad sushi.

This place is great! But I live near Sawtelle where Japanese good is so pimp that 4 stars is hard to reach. We were just catching a quick bite before a show at the Hollywood Bowl, had a large group and wanted a quick healthy bite. This place was perfect. Sat a party of 7 chicks quickly and comfortably. Prices were normal, not overpriced at all for being in H&H.

Disappointing. You’d think being located at prime real estate like Hollywood and Highland would mean this place is good. It’s not. Despite being advertised as Japanese food, the menu is a weird jumble of Korean, Japanese, and other Asian food. All mediocre choices with no character. The sushi is even more mundane. It’s like they are trying to imitate 10 different restaurant menus from 10 different places in LA. Even the California rolls were weak. The location is good and the service was ok. Basically, this place is for tourists or for people too drunk to be aware of what they’re eating. Not a place for those who love food.

5 stars for the décor, ambiance, and location. As far as the food goes? Big disappointment. Came here on a recommendation from a friend with a large group, and thought it’d be a fun place to try out. This place is good for groups. The 2 star rating is based on their food and prices. The sushi here is not fresh, at least when I went. The sushi, though edible, was very low quality. The prices were high, so I had decent expectations, but really, I guess you’re mostly just paying for the location and atmosphere. They do have alcohol, which is a plus. The menu is seemingly comprehensive and has a lot to offer: shabu shabu, sushi, kbbq, etc. Maybe other kinds of food here are good? Who knows. For the price, I think I’ll go elsewhere next time.

Parking is always a nightmare when u come to a busy mall like this. The only thing I really enjoyed was the view of the place but nothing else. Service was OK! They do validate! It’s smelled weird when I walked in which for me as a sushi lover was already a set back but my gf wanted to try it out so we did. I got the tuna tartar and it was actually pretty good but the sushi was like at best 2⁄3 stars! Not so much and I ordered cooked sushi would not risk eating raw fish there. Anyway probably not gonna come back and it’s over priced :/ Service was ok but we constantly had to look for our waiter but he tried to be attentive when he would get there, which always took like 10 min to find him. Many other places I enjoy more then this w a view and better food at same cost :)

Three stars for great service but the food disappointed on a major level. It’s located in the Highland plaza and sits on the third floor overlooking the shopping area. Great view especially on the patio but unfortunately that’s about it. I came in for a late lunch during the weekend and ordered the sashimi salad. I’ve been trying to watch what I eat so I normally dip my salad in the sauce instead of drenching it in there. A few bites in I noticed a lot of withered salad leaves gone bad and immediately brought it to my servers attention. They took it off my check and the manager came over to apologize. I didn’t really eat anything else because I didn’t feel like waiting so that was that. The manager and server was extremely nice though. That’s about all I can say.

This place is aitte. Not good and not bad. It’s like fine. Muy regular. Came here for Shabu on a lunch break. Only thing I can really say is that they didn’t give me enough vegetables or noodles with my meal. But, I really can’t hate because it seemed like the amount a regular human being should eat and not what I want to eat. On the other hand, for the price they charge, it should be noted that the amount of noodles was equivalent to about one Chinese soup spoonful. I may come back here, but probably won’t. Kinda pricey for a lunch and there’s better options for dinner. Come here for convenience if you’d like.

Geared towards tourists, expensive prices and not at all authentic. I can’t believe my udon cost me $ 15 for lunch and I was hungry a few hours later. We were desperate for food — that’s my only excuse. Pass, pass, pass!

We love the Shabu Shabu and sukiyaki here. Shabu Shabu is a clear broth with veggies and you swish steak, chicken, fish in the water. Served with warm rice this little slice of Asia is one of our go to spots. They serve sushi but I honestly haven’t tried much but the salmon sashimi. The slices are thick and the portion is generous. We ask for sliced white onions to add to the hot pot. The dipping sauces are what will make your meal memorable. The sesame for veggies after they have cooked, the ponsu is great but even more so if you add the green onions and grated daikon radish. There is also a flavorful spicier red sauce that is my husband’s favorite. Great for friends and kids too! Enjoy

SUSHISASHIMIBOWL $ 30(4⁄5 NOMs) Slap me with some fatty fish just like in Sushi Sashimi Bowl from sushi restaurant in a heart of Hollywood Los Angeles. Such a beautiful bowl of sashimi we can’t wait to dig in. So many different things in there like fatty tuna, salmon, octopus, shrimp and so much more. Great representation of all the different seafoods they have to offer. Of course Fatty Tuna and Salmon were our favorite. Just something about those makes us so happy. Must be all that omega! Something about that rice was so different and tasted so good. Its like they added an extra dose of crack into it. None of us could stop eating it and even asked for more. For so much money kind of wished they gave you more sashimi. TEMPURABAGELSUSHIROLL $ 13(5⁄5 NOMs) Yes deep fry all my sushi! Just something about deep fried and covered in eel sauce that make me all hulk hungry for more. FEEDMEALLYOUSUSHI! This is one of our most favorite sushi roll orders of the night and of course in part because we love deep fried things, but also because of what was in this sushi roll. It packed with a nice amount of tasty ingredients like salmon, avocado, cream cheese and topped in spicy mayo and eel sauce. So crunchy on the outside and gooey soft on the inside. Just love the cream cheese and salmon combination. Its like the perfect textures and flavors that were made for each other. Even though it says spicy mayo there wasn’t too much kick too it. This sushi rolls make for one very beautiful dish, with so many colors and patterns it looked like a work of art. It was so good that it was with no surprise that we ate all of it in a blink of an eye. Only thing, not sure what makes it a bagel though? SALMONSUSHIROLL $ 6(5⁄5 NOMs) Let the fatty salmon shine in a nice and simple roll. Simple sushi like this is what really showcases’s restaurant’s ability to pick out a great fish. Nice and fatty, the salmon was the main attraction in these rolls with so much flavor and softness. Nice and soft rice with seaweed wrapper on the outside to keep it all together. Even though this need no extra flavor, you can always add a nice dose of wasabi on top for that extra kick. Sometimes you want something nice and simple without a tone of toppings, sauces and crazy elaborate creations. They are a bit small, but then again you are only paying $ 6 when everything else is much more expensive here. Just go and get two orders if its not enough. ORANGEBLOSSOMSUSHIROLL $ 13(4⁄5 NOMs) Let your sushi flower blossom on the Walk of Fame. We are all about the special rolls because they are the most fun and out there sushi creation. In United States sushi is all about that wow factor to packed as many different flavors into one roll. This sushi roll does not disappoint with a nice kick of spicy salmon topped with even more salmon and tempura flakes. Just in case spicy salmon didn’t give you a kick there is even more masago and masago sauce on top. As a true California creation it comes with a fresh avocado inside that helps decrease some spiciness. SEXONTHEMOONSUSHIROLL $ 15(5⁄5 NOMs) One small step for men, giant leap for sushi kind with Sex on the Moon Sushi. This sure looks like an undertaking as big as a landing on the moon with so many ingredients packed nice and tight into sushi rolls. Its the double layer of goodness with inside fried shrimp eel, avocado, cream cheese and asparagus and outside topped with smelt row, fresh tuna, tempura flakes, eel sauce, spicy mayo, scallion and caviar. Just love all that fatty tuna and thick ell. Things are always better when they topp it with a whole lot of eel sauce and some extra spicy mayo to keep your taste buds on their toes. Wow that is a whole of things going there. They just might be prepared to supply the whole moon expedition. With so much going on every single bite has a different combination of flavor explosions. Makes for one great experience as you can’t truly expect same flavor combination in every bite. Its not one of those light sushi rolls, so better share it with a friend of two. Not surprised this was one of our most favorite rolls from the sushi noming night. CURIMAKISUSHIROLL $ 14(5⁄5 NOMs) Walk down a sushi walk of fame with Curi Maki Rolls. This is one of those more unique and less traditional sushi rolls. With a cucumber wrapper it comes packed with an explosion of flavor and colors with salmon, tuna, tamago, masago and mayo. Nice and crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside. You can really taste the nice high quality fat fish. Since there is no rice, its really all about the fish and sauce combination. It does have a little kick at the end after you done eating and gives you that extra flavor jolt and lasting impression that would make you want to eat even more.

This restaurant is located at the Hollywood/Highland Center, so it is more geared for tourists than locals. Staff greeted us after a few minutes wait and we were seated promptly. The place was almost empty. The menu reads like a tourist menu with lots of pictures. Food is overpriced. Two of my tablemates chose different types of sushi and they were happy enough, but don’t expect Matsuhisa or the equivalent. The California roll was basic and uninteresting. The fried rice was greasy. parking — $ 2 in the Hollywood/Highland garage for 2 hours with validation

We needed a quick lunch while visiting downtown Hollywood and were feeling like something light. So we stopped by here as it looked decent. Pricing was a bit more expensive but this is downtown Hollywood and options are limited. I must commend the décor of the restaurant as it is decorated very ornately. Onto the food. We ordered some sushi and a teriyaki chicken for my wife and daughter. The chicken tasted very ordinary and my sushi was nothing legendary. It was okay but in my opinion overpriced for what it was. We ordered 4 rolls California roll — 2.5÷5 Spicy Tuna — 2.5÷5 Tempura shrimp — 3⁄5 Salmon skin– 3.5÷5 They did have more expensive and elaborate looking rolls but I refuse to pay what I deem as $ 10+ per roll. Call me cheap but this is unnecessary in my mind. I would declare the food as edible but not a memorable experience. Décor is what has made me give this place a generous 3⁄5. Don’t come here with huge expectations as you will be disappointed.
