Dr. Bogard Chang Optometry

My family loves Dr. Bogard Chang! He takes good care of us and we trust him completely!

Love this place. Been coming here for two years now. When I first came in to get my eyes examined, the tests Dr. Chang performed showed that I needed to wear glasses. He explained to me that one of my eyes are working harder than the other, which explains why I get so tired immediately after i start to read. From the tests, he also concluded that I probably get headaches and also very light sensitive in the dark. Which is true. The glasses he prescribed was a life saver.
After picking out my frames, Roger worked with me in making sure I understood all the options with the types of lenses that they offered, how my insurance benefits work, etc. This guys knows his stuff. I always go to Roger whenever I’m picking up a new pair of glasses or new lenses. He’s very up to date with all the new products available. And the guys speaks from experience when recommending a product as well. I really value his opinion.
Dr. Chang and Roger and the main reason I continue to come here. The care and customer service here is top notch. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

This is a five star team. Dr. Chang is very welcoming and feels like he has been a friend of the family for years even though it was my first appointment. Roger asked if I wanted to look at glasses. He pulled out a pair that made my current glasses seem outdated and unfitting. Of course I’m going to get the ones he found right off the bat. He’s a master at finding glasses, extremely nice, informative, knowledgeable, and honest. Front desk girl, didn’t catch her name, was super smiley and bubbly. This is my eye doctor for life. Just fantastic and could t ask for a nicer, happier, and knowledgeable staff.

I’ve been coming to Dr Bogard since I was a kid and he has become pretty close with my family. He always hooks me up with discounts, sometimes waves my deductibles. He works very fast and is very easy to work with. My parents live in West Covina area, I live in Orange County and I drive way out of the way just to see this guy. Also great selection of glasses. I highly recommend!

Great place ! The staff are very nice and helpful. Fast. Didn’t have to wait, I had my appointment at 415 was out by 450. Love it because I hate waiting, The doctor is very helpful, always trying to see what’s best for my eyes. Thanks Dr. Bogart!!!

Chris is super helpful and listened to exactly what my needs were. Couldn’t believe this was such a good and effortless service so close to my place in Echo Park. Easy to park and easy to find. Throughly recommend this as a one stop optometry shop!

Great customer service. The assistants kept the waiting room in a calm and lighthearted atmosphere while Dr. Bogard really listened and made great recommendations based off of my needs and not just what I thought I needed. Will be going back again to them for any of my eye needs.

Saw Dr Bogard Chang for contact lenses on the recommendation of a friend.
Super informative, friendly and an infectious personality!
They also have a high end frame selection here — hard to find McQueen frames, Tom Ford and Gucci to name my favourites.
Chris was really helpful guiding me through the right style and shape for my face. Super cool guy.
Walked out with contacts, ordered prescription glasses for the days when I can’t cope with contacts, and some rockin prescription sunglasses just because!
By the way — buy frames and get your second frame at half price. Sweet deal!

I’ve been there twice, once for my Juicy Couture glasses (which I love) and this second time for my prescription sunglasses (I took my own Coach frames in).
They are patient and take their time with you. They also have a really good selection of frames. I would recommend them if you want an smooth experience. Customer service is great and they always try to help you qualify for discounts :)

Great customer service. Called in in a Saturday morning cause of an eye irritation and they squeezed me in for a noon appointment, and by 1pm Dr Chang had given me an examination and removed a piece of metal from my eye, Thank you!

The most FANTASTIC eye doctor in LA! I have never felt like a doctor cared more about my vision than Dr. Chang!
My vision is terrible, I haven’t had it checked in literally decades! I knew my left was worse than the right and I dreaded finding out just how bad it was. Dr. Chang took his time examining me, he explained exactly what was going on with my sight (nearsighted in the left and farsighted in the right) he went through several different contacts with me until we find the right fit. He also gave me the most PERFECT glasses that I swear by now!
My vision has improved so much, and it’s all thanks to Dr. Chang! I even recommended my boyfriend there who was in desperate need of new contacts and glasses. He had many eye problems caused by wearing contacts too long and Dr. Chang cleared his eyes right up!
We are both so happy we found Dr. Chang. I really can’t say enough good things about him and his staff! I so highly recommend him for your eyes!

He’s a Dr??? He is a world class rip off artist. The guy charged me $ 2500 dollars for a pair of contacts he said were custom. The were right off the shelf. I have filed complaints with the Board of Optometry, The Medical Board, and the better business bureau and MediCare and Medi-​Cal. This guy is a sham. He’s no doctor, he’s a bottom feeder.
AVOID THIS GUY UNLESS YOU WANT HIM TO RIP YOU OFF!

I am extremely satisfied with the overall experience I had in Dr. bogard’s office. The staff is kind and very helpful! (Maggie) I was in and out in 30 mins or so. Dr. Bogard is very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease with my current situation.
They also have a great selection of frames to choose from! I highly recommend you drop by! (First time ever buying or wearing glasses) Very pleased

The truest test of a business is not how they treat you before or during the purchase process but if they address your concerns after you’ve purchased their services — when you come back with questions/​concerns — at the time when they may not make extra money off of you but they genuinely care about your experience with them — even after you’ve already done business with them.
Unfortunately Mr. Chang did not pass that test today. Upon going in to get my eyes tested the first time, he was incredibly nice and helpful. It was a great experience. Then, when I came back today because my glasses didn’t feel right, he and his receptionist were short with me and seemed miffed that I came back. They kept saying that because I got my glasses from Warby Parker that they couldn’t guarantee that they were made correctly (when they were easily able to test the Rx of the glasses). They made it more apparent that they were upset that I didn’t purchase glasses with them than actually caring if my Rx was correct. I was seen late, hurriedly and was only given further instruction when I specifically asked for it («Ok, so, what would you suggest I do?»).
I would have loved to have left a better review because my initial experience was so positive but based on how I was treated today I can’t.
