Attention Los Angeles Youth(and parents of such): Constitutional Rights Foundation is a community organization that you don’t want to overlook. A few years ago, I applied for their Youth Internship Program, and got more out of it than a paid summer job. CRF not only focuses on providing job/program-specific experience to students who otherwise would not have the opportunity, but pours their resources into developing teens who are aware of social conditions and political matters on both a local and national level. In the couple of months I was a part of CRF, I was able to witness the staff’s dedication. They went a way’s length to create interactive educational workshops, city excursions, and appointments with policymakers, so that we could not only engage with the issues-at-hand, but have a voice in them. Ah, I have so much appreciation for this place, and the dedication they have in staying true to their vision.
