Just to warn you, this restaurant is small. Think café, really. Also, the décor is a little too dark for me. Other than that, the place was honestly good. The service was good… not great, but good. The food was the highlight, as it should be. I also found the selection to be unique and flavorful. Yes, they have the traditional dishes like the chicken tikka masala, tandori chicken, and so on, and they were all good. BUT, they also had a variety of rice options I have never had before. I was impressed by this. Also, their naan was thinner and crispier than I have had before. I really liked that. Overall, this was a good meal and I will be back. Try it! I like

…So our order arrives within the 45 minute mark. We forgot to order rice so it stays in the bag, while we cook our rice at home. Next thing, the delivery girl calls and says she has to come back for the order; it’s someone else’s and will exchange. Ok. So 6 min later she takes the bag back saying another customer complained that they got the wrong order. Seems like her fault but ok. Sigh. No order to give in place btw, but says will be back in 5 minutes. ??? Almost 15 passes, and she appears. I ask is this food fresh or from the other recipient(yuck, was it spooned back off a plate?!). I ask concerned as you would be, and I’m told it’s fresh from the restaurant. The mind boggles skirmishly at this point. Oh, it’s not; the naan is cold and the main dishes are lukewarm. And the meat in my girlfriend’s dish was chewy. Fast forward. I immediately contact EAT24( Unilocal) via email. Next am I get a call from a concerned agent. Great customer support btw’s. They will liase with restaurant. Finally, I am approved to get a roughly 12% discount. NOTGOODENOUGH. NO, NO, NO And the tip for the ‘incompetence’ you had bringing my food, doesn’t deserve it. That should be coming out of Clay pit’s pocket also… So all in all, no dice, no bueno. You could have made it right. Keep my money for the crap meal and experience. Because it’s the last me or my friends will be spending there.

I cannot begin to comprehend the five star reviews for this place. Perhaps they are due to the lack of delicious Indian food in Los Angeles? My friend tried this place twice: once after not enjoying his first experience and twice, feeling the same way that he did after experience number one. He then agreed to go with me since I convinced him that«there must be some reason that the reviews are so great!». It turns out that he was right and I felt sorry for pushing him to go with me(and I will forever be indebted). The three stars represent credit to our server who was incredibly kind and attentive. However, the food was very heavy, overly sauced and left us both feeling a little sick. I have to wonder if the good reviews were taken over from the Unilocal page of the original Clay Pit in Brentwood which was indeed delicious! Unfortunately, they closed down :(I am sad since this place is walkable from my house and I had high hopes. My search for great Indian food in LA continues!!! Luckily next week I will actually be in India for a month. Bring some back? No…

Wanted to try something new and decided that a 5-star Indian place was a good place to start! Unfortunately, I was not as big of a fan of this place as others. I’m not sure if I just ordered the wrong dish, but I didn’t find the food very good. I actually ended up feeling kind of sick afterwards(which never happens with me and Indian food).

The Food Here is THEBESTINDIANFOODINLOSANGELES!!! We have been searching for great Indian since living in California and we have finally found it. This is only my second Unilocal review. I never take the time to leave reviews but I have to today. The food is Fast, Fresh, Authentic, and Delicious. The server was so nice and sweet. The restaurant is quiet. Definitely a hidden Gem with an Amazing view. We ordered so much food! The Vegetable and Lamb Samosas, vegetable pakora, lamb, Tofu curry, okra and lentils and it was Soooooooo Good!!! This is my new spot for Indian food and they also deliver! I’m truly happy.

Authentic Indian food at a fairly reasonable price. So happy they’ve arrived in my neighborhood. Been twice since they moved in just down the street. Visited often when formerly located in my old hood, Brentwood. Nothing has changed. Just as delicious & unique. Makes ordering in way too easy!

This place is such a great addition to the bel air area! Delicious food, ordered the chicken tikka and saag paneer and both were some of the best I’ve had in la! Will definitely return soon to try more of the menu

High up in the Sepulveda pass hills, Clay Pit seems like it is a great choice for take-out. While there are a small number of tables here, they seem like an afterthought. We came by from a nearby conference(Clay Pit is quite near Skirball Center and Milken Institute, too). Our friendly host took a non-stop marathon of take out calls during our meal, and a parade of happy folks shuttled in and out to pick up their tandooris, a few of whom we chatted up amicably. The food was quite solid – strong tandooris, a great salad, and excellent chicken curry, too. Samosas and naan breads rocked, too. No alcohol yet, given that the place is applying for its liquor license, but very solid Indian food, no doubt one of the best in this part of town.

This is probably the best Indian food in Los Angeles and ranks very highly compared to some of my favorite places in NorCal. I’ve eaten here twice so far. Once as take out for lunch special. The amount of food you get is really good with respect to the price. But I didn’t get as much curry as I would have liked, so I came back for dinner on another day to eat in the restaurant. I ordered the: Chicken tikka masala Saag paneer Onion kulcha, and Chicken biryani. Now we’re talking, I got so much food for my wife and I that we had left overs. And we even ordered the rice pudding to go because we were too full to eat it there.

We are SO happy that Clay Pit has opened in the Bel Air area! Their food is truly the best Indian food I have had in a very long time! We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Brown Daal, Garlic and plain naan bread, Saag Lamb and Aloo Gobi. They were all fabulous! Hint: Have medium it has the perfect amount of «heat». Welcome to the neighborhood, we’ve definitely been hoping a good Indian restaurant would come to our neighborhood and our wishes have come true! Thank you Sonia and Johny for a wonderful yummy dinner!!! We will be seeing you often.

About time a proper Indian restaurant made it to LA! We moved here from London a few years back and have yet been able to find a decent curry. We were boring and only ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Tandoori Chicken. The meat was super tender and the flavors were spot on. It reheats really well too! The staff were very friendly as well. The only downside was that it was a bit pricey… but it’s in Bel Air and they have a captive market so no real basis to complain.

Amazing food and service! What a wonderful addition to the bel air community. They’re pretty new and are doing more take out and delivery(free within 3 miles!), but we decided to dine in and I’m glad we did! We tried the Chicken Tikka masala, garlic naan, lamb vindaloo and for dessert the golabjamon(fried cheese balls in honey syrup) or however you say it. All of it was perfect, and I love spicy so I asked them to make mine a bit more than usual and they were very accommodating. I’ll definitely be coming back here for lunch and take out in the future!

This is one of the best Indian restaurants that I have been to in LA. The owners are kind and the food is amazing! We ordered: Appetizers: –veg samosas –shrimp fritters Entrees: –okra –chicken tikka masala –saag paneer(spinach and cheese) Sides: –saffron rice with peas –garlic and original naan Desserts: –Honey syrup cheese balls(the best!) –milk pudding They have just opened so the inside is still a little undecorated, but for one of the few restaurants in bel air it is not overpriced. I would really recommend coming here!

Recommend to everyone as great food is hard to find and amazing indian food is our nirvana. The owners are on premises and always happy to offer recommendations.

I have been super excited about trying the newest addition to our Bel Air Neighborhood, Clay Pit, ever since I saw the sign 2 weeks ago. Clay Pit is a North Indian Cuisine, that was previously open in Brentwood Village. I was delightfully surprised at how delicious everything tasted, even with the basics from the Papadum to the Spicy Savory taste of the Mint Chutney to the Raita. My favorite being the Lamb Curry. Yumm. Appetizer: Vegetable Samosas(filled with Potatoes & Peas) with the perfect crispiness of the outer pastry cover. Entrée: Baingan Bharta — delicious Eggplant(Vegetarian) dish Lamb Curry — I asked for it very spicy. I loved it & savored every bite. Sides: Raita is always a good side to your entrees & rice/bread. Creamy, flavorful yogurt with a hint of cumin seeds. Garlic Naan — Light, crispy bread perfect with the entrees. They do deliveries & catering throughout Bel Air, Brentwood, Beverly Hills & Sherman Oaks. Lunch specials are around $ 10 and they have Vegan & Healthier options too. Friendly owners who are accommodating to your dining experience. Highly recommend it!

Welcome to the Roscomare Road neighborhood! This place opened on Christmas Day(yesterday) and has a full menu of great-tasting Indian dishes with eat-in, pick up or delivery all available. Warm friendly service — and they’ll make your food anywhere on the heat scale, from mild to very spicy. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, Clay Pit Indian Kitchen is a great new addition to Upper Bel Air. If you live in the neighborhood or commute thru it, order by phone or online and they’ll have it ready in minutes. Classics like Chicken Tikka Masala and Coconut Chicken Curry are delicious and the Naan is just perfect. Try it and thank me later.
