For those who know me you know I’m all about street food and supporting small business especially in my hood. So while driving down the street I see a sign TACOS and that’s all I need to know, this place has changed ownership and name, I forget what it used to be called and too busy/lazy to look it up, well it doesn’t really matter. Here stands El Rabanito… The little Radish, as I enter to check out the hanging menu I’m politely welcomed, they seem very friendly and eager to please you, menu looks small and choice of meats are simple, so it makes my choice for lunch very simple. Tacos — Street style tacos for $ 1.25 at a sit down restaurant with table service I think is a great deal, it is a restaurant so it is +tax. Carne Asada — I liked the way it was cooked and had good flavor, the tacos came with salsa verde which was pretty good though I preferred the salsa roja. 4.5-Stars Carnitas — Mmmm Piggy looks good, Mmmmm Piggy tastes good!, tender, juicy and full of flavor, mayne not as good as Carnitas Michoacan… but it’s all good. 5-Stars Al Pastor — Ahhhh more Piggy, Piggy, Piggy… this one for me was very difficult to rate and here’s why, if you just taste a piece of meat by itself… it’s OK/good but not that flavorful, I’d say average 3-Stars, BUT… take a bite and BAM, the little caramelized onions and pieces of pineapple along with the pork make this delicious! 4-Stars Lengua — Doesn’t look like it would be tender and flavorful does it?, well… it surprised me and in a very good way, the outside had a slight firmness, and it was just full of flavor!, I’d say«BESTTONGUEIN TOWN» 5-Stars Salsa Roja — Great flavor… NO, but a good salsa with OK heat I’d say Med/Hot. Salsa Verde — Was a top of my tacos when presented, I thought it was a good salsa verde with Mild/Med in heat. Be patient service is a little slow… but it’s a NEW Business and I’ll not bash them for that, CASHONLY at this point. COMESUPPORTSMALLBUSINESS and enjoy some good food!
