I WISHTHEREWAS A WAYTOMAKETHISRATINE A MINUS10!!! WATCHOUTFORTHISCOMPANY!!! In 2010 I signed up for Equator’s service identifying 5 zip codes. The total cost, as I recall, was about $ 6.00/month. They were billing my Credit Card for that amount until I noticed a bill on July 1, 2015 for $ 66.00. I called the company and was never able to get through to anyone. I went on their live chat and got nowhere with that either. I assumed it was an error. In any case, I received another charge to my credit card on August 1, 2015, and went through the same routine. However, in doing a search, I found another number and a human actually answered. I was told that they had sent out a notice in May letting people know of the impending change. I never received that notice, and am told that I am too late for a refund and am out the $ 132.00. What a way to do business! Just start charging people 10 times what they were being charged, and when they find out, just tell them«tuff luck.» What they did to me sounds very fraudulent. Watch out for this company, they don’t appear to operate with ethical standards.

EQUATOR — A DYINGSYSTEM We became a subscriber in May 2015. On June 1st, Equator raised their prices without notifying us — even though they say they did. Our 22nd bill was 5 times more and when trying to get a hold of Equator Customer Service: — There is no phone number on their website(customer service is not important) — You can only chat with them(which is how we found out they raised pricing) — There website only lists a COO, not a CEO(uh oh, whenever a COO is the highest ranking exec listed, it usually means they were bought out by a private equity firm, which usually also means the private equity firm gets rid of the biggest expense(people), so they can sell the company quickly) BOTTOMLINE — Equator is an antiquated and expensive system versus their competitors — Customer service is below average

Well, here it is; my first EVER one star review. Congratulations Equator, I wish I could give you ZERO. Equator is an online subscription service used by real estate agents. Agents sign up and select«coverage areas» in hopes that they may be found by an REO company or a bank looking for an agent to sell the properties they have foreclosed on. Years ago, when I represented a bank to sell their properties, they asked me to sign up for it and I did. It was at a cost of around 5 bucks or so per month. About this time last year, my bank asked me to subscribe to a much more expensive version and I dropped out. Bank owned properties were becoming an increasingly smaller portion of my business and I just didn’t see the benefit. Flash forward to July 2013. All of a sudden, I am receiving multiple emails per day stating that my account is past due. I repeatedly respond with«please cancel my account». The emails keep coming. I try to call the number listed on the email. It is no good. The emails keep coming. I finally sign in to try to cancel. No option to do this. So, I live chat with a guy in India who tells me that the only way to cancel is to give them my credit card to become current. It turns out I somehow owe $ 4.00…HOW? Well, it is from JUNE2011! I somehow have owed them $ 4.00 for over two years? They had a credit card on file for over a year after that. Why just now? They can present no proof of what I owe. After pressing the chat guy, I get a good number for someone in the United States. I ask him to cancel my account. He says the same thing; that the only way this is possible is for me to log in, GIVEMYCREDITCARD, get the balance current and then cancel. What? I still can’t imagine how I owe $ 4.00 but at this point, it has taken at least $ 30.00 of my time so I tell him to email me an invoice and I will send him a check for the $ 4.00. Nope, that is not an option. They cannot send me an invoice. The only way is for me to log in and give my credit card. Are you kidding me Equator?!
