Love this gym! It’s super convenient because its next to where I work, however it’s for federal employees only. I love that its not crowded. And you cannot beat the price! They are currently having an offer for all federal workers, $ 60 for a year!!! That is crazy awesome! However once the year is up it will be $ 20 a month(still a great deal). There are a variety of machines to use, a weight room, an outdoor track. The bathroom has showers with shampoo and soap dispensers available. There are also blow dryers, curling irons and hair straighteners available. Lockers are also available(just bring a lock). Classes are twice a day M-W(12 – 1 and 5 – 6), Th-F only(12 – 1) check postings for specifics. I’ve seen people complain about Liz but I had a great experience with her. When I first started at the gym I contacted her using phone, email and text. I found to calling her the most difficult because her voicemail is full. Email she answered me back in 3 business days. Text was almost instant(BESTMETHOD). It’s best to try to catch her around the times of the classes because she teaches them. I met her and she is actually super awesome and sweet.

Once you sign up, you are locked in for life it seems. I have been trying to get ahold of Liz, the owner for the past few months to cancel my membership(I have gym access through school now) and she won’t return my calls, texts or even the note I left her at the gym, taped to the monitor. It seems that Liz is elusive on purpose. Edited to add: I was finally able to get out of my membership, but not without a lot of struggle involving building management. They really need to hire a person to sit at the front desk to handle these matters.

Small gym with a track with great views. It is small but it does the job.

Downtown fitness center is located in the INS building. Hence I think getting into this place is nearly impossible unless you are a City or Federal employee, Its a small gym with an aerobics studio, cardio equipment and a full weight room. People are very friendly and supportive. Outside is a ¼ mile track that is on the 8th floor and sports views of city hall, the Hollywood sign and downtown. Classes are limited but for $ 25 a month you can’t beat it.
