It’s definitely a GEM hole in the wall. We have been coming here for years. It’s authentic Nicaraguan food and it’s the best you can find in LA. I have been to others but doesn’t compare. It was closed for a while and then I was so excited to hear it had reopened. Their gallo pinto, queso frito, asada and nacatamales are delish! Don’t go for the look go for the food :)

Used to be a frequent customer until the food quality deteriorated years ago; then I heard they had gone out of business. Found recent Unilocal reviews and decided to give them another go. We ordered quesillos, buñuelos, costillas de puerco with gallo pinto, green and ripe fried plantain with queso frito, chicken soup, yucca with grilled pork, and it was all good except for the yucca, which was a little hard. We also had cacao, chia, and semilla de jicaro, all good and the servings were generous especially compared to La 27… you get more for your money here. The service was outstanding and quicker than La 27. Our server even helped carry food to my car, which was much appreciated. We also bought nacatamales but haven’t tried them yet. The only thing that’s better at La 27 is the cacao.

This place does not look good from the outside but don’t judge the book by its cover. When you go in the dining room it looks like somebody’s living room it kind of makes you feel like you’re eating at moms house or something. They have an extensive menu with different types of cuisines of different countries. This could be a good thing because they have different options but also a bad thing because I can’t decide what to order, there’s so much stuff to choose from. I ended up getting the chicken fajitas which were very delicious it comes with a side frijoles and rice the whole plate was on point. They also have a small parking in the back. Make sure you consider this spot whenever you are around the area with an empty stomach. You will not regeret it.

I went to this restaurant the other night, the place is pretty hidden. It might need a little work done in the front but BEHOLD don’t be fooled on its aspect, the plates that come out of that kitchen are to die for. They have a Mega Menu from Nicaraguan, Salvadoran, Mexican, and Honduran food. A really big menu was overwhelming but I was not disappointed. Prices are great for the portions they give you, I ordered pupusas a traditional Salvadoran dish which I had before and I was satisfied at the fact that they were big, stuffed and not greasy. I also ordered a Honduran dish called an enchilada(Something completely different from the Mexican enchilada.) Came on a tostada shell with ground beef, potatoes, lettuce, and avocado also carried tomato and on top a half hard boiled egg. It was amazing I had to even lick my fingers!!! I also ordered a chicken fajitas dish which came served as a big portion it was also delicious and satisfying. And the home made salsa they had was spicy but I will probably need to take some salsa back home with me next time I visit them. So far the service was accommodating and extremely polite, the gentleman cared for his job. I will definitely will be back soon. They also have a small parking lot at the back and accept cash and credit/debit.

A little hole in the wall place, with delicious food and very homey. They have their own parking lot in the back which is good since it’s a busy street. Simply loved the food!!!

Came here for the nacatamal, which didn’t disappoint. Huge banana leaf wrapped tamale filled with classic achiote pork, green olives, capers, tomato and mint. Sounds odd, but is traditional Nicaraguan style and delicious.

Tried this place out for the first time and it was pretty good! The service was great and fast. We both had the Carne Asada with gallo pinto, plantains and fried cheese. Everything was delicious but the cut of meat they used didn’t taste like carne asada so I was a little dissapointed. I’ll definitely be back to give the meat another chance! One warning, there is no AC so try to get a seat by the windows. :)

Excellent! We came in at about 10 minutes before they closed & they graciously served us & let us take our time. We ordered the steak dinner, nacatamale, fried cheese & papusa. Wonderful little place, great food.

we LOVE this place. Freddy does an outstanding job. Great menu, delicioso and sabrosa to the last drop on your plate! i would recommend everyone try this place out. The only sad thing is we were the only table occupied on a Saturday night at 7pm! We have eaten the pollo/camarones on skewers, the grilled shrimp, the enchiladas de pollo, all were excellent. and I recommend the lemonade con semillas de chia.

Yum! I’ve been looking for a Nicaraguan restaurant and to finally find one that reminds me of home is just perfect! I brought my husband an a couple of his friends to eat here, couldn’t find it coming down the street the first time, then I saw the yellow little house type building and pulled in to park. The family was outside and when we sat inside it felt very home-y. The food was amazing and reminded me of my moms cooking! I got the #1 carne asada. And I got buñuelos and 4 nacatamales to go(which are way bigger than the ones they sell in the Floridian nicaraguan restaurants, can’t wait to try them!) and a Milka as my drink, which I’ve also been craving for a while! Anyways, the only thing is they only spoke Spanish(which was a little difficult for me because my Spanish is dusty, and I was translating for the whole table!) bottom line, I will come and eat here again whenever I’m in the area! Love this!
