Recommended by a friend. Fantastic food quality. We came here early after visiting Griffith Observatory and boy are we glad we did. This place fills up FAST with dinner crowd. For genuine Korean BBQ this place rocked.

I have been coming here for the last 20 years. I love this place. The meat is really good. Ice cold beer and ice cold soju. The owners are very nice always smiling and very respectful. What else do you need? Rodney

I dont know how to explain this place. Its so not modern or clean looking its just very old school i guess. The only reason I will went was because their gal bi and chicken wing was good! BUT just went a few days ago and their gal bi is not the same anymore nor was the chicken wing. This place is known for their gal bi too. This place is falling apart and run down. They should either remodel and get better cooks now. Sadly this place is the only meat buffet place I believe that still around. They should make their restaurant better.

My favourite KBBQ place! I’ve been going here for years and I’m glad it’s just as good as it was before, if not better! The meat tastes REALLY fresh and the gop chang is spot on.(If you can, get the chicken!) The owners of the resturant were super nice and the customer service was spot on! Will continue to come here whenever I can

We were very excited to find this place, as we’d just had several strike outs trying to find an open Korean bbq. This was THEGROSS! At first I thought the weird, ugly décor was a good sign, because often you find these little strip mall places that look like someone let your aunt with dementia make the interior design choices and they’re hidden gems. Then we were pleased to see it was buffet style, leaving us to try whatever we’d like. And then I was jazzed because they had fermented soybeans and cold kimchee soup. I shoveled a big fat forkful of soybeans into my mouth and I was so, so sorry. My mouth was all like, «don’t you dare swallow that!» And my throat absolutely refused to let it pass. The meat was flavorless, pleasure less, not even helped by dipping it in the provided sesame oil. Nothing we ate brought us any joy, and we showed up full blown hungry. Then we went to the register to pay. Oh, damn. It was weekend prices, which are only displayed at the register. That was $ 30 a person to punish our mouths and our stomachs. In summary, if you hate someone and they insist on taking you to lunch, give this place a try.

Really awesome AYCE korean BBQ. You go and get everything including the banchan, rice, sam, soup, yourself. They had tasty mackerel and squid for my friend who only eats seafood. The rib meat was well marinated and so soft and tender. Only thing that prevented me from giving 5 stars was that they were very slow to refill water. Oh well next time we will ask for a water pitcher for the table. Still worth a return trip again and again :)

This is an awesome place — be sure to tell them you want the $ 14.99 special before you sit down. You just skip short ribs and get a great price. The meats are awesome, the buffet setup is easy and fast, and the additional meats and side-dishes are plenty full — including a salad bar. Free parking outside, spacious.(Hint, there’s also other restaurants in that strip mall, but why bother ;-)) Oh — and extra bonus, they welcome you as a single guest, something most Korean BBQAYCE places refuse. Worth it!

Usually no lines to get in this high quality Korean BBQ. The meats are premium and everything is very clean. One of the OG spots for Korean BBQ and gets overlooked a lot. If you’re looking for Korean BBQ without the line, this is the place to visit!

What is better than serve-yourself korean bbq buffet? The ahjummas were always helpful in grilling whatever meat/seafood/innards/veggies you are cooking. The meat choices were plentiful, including some guts and innards. They had a few seafood choices as well. Soju that they are serving is 20.1% =) The sides were self-service as well. The only thing is that for the past few times I’ve been there, I couldn’t find where the garlic is and I love garlic! I always forget to ask one of the ahjummas coz I was too busy stuffing myself with everything else! Yes the grills are old(I think the tiles make it look old), but hey! I’ve heard it is one of the oldest K BBQ in Los Angeles. They’re clean so I have no complaints. The ahjummas were kind enough to change the grill plate even without you asking. Since it’s self service, I think this is the BESTKOREANBBQ in the city of angels. Its my happy place. *oink! Sanggeupsal more!

Endless meat. Check. Self serving buffet so no there’s no waiting. Check. This is a great place to go if you want to eat like a king and have the freedom to sample as little or as much of their«meat buffet.» FYI… Just remember that they charge you for whatever you don’t finish.

I don’t know how this place has four stars. I love the format of this Korean BBQ. The meat, appetizers, and the salad bar are all open buffet style so you can pick and choose how much you want. There was quite a good selection to pick from, including soups. But the quality of the meats was just mediocre, and the appetizers were not great at all. It looked like they had been sitting out for quite a while. Even worse was service. The waitresses were all very unfriendly and barely even looked at you when you asked for something… and we needed to ask for water several times because of how inattentive they were. The restaurant/atmosphere itself wasn’t the nicest either. It also didn’t really feel all that clean. Definitely not coming back. Not worth the price.

The buffet style is cool, but I’m not a fan of their quality of meat. The sides were decent, and they had a random salad bar. They were good about making sure their meats were quickly replenished, but it took a while before we got water refills. I got a few splatter burns from the grill, but no big deal. Overall, I wasn’t totally impressed.

Solid place for ayce k bbq albeit the outdated décor. I liked it that u can bring your own meats instead of having to order from the wait staff. Which was awesome bc if u just wanted to try one piece of pork belly, you could! We had mostly their Galbi. The marinade was nice, not too cloyingly sweet like some other places. The quality of the meats were above avg. I also liked that you can pick your own banchan from the buffet. Their korean miso(dwenjang) stew was delish! The prices are reasonable, at $ 24 a pop. Go there hungry, maybe after sweating it out at a k spa/jjimjilbang for a few hours. Thumbs up

Reasonable price at $ 25.99 per adult; good varieties of AYCE marinated meats, soup and banchan(side dishes); table-side cooking/grilling service available; and the best of all, No Wait Time! To me, wait time is an important factor in customer’s satisfaction, and i hate and hate and hate to wait an hour or two just to be seated, which can be very frustrating. Located in a strip mall, this place looks shabby; according to our server, Choeng Wun has been around for 30 years! Wow, 30 years of authentic Korean cooking is cool! Food is no bad at all, and I really do love the pumpkin soup, which is smooth and creamy! Everything else is standard but dessert is lacking.

I’ve been coming here for years — correct that, dragged here for years — always kicking and screaming. The problem is that my family gets coupons for some meeting they hold here monthly, so when having dinner with«the family», I have very little choice. So I make that sound as if this place is horrid and I am forced to eat here, but that’s not exactly the case. Honestly, their food is not bad. But looking at the entire package and the price at which it is offered, I can’t honestly give Oo-Kook and Baekjung 4-stars and give this place the same rating. Here’s the deal: $ 22AYCE dinner. They have a dozen or more meat from L.A. Galbi to intestines to chicken, two dozen or so side dishes, desserts, rice and porridges, and a full salad and fruit bar. Sounds pretty good, but the fact of the matter is that the«other» stuff cost less and stuffs the same stomach that meat would otherwise go into. So to me the more«other» stuff you have at an AYCE, the less it should cost. Just my opinion. Another issue I have is that the quality of the meat is about mid-range, more on par with Bud Namu(at $ 17) than Oo-Kook($ 25). Actually I think Bud Namu is better quality… Their food has gotten better since the AYCE wars began(plagiarizing Jessica Y), so it is fresh for the most part and that wasn’t the case several years ago. Honestly I would rather pay $ 3 more and go to Oo-Kook or Bud Namu, where at that price you also get real galbi. And their side dishes obviously can’t compare to those of more traditional Korean restaurants, which has them caught in between neither here nor there. Last week(a weeknight) they were pretty busy so I guess it still works, but for me I’m either going to commit to a kbbq-focused or a more traditional restaurant, not something caught in between. Times are a-changin’. Table-for-1 Factor: Think all their tables are for 4 or larger, but I suppose you can. No one will really notice, I think.
