Favorite place to eat by the dorms after 9pm, especially when all I want us greasy food. It closes early though… Since when does late night mean until 12? It should be open until at least 2 am. But still, the food is decent. The line can get very long, especially towards the end of the quarter when people have to use up their extra swipes.

Who calls a place Late Night, and is only open till Midnight. Now I know that to some sets of the population 0 hour is late, but come on, the entire patrons of this place are college students. I dont know what student here at UCLA calls midnight late, but whatever. Onto the food, Late Night is a montage of greedy fried confront stuff that’s ever so good for your arteries. Chicken bites, assorted fries, wings, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, burgers, chili, and more of the sort. They also do milk shakes and pizza. Unfortunately none of it is really that good. Like, yeah, it’s okay, but it’s kinda like their food is the only option. The chicken bites are pretty bland and much more breading that meat. Milk shakes super thin. Fries just okay and average. If late night was open until 2, and improved their quality a little bit, I think they would have a much, much better establishment over all. Regardless tho since they are driven by UCLA dining and are not an independent company, good luck getting them to capitalize on the student.

All right, it’s good but it’s greasy and gets expensive if you use swipes for late night à la carte(a whole swipe for onion rings? wha?). Yeah, be prepared to be unhealthy if you stay up late, piling grease on sleep deprivation, whoo.

Don’t come here during sunday nights and during finals week because it’s filled with students trying to burn off their remaining meal swipes. The chicken tenders, curly fries, milk shakes, pizza, and burgers are quite good, but naturally quite unhealthy.

Dang this place is extremely fast foody. Burgers, pizza, random things from the food pyramid heavily deep fried. Open from 9 – 12. I am sure my 12th grade anatomy teacher would faint at knowing that this place is open so late at a college campus(she’s the same person who said that Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches should not be eaten more than once a week because apparently it’s bad for you). But hey, you’re in college! Have whatever you want! I think I only came here once since my dorm was really far from here, but the food was pretty food. Not somewhere to eat often at unless you have a lot of swipes.

My favorite place to satisfy my cravings for greasy, cheesy, gut-wrenching, heart-stopping, artery-clogging comfort food. Oh, Late Night, why do you open so late? I’d eat you all day if you would but open your doors for all hours. So many swipes, so little time… must get everything! The only good thing about finals week is that they expand the Late Night menu to include breakfast burgers(eggs and bacons in burgers mmmm) and carne asada fries(not as good as authentic carne asada fries but still very satisfying). Also, props to the hard-working staff that manage to pump out probably thousands of tasty burgers, chicken nuggets, pizzas, mozzarella sticks, and pizzas night after night and somehow still continue to maintain a somewhat positive outlook on life haha.

Once upon a time at UCLA, there was a residential restaurant known as Puzzles, which has since been replaced by Café 1919 two years ago. I am glad to have experienced Puzzles as a freshman before it ran its course(not that I don’t love the goodness that is Café 1919). With that being said, De Neve Late Night is a «re-incarnation» of Puzzles, serving the same style of greasy American goodness it once had. At Late Night, which is only open from 9PM-12AM daily(hence… the name), you can get various Hot Dogs and Burgers, Fries(Regular or Curly!), Chicken Nuggets, Pizza, Buffalo Wings, even Milkshakes among a couple other wonderful things. In terms of environment, depending on what food you get, you pick it up at a designated station on the premises(since it’s based in the De Neve dining hall that’s made up of several kitchens for various foods). And then there are tables and booths strewn throughout the area. Think food court, almost. I’m warning you right now, these foods aren’t healthy. But to be honest, they weren’t meant to be. And if you wanted something along those lines, that’s what the other residential dining cafes are for at this hour. All these foods are purely for comfort after a long night of studying… and or debauchery. While I haven’t tried their burgers or hot dogs(well, I’ve had their hot dog once, but it’s been so long I don’t remember how I felt about it), here are the things I remember having here: Chicken Nuggets– Okay, so I have no idea where they get or make their chicken nuggets but these are by far some of the most tender chicken nuggets I’ve had! Pizza– I can’t explain why, but their pizzas are a bit different from what they serve at the residential dining halls during the day, even though they’re made in the same kitchen… nevertheless, they are really good, and pretty large. I love the fact that it’s a bit on the thin side. And you have your choice of topping and such you can choose from when you order it online on their website for pick-up! Fries– I always go for curly. And they used to give you the option of having them add a bit of Parmesan to it, but now you have to grab the Parmesan from the pizza station and do it yourself. Buffalo Wing– The wings are okay, but always tend to be on the overly saucy side and a bit small. But when you crave wings at UCLA in the dorms, it’s really your only option. Milkshakes– Their oreo milkshake is awesome! So, if you’re ever having those cravings for good ol’ American fast food, or you’re just letting yourself go ’cause it’s midterms season or finals week, here is the place to go!
