Clade

I stumbled across Clade at random when walking around downtown with my fiancée one night. I am a fan of really nice, exotic fabrics, and upon walking in it was sensory overload.
I immediately started touching everything I saw. Maya (the owner/​designer) sources and uses the best fabrics, from goat skin leather to french terry to silk/​cashmere blends. I wanted to wear almost everything I saw.
Maya’s silhouettes somehow pirouette the line between being progressive and classic. As she explained to me, she doesn’t follow seasonality trends, she tries to create garments that will be in style for the next 10 years. I also appreciate that she doesn’t brand her clothing, it’s all about the fabric and style.
I ended up purchasing a few pieces that first time I walked in, and I also asked her if she’d be interested in designing a custom ao dai for me for my Vietnamese engagement ceremony that was coming up. She was really excited about the idea, and we ended up working closely together on it for over a month. She drew it up, prepared a sampling of fabrics, buttons, detail pieces, liners, etc, and fitted me. The entire process was marked by creativity, clear communication, the right amount of urgency, and and understanding and appreciation for what I wanted. Her tailor absolutely nailed it. When I walked out at the ceremony all of the Vietnamese people were blown away by it.
The custom piece wasn’t cheap. Her garments on the racks aren’t inexpensive. But everything she sells in more than worth it, they’re well made and unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere. And she has a fun, positive personality on top of everything else.
I would highly recommend Clade/​Maya to anyone into high end men’s fashion, as well as guys looking for a custom wedding tux/​suit, performers wanting to look fly on stage, etc.

If I said i loved these clothes it would be an understatement. I met the designer at a music festival and she told me she was a Mens clothing designer. We hit it off great but I had no idea her clothes would end up becoming such a big part of my look. As a professional musician and music producer, cutting edge fashion is very important to me. But theres something special about Clade, and I think its that Im not just wearing sick clothes but Im wearing all the layers of passion Maya Reynolds weaves into every piece of clothing. In short, wearing Clade makes me feel as though I’ve been noticed and thats a feeling no other designer has ever done for me. i got married in all Clade, and I still rock that jacket on stage. Bam

Super elegant men’s wear not for your average man. Extra attention to detail which I love in every piece, and a rock and roll meets luxury style. If I were a man my entire wardrobe would be bought here. There aren’t many people who put the kind of thought into their work like Maya, the owner and designer does. The draping and fit of her pieces is outstanding and make men look instantly amazing. I love visiting her shop to see what she is working on.

I love this place. Dan is such a great stylist and always ready to help. Maya Reynolds the designer is such a sweet heart. I love their clothing very high end and couture. You have to check them out. I have a few of their sweaters and i love them.

My Husband and I are OBSESSED with CLADE… We have bought a number of pieces from the designer over the years and follow all of her new collections.
Clade is for the distinguished, ninja, high fashion man, explorer, gypsy, traveler, mad scientist, rock star… Her store is for the modern time traveler right in the heart of downtown los angeles… Designer, Maya Reynolds also has ARTWALK nights where the store front is a party on the regular collaborating with other artists and designers… She is an artist and elevates mens fashion like a true visionary with street appeal… GO GET SOME.

I bought an amazing silk and cashmere sweater that has been complimented in Beijing, New York and Paris. The details and styling on the leather jackets, shirts and slacks are inventive and flattering. There are pieces that are collectibles and then some unusual takes on the basics.

CLADE is my favorite purveyor of accessible basics for men who are anything but.
The shop is a buried treasure in the heart of Gallery Row. Inside, shoppers find clothing that is designed in house by owner Maya Reynolds in an artisanal way, before being produced right next door in Downtown LA’s very own garment district. Her work’s offer men a tasteful departure from contemporary conventions without ever failing to assert their owner’s masculinity.
CLADE’s style is timeless.

I own three pieces by Clade: a shirt, sweater, and the beautiful Gonzo leather jacket. All three are high style, totally wearable and incredibly well made. I will drop in on Clade to see Maya whenever I am in Los Angeles!
