The Chicken Parmesan is off the hook! One of a few Restaurants that serve Chicken Parm with real Italian Spaghetti — not noodles. Hate Chicken Parm with noodles, o.k.

Coming in here a few times when I was only down the street made it easy to get here and find a seat. Dinner with co-workers are a breeze too. I was more amazed at the fact they have on the menu and serve a huge wedge of iceberg lettuce with drizzled bleu cheese dressing with crumbled bleu cheese all over this wedge. Well, most any restaurant would do this wedge but I remember seeing real bleu cheese crumbles all over the plate. It has been a fixture on the corner of Flower Street and Sixth Street. Walking all the way down here with a co-worker just to the bus stop is a good long trek now. I always thought it was an exciting place that has one of those turnstile type doors to go through or you can just open the regular door if you cannot push your way through. Now that it is closed, start writing your review if you were afraid to write a bashing one.

Food: I had a beer and it was actually good. Service: The service was mediocre at best. Our waitress took our orders and never came back. I had to get water from the bartender because she was nowhere to be found. We were there for about 2 hours. Environment: It was so loud I tried to ask them to turn down the music and one of the servers flat out said NO. Needless to say, i was not happy and asked for the manager. He seemed afraid to talk to me. I again requested that the awful music be turned down and was refused again. So, here I am, leaving a negative review. Sorry Daily Grill, I will never go back again. DON’T GOHEREIFYOUWANTTOHAVE A DECENTCONVERSATION!

Service in the beginning was very attentive. After drinks and appetizers arrived, it took over 20 minutes to receive anything else. One of the people in our party had to find the manager to see if we could get the rest of our meal. When the food was served, we asked if we could get the bill, too. Because we didn’t want to wait again for our server to appear. The appetizers were delicious. The popcorn shrimp was tasty. The tuna sashimi came with pickled ginger, fried spinach and a cucumber salad. The hummus was garlicky and tasty. The main course item we had, skirt steak, we ordered it to be rare and it was done medium. The cheeseburger was outstanding, the trout was delicious and served with a side of asparagus. Thankfully they had fantastic valet service.

Want to know how you know it’s last call at the Daily Grill? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you the second you walk in, prior to saying hello, which they won’t do. The staff may then proceed to clean while you wait for them to take your order, which is my precise experience. The woman working this evening then stared at me. The bartender eventually took my order, you would’ve thought I’d ordered some sort of mythological beverage, because he seemed like I was putting him out to do his job. At about $ 12 a drink, this type of service is pretty poor. Daily Grill needs to realize they have close competitors that are cheaper his staff don’t treat you like youre harming them for ordering. Furthermore, the bartender was cleaning the beer traps while I was waiting, after taking my order he failed to wash his hands before preparing my drink order. Absolutely disgusting. A little bit of manners goes a long way. Train your staff how to serve customers, they seem a bit entitled.

Food: I had one of the fish burgers here, served with fries and it was great. The bun on the burger was fresh and the fish patty tasted great. They topped it off with a Grey Poupon-type sauce, which probably made the difference. Service: Service was friendly and attentive. Our waitress was very diligent with refilling my soft drink and my friend’s beer. She was friendly the entire way through and definitely earned her gratuity. I’d gladly go back here again the next time I’m in this section of downtown LA and I’d gladly recommend this bar-restaurant to my friends and family.

In L.A. and looking for very good food in the $ 30 range? You will love the Daily Grill. Don’t let the outer façade fool you. This place makes food that tastes phenomenal. Hint: try the spareribs. Best I’ve ever had.

Man, I remember when Daily Grills first showed up on the scene. They were one of the first fancy chains I can think of and we were all about the cobb salad and the burgers. No commentary there, just being nostalgic. CPK and Daily Grill were all the rage. Anyhoo, actually walked in to the downtown location thinking we were walking into Public School. I’m still a little confused about what kind of relation they have. Maybe the sign just hasn’t been taken down. The bar décor is fine. A couple of t.v.s. Our waitress was a little stressed. I ended up getting the simply 600 burger. I love the concept, I don’t need a giant burger and like having the option of asparagus instead of fries. Also reasonably priced. The negative is that it came over-cooked. so much so that i sent it back and the new one was also overcooked. Tough for me to have a small dry burger. Asparagus was fine. Nice size pieces.

Another mediocre and very expensive lunch… I think that’s it for me. A friend and I had lunch today and I had the soup/½ sandwich special, and chose tomato soup and ½ a southwest wrap($ 13.50). Soup… could have been Campbells with absolutely nothing special, unique or over-tasty about it; and the wrap was actually delicious. Two bites into lunch the server came by to ask if we wanted dessert, clearly as a «shortcut» to drop off our bill and«be done with us»(that’s how that feels). My experiences at DG and very consistent… average service, way over-priced food, and nothing amazing.

Came here for a weekday lunch with a co-worker and it took them almost an hour to serve a salad and sandwich. When the food finally came the sandwich bread was stale and cold while the salad with medium steak was dripping blood. The manager was helpful and comped the food and gave us new ones to go but that defeats the purpose of a lunch out.

I think 3 stars is 100% accurate to describe my experience — mediocre. I always pass by/see this place during the day and it gets me curious(ok not that curious) to see what kind of food they have here. I remember munching on delicious paper bag fries at Public School(I think they share this space.?) and thought it was *stellar* so I thought… it would be the same yummy food. But it was ok. I think they do share a kitchen or something but I found the food at Daily Grill to be extremely average. Came here for dinner on Saturday night with like 10 people. No wait at all. in fact we seemed to be the only diners there. Service was good, but then again… there was no one else in the restaurant lol. I ordered the chicken meatballs & angel hair pasta. Managed to snag a couple fries from my friend’s fish & chips plate. Also got a nice spoonful of the mac & cheese from another friend. Took a bite of the chop house burger from my bf. Usually, I am more than satisfied with a store-bought jar of marinara and some angel hair. I do that at home sometimes — pasta with sauce only. With that said… I thought my chick meatballs & angel hair pasta was bland. The pasta was cooked perfectly, but as for flavor… meh. The meatballs were hard and kind of dry. Flavor also meh. Nothing really stood out. Bf’s burger was ok. Mac and cheese was actually pretty good, but heavy. Fries? Well, it was good, but if you do fries wrong then your restaurant is f*cked. The bread at the beginning of the meal was bomb though. Warm, crusty outside and soft, chewy insides. Gotta love bread and butter. Dinner for me and my bf cost me $ 43 dollars, including tax and tip. Considering the fact that this is DTLA, that sounds about right(or even cheap)… but considering the quality of my meal… I’d say I paid way too much.

Beautiful restaurant. Amazing service. Faruk was my waiter, and he was very courteous and prompt. A little pricey, paid $ 18 for a ½ pound burger that was good but not amazing. The bread is great. Overall, I would recommend it.

Cute diner. A little pricey. Ordered a Cobb salad. It was more of a chopped Cobb salad. I didn’t like the way it was chopped/shredded because every bite was the same. Got pretty boring. And the half order is large enough! Lemonades are delicious! Brian our server was very knowledgable of the menu.

Running in a half marathon that ended after midnight did have some negatives for it threw my daily routine into complete chaos the very next morning. Having allowed my body to cool down and return to a more normal capacity meant going to sleep late and ultimately waking up late. My breakfast was eaten at a time normally set aside for lunch. My lunch ended up being a series of late afternoon snack stops, and then there was dinner. I had completely forgotten most restaurants close earlier on Sunday nights than they do on Friday or Saturday nights, and when I realized I hadn’t had dinner yet around 9PM I rushed out to look in on nearby restaurants only to find that most indeed closed at 9PM. I was dreading a dinner at Subway or much worse, Denny’s, when I came upon the Daily Grill. They close at 10PM on Sunday nights also! Having eaten at the Daily Grill in San Francisco I did know that this is a chain of sorts, but compared to the other dining options I knew of I definitely knew I wanted to eat here. The adjacent bar was still bustling when I walked by, but the dining room was deserted. I walked in to be greeted by Kamaal. He assured me I hadn’t walked in too late and seated me in a very comfortable booth. The big menu is nearly identical to their San Francisco menu. Kamaal brought me my drink order and allowed me ample time to study the menu not returning to take my order until that specific moment when I put the menu back down onto the table. The cool thing about running distance is that it gives me the confidence to order something I know I can not eat on an everyday basis … red meat! Both times I ate at the San Francisco restaurant I ordered steak, and both times I was quite pleased. Here, I decided to go with their Charbroiled Skirt Steak, a «house specialty» for the Daily Grill as stated on their menu. I ordered this with a side of one of the daily soups the Chicken Vegetable. Much like other parts of California at this time L.A. was also going through an unusual cold spell, and I thought the chicken soup would be quite comforting. Asked if I wanted bread to go with that I agreed. Kamaal brought me the bowl of soup( ) and warm bread( ) with creamy unsalted butter promptly. To say I liked the soup would have been an understatement. The bowl of soup I was served was filled with chunks of chicken breasts, lots of soft vegetables and very little broth. It was all eaten up quite quickly. The warm bread was to my liking as well with a nice crusty exterior and a super soft interior. Just a short wait later my main entrée( ) arrived. The steak was seasoned with just a tad too much salt for my preference, but it was cooked to a perfect medium rare like I had ordered. The steak was lean and super tender, and the additional salt did not take away from the quality beef flavor. I liked the shoestring potatoes but found the portion too big even for my appetite. The steamed broccoli needed a bit of seasoning if nothing else. Throughout my meal my waiter was impeccable checking up on me on several occasions and completely reading my mind by bringing me a drink refill just before I would have asked for one. Although the food was delicious the service I received stood out the most. I was more than happy to tip a bit more on this check. Thanks for being there when I needed a delicious dinner, Daily Grill!

This is a solid place to grab some dinner. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful. For my meal I chose the Chopped Beef Steak. It was sme of thr best chopped steak I have ever had. The taste and texture were very good. The presentation was also good. They creatively trim the edge of the plate with the Red Skin Mash.

My first day working in DTLA, and my coworkers took me to Daily Grill for my welcome lunch. I guess a lot of DTLA people come here for lunch. There are tons of restaurants located within walking distance. Daily Grill is located on the corner of Flower and 6th. I work near Grand and the walk seemed fairly safe to me.(Yes, you might still run in a few strange ones along the way). It’s a nice big restaurant, and quite busy for lunch. Service was great, but if you only have 60 minutes for lunch, expect to go back to the office late. As usual, I was indecisive when it comes to lunch, but end up choosing the Chicken Meatball & Pasta off the 600 calories menu. The serving is definitely less than what I am used to, but it’s a nice size considering that it’s only 600 calories. Didn’t order any drinks/appetizers/dessert, and lunch came out to be about $ 15 each. Not quite sure if this is standard DTLA lunch pricing, but I sure miss my $ 6 lunch specials in SGV.
