Eden has so much potential; its got location and is gorgeous — but not much else. –The door is crowded as to be expected; but even the VIP entrance held us up. –Drinks are weak and carry that strong Hollywood price tag. –The music is decent. –The crowd is hit and miss. Think: ratchet. We were in and out within 20 minutes. We headed to a better club after.

This review was written 9÷30÷2010 I went last night with my girlfriends. We were met by a promoter who got us all in for free all night which was nice. The club was small, the crowd was mixed and the ambiance was nice. I ordered an AMF which was very strong for 14. Later that night I ordered a well vodka cranberry and the bartender charged me 24!!! When she heard me complain she dropped the price to 21! Wtf? I smell a scam… I have worked at a bar before and those prices are set. If any owners or managers read these reviews, pay close close attention to this one because that is effed up. Everyone else, pay close attention to prices because if you find your amf substantially less expensive than a well… there is a problem.

Love this nightclub! The outside part is so pretty with the trees. I also really like how on the inside the booths are also like stages and you can dance up on stage! My girlfriends and I love this place! We went on a Friday night, so that was definitely a great night to go!

Love the music! Being from the east coast where the hip hop is crazzzy good and always flowing, I needed a spot in LA to visit when I’m homesick or needing to whip my hair. Eden was good for both and it didn’t hurt that a couple Lakers were in the house too! Definitely going back. Drinks are pricey and the staff can take themselves a little too serious but music is well worth it.

These people are thieves — I would give them a 0 rating if I could. The bartender made me wait forever for a drink. Even when she made me and my friend a drink, she did not fill up my cup even after I repeatedly asked her to. When she gave me a receipt, I saw that she simply charged me $ 39 with no itemization shown on the receipt, meaning that she just threw a number at me. I was pissed off and did not leave her a tip. I made the bad mistake of not putting a line through the tip portion of the receipt. I just now saw that they took it upon themselves to add a $ 6 tip without my permission. How dare you! I am filing a dispute with my credit card company and they said that I will most likely be getting a full refund — take that Eden! Not only will I get a full refund on my shitty drinks, but now Eden will have to eat the credit card fees too. That’s what you get for being shady. Make sure you look at your receipt closely if you go here and check your statement after. These people are thieves!

As ghetto as it can get. I came here on a Friday night for a friend’s celebration. Never again. I was told it’s a classy, upscale place and to dress to impress. When I arrived, people were running around in t-shirts and tennis shoes. They allow smoking indoors so the whole place reeked of cigs and weed. Small venue. Weak drinks. They play hip hop music and not the good kind either. No thanks.

I went to Eden for my friend’s birthday celebration. We had a little trouble getting in because our promoter hook up was late and blah blah blah. It was my first time at Eden. I had fun. The music was great. They played hip hop music which was great. I definitely miss hip hop now that a lot of clubs mainstream clubs play majority techno/house music. My only complaint, they allow smoking«indoors». Technically the roof is open on one end of the room so that would be considered the smoking area but you see people smoking all over. Even the DJ is smoking and the security does not say a thing. I eventually had a big headache from the smoke. It’s not a huge club but definitely poppin. I can see why my friends enjoy Eden.

Nice hip-hop club with good music. My bf is really into that«put yo booty on my ****, throwin hunnids all around» type of music. lol Mixed crowd, mostly an urban type of feel. I was here on a Friday night around 12am and it was packed. A lot of people dancing and having a good time. Ambiance is great. It’s a really nice location, although it’s full of smoke(all kinds lol). I was very pleased overall.

Might seem a bit bias because I promote at this club now. But I actually really hated this place before so it says something. This place used to be Opera/Crimson which I also promoted, and couple years later they redesigned it to be Eden. And recently they redesigned it again and added the Blok8 portion to the club. Marketing wise, I don’t see why they keep naming the venues with multiple names. It should be one name, one venue. Anyways, my biggest gripe with this place was that the dance floor was so small. It’s designed mainly to be concentrated on lounging and table service. BUT, with their recent introduction of the Blok8 portion, we have a huge dance floor with lights and confetti and foggers. It feels like a completely different energy compared to the main room which is more mellow and calm. I love being able to jump from room to room. I’m pretty excited to begin pushing this place, it’s definitely took a few revisions to get to where it is now, but I feel like they finally got something right.

:sigh: don’t come here on Saturday nights unless you enjoy a more ratchet crowd and ONLY hip hop… and like not even the fun booty bass hip hop, but shit like«ass so fat I need lap dance» and«girl drop that dun dun dun, girl drop that dun dun dun, x10» Apparently Friday nights are a more mixed crowd and music… I seemed to have been elsewhere.dammit. –The venue itself is nice and I’ve never had any trouble with the bouncers and getting in(get on Jamie Barren’s list for Saturdays and RT’s list for Fridays). –The drinks are weeeeeeeak and expensive(because you’re paying for like half a normal drink). I wouldn’t be surprised if the shots of patron I’ve had there are watered down. –The crowd is interesting. Most of the guys are easy on the eyes, but the ladies range from hot to holy hippopotamus. Some people here are just down right trouble* –The bottle service area and the dance floor collide into this weird network of bs tables and two feet of space around them for people without bs to dance; so you have bottle rats all around your table whether you invited them or not. *ladies be careful getting drinks from guys here. In all my years of going out I’ve never had a problem with the occasional«hey let me get you and your friends a drink» exchange, but this was the first time people in my group(who accepted the drinks) got violently sick off of one shot(this was #3 for us and we handle ourselves, plus we all ate and were drinking water throughout the night before this). Trust me, we’re not the type to let someone make us a drink without watching them, but dude was sneaky. Granted this was only ONE time, but unfortunately it speaks to what kind of people are out there. This doesn’t necessarily reflect on the club because this can happen and does happen at other places, but they should start being a little more discerning about who gets let in. Bottom line: I’d try this place on a Friday night to see if the crowd and music are any better, but otherwise i’ll stick to my other spots.

Smooching Off Of My Roomie Adventures: Part II My roomie had the hookup to this place so we walked right in and BAM! A dimly light lounge(I don’t see how this is a club) where the crowd ranged from skanky skanks to uh, skanky skankish ladies and men. We had a table and got a view of the whole place. I have to say that I’ve never felt so uncool before. People were swaying and dancing to the rap music as if rhythm oozed out of their blood while I awkwardly tried to balance my drink and coordinate my body to make a smooth motion. It didn’t work. This place gets packed but like always, my friend gin and tonic made the night worthwhile and I kinda not really learned how to sway to rap music. Not really.

Thanks to Kathy T’s review, I was able to text Natasha for guest list. She put us on for 3 girls and 1 guy. Then there were 8 girls and 1 guy. So we didn’t have to wait in line. Only the guy had to pay $ 20 at about 11. I was pretty impressed by the club. Yes, its small, but it def is like a mini Vegas. Some house music mixed with top 40. It’s busy, but the bartenders are quick with the drinks. $ 25 cc minimum for some bartenders. Anyways, Natasha gets us in. I go straight to the bar to order a drink with the 1 guy while the girls go another way. I thought my friend was meeting up w someone else, but they were following Natasha to a table. She hooked up every one of the girls with a drink. I have never had a promoter take everyone to a table and get them a drink the second they get in after not waiting in line. It was def super awesome and a great start to the night. Small dance floor, but also not strict about dancing up on the ledge in between tables :)

~3.5; I’d say I like Eden about as much as Playhouse and Las Palmas. They are all pretty similar. Been to Eden on Thursday and Friday nights; both were pretty good. The music was a mix of top 40 hip-hop and some house/electronic. It was OK, not great but still danceable. The venue itself is fine; the dance floor in the main room is kind of small but there is another dance floor in a separate room. The setup of bottle service is meh, though I think the area around the stage platform is best. I do like that there is a covered outdoor patio with couches. Perfect for stepping out to get some air, but not too cold. Overall, I had fun at Eden; nothing to really rave or complain about but the music was decent enough for me to come back more than once.

«Everyday I’m shufflin’ shufflin’ shufflin» HEYYYYY! MUSIC Hiphop. Top 40s. just the right kind of music you could bump and grind to, fist pump and/or cabbage patch… whatever floats your boat. By far, this venue has the best music out of all the clubs I have been to! CROWD Good looking crowd. I’m 5’7– 5’8″” with heels, and I did not recall having to bend, squat, or sit down to talk to a guy face to face. Very mixed crowd, with not too many bitches or hoes stepping on you left and right. Danced with a cute British Indian, flirted with a fiesty Asian, and held hands with an adorable Italian. I would say that it was a good, good night .*pats myself on back* VENUE It has more of a lounge-y and intimate feel with tables and couches sprinkled generously throughout the venue. In the beginning, when I was more sober, I did not really like this because it meant the dance floor was smaller. However, as hours passed, and drinks were guzzled, I was so glad to find numerous places to rest my throbbing feet. BOUNCERS nice, humorous, with no sticks up their asses. PARKING DONOTPARKONTHEALLEYITISIN! We got a $ 68 ticket at the end of the night. Just shell out the $ 7 – 10 bucks for the parking lots. definitely worth putting on your cutest heels, and strutting out to!!! P. S. This was a Friday night.

Eden has nice décor and a decently sized dance floor, but IMO, it’s WAY too small to be considered a dance club. From what I remember there was 1 bar and 2 bartenders which did not equal quick drinks — annoying. They also have a $ 25 min for credit cards which is WAY too high and guarantees you can never just buy 1 drink(al though this might be a plus for some people). Oh well, bringing cash isn’t too bad of an idea b/c the best part of the night — hot dogs — will be waiting for you outside once you’re all done for $ 4(cash only). They’re not bacon wrapped. :( All-in-all, Eden was OK, nothing worse and nothing better. My search for a legit Hollywood club continues…

Let’s say you are in the mood to go out and dance in Hollywood, which place would you head to? Eden! Ding Ding Ding Ding! We came here on a Sunday before a Monday holiday and the place was PACKED. It was a large space inside, kind of brownish with a decent sized dance floor, so there was lots of room to explore and hang out. The music was fabulous. Getting in was okay. My friend was promoting that night but my guy friend had to pay $ 30 and the girls were free. Never been out with guys before so am not sure if that’s the standard. Sexy crowd + Good music + lots of alcohol = Lin will have herself a merry little time I went back here last Saturday and it wasn’t as good as I remembered. For one, the music was more house and less hip hop(which is what I like but whenever a place plays hip hop people get all ghetto and someone ends up in a fight). Ghetto ass fuckers. The crowd was also not really my taste. Mostly European looking white people who did not seem too friendly. No one offered me drinks and the few people I hung out with, I did not want to see again. So I guess, it’s a hit or miss. But I will come back another night and see if the magic has returned.

It always amazes me how many young socialites go out on a Tuesday night. Do people work? I find myself questioning this all of the time. I got here around 10:15 and the bouncer told us that they didn’t open until 10:30. Me, being the girl that goes to bed around 11:30pm on a work night, was a bit shocked by the news. So, around 10:30 we were allowed in and we entered into this beautifully dark and wooden oasis. Huge lanterns hang from the ceiling and help create a sophisticated ambience. For such a small venue, SBE has done a great job architecturally. They have been able to fit numerous amount of tables in a very small area. There are also a few tables outside in a small patio. Now why would you want to sit in this small, cramped, and excluded patio is another question. The DJ, Tony Martinez, was great. He played a wonderful mix of tunes that got the crowd jumping and dancing. There are stairs to dance on top of in the middle of the venue, along with areas behind each table which are also perfect for dancing. Everyone was so friendly in this venue. From the bouncer, to the waitresses, to the bar backs. The bar backs do such a great job here, I want to make sure to praise them for their work. Drinks are pricy. Pricier than The Colony, another SBE joint. So get ready to spend some cash if you are going to come here. All in all, this lounge is beautifully composed but it is nothing spectacular. I was not overwhelmed, nor underwhelmed, just whelmed by my experience here. I would come back, but I wouldn’t have to come back, if you know what I mean.

I wasn’t in the mood for planning NYE since I plan events/social gatherings like it’s my job, oh wait… So, a girlfriend was in charge and I told her the only place I didn’t want to be stuck was at a club. I learned quickly that she doesn’t listen to me. Inevitably I ended up with a $ 75 open bar ticket to newly opened(newly opened as in NYE was its first go with the public) Eden. Its vine-y, arborous digs have taken over the old Opera/Crimson space. I always liked the whole inside/outside vibe of Opera, so I am glad they didn’t touch that aspect when they did their renovations. I am not so much a fan of the new layout, as there is a dance floor the size of a New York apartment’s kitchen space, but you work with what you’re given, right? Oh, and work with it we did! We poached up right in front of the DJ, naturally, and shimmied all over the small space, when others caught on, we moved up to the raised stages that divide each«table service» area. Needless to say, we christened the place with our sweet, sweet NYE moves. And we definitely drank more than $ 75 worth of liquids, so even though I didn’t want to be at a club, I can’t say I had any issues with it as the clock struck midnight, and then one, and then two… It looked as if there were two DJs on stage switching effortlessly between transitions, but we came to find out that the other guy was playing with the lighting all night long. I like that Eden hired someone specifically to make sure the venue looked all aglow at any given moment. Mad props. There are two bars(one petite one outside and a long one inside to the right when you walk in), and if they pack the place on a regular night, I can see it being difficult to wedge your way in there consistently as the night turns into the wee hours of the morning. So, get libated early to avoid any bar issues! Not entirely sure if they are planning on expanding into the old Crimson space, as it wasn’t open to us NYErs. All in all, I would say Eden has the potential to create quite the hedonistic experience. Ironic, don’t you think?
