Wanted to like this place… the owner & staff greeted me– almost too effusively– & made me feel welcome, if a little on the spot. I was the only customer– & as I ordered, the owner said proudly, «Everything from scratch!». That’s great– but it took 14 minutes to present me with a small scoop of rice, 3 lettuce leaves, a slice of tomato(with a squirt of straight mayo) &2 skewers of bbq pork. The pork was flavorful, a bit fatty– with a slight crispiness at the edges. Not bad! But a little bit like getting an order of pork sate(different flavor family) — & finding out that it is 2 little skewers with a total of 2 ½ oz. of meat. This was the $ 5.99 lunch special. Roundup: very pleasant customer service, fairly tasty food… but long wait time(I can only imagine if a half dozen wander in at once– the wait time must balloon: just one cook) & kinda skimpy portions. I’d be willing to give them another shot… but there are better options nearby.

GARLICRICE is a small place & walking distance from near-by hospitals in Los Angeles 90027. Tasted the Sweet Pork Sausage Longsilog with Garlic rice & fried egg for dinner and it reminded me of my Filipino childhood. Refreshing canned coconut water on a very hot day. Ordered my wife a Beef Longsilog«To-Go» so we’ll see how she reviews her meal. Convenient is that they have free delivery($ 20minimum/within one mile.). One disappointment is the halo-halo, it tasted watered-down so I do not recommend it. Next time, I will order just the Ube ice cream.

Amazing place and very cheap! I highly recommend the Sisig, chicken teriyaki, and the grilled pork belly. The place is small and the environment is a little run down, but the atmosphere is great and a great value for your buck.

Filipino food at its finest! it’s a must-have in california. The chicken tocino is very yummy and appetite friendly for the kids. It’s the kind of food that kids would surely keep coming back for more.

This is by far one of the best Filipino restaurants I have ever been to. Also I have to say that this is the best pancit I’ve had in my life! Super friendly, incredibly fresh, and excellent flavors I hope this small family business does well. Try the steak garlic bowl and the chicken adobo. The kale dumplings is a great way to eat something with some veggies. The pancit is dynamite!!! They cook to order so it’ll take about 10 – 20 minutes for your order. I suggest phone it in and you can take it to go too!

Ordered the adobo. Dry chicken, dry hard«garlic» rice, small portions. Ordered the chicken skin chicharon and it was rubbery. Not good. Pricey for the amount of food you get. Not impressed. So sad. Had high hopes for this place.

It was my 3rd time trying Garlic Rice to give this place another chance. Thumbs down! :( The rice was hard, the meat was hard, the overall taste is less than mediocre. It really is a sad representation of Filipino food. It is also over priced!

i actually thoroughly enjoyed the chicken tocino combo! it wasnt greasy at all, compared to the turo-turo places on vermont ave.,; food presentation is really well-done. plus the owner is super nice and welcoming. the only reason i didnt give a 5 star today is because i got a regular straw for the thai iced tea with boba. everyone knows u need a fat straw to suck those yummy bobas lol. will def come back and try their other items soon.

Listen, I don’t want to throw any business under the bus, especially when they’re brand new and in an undesirable location, but I also don’t want my entrée to come out a full 10 minutes after my husband’s(the place was literally empty, she just forgot to make it), and we don’t want our fried chicken raw in the middle. Considering the cost and the small portions, and the fact that there are hundreds of similar option in the neighborhood, I say — with regret — skip it.

Ohh-Mmmm-gee! Where do I begin? We waited for this place to open!!! This place seemed promising to us and we all were excited to try it. But when it finally did, we were very disappointed. Ordered the Tapsilog and it was horrible!!! The beef was tough. It was like eating a week old gum you forgot in your bag. There was no marinate on it whatsover. It was bland. The vegetable it came with were wilted. The garlic fried rice was just a mound of rice with bits of friend garlic on it. It was doused in oil!!! The only good thing about was the box it came with. It was environmentally friendly even though it was soaked with the oil. Needless to say, we won’t be back for another meal. If I wanted to eat a tough meat, I would have just gotten beef jerky from Rite aide. Epic F.A.I.L!!!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. All of my favorite Filipino dishes are on their menu. They have adobo, beef steak, tocino, tapa, garlic fried chicken, lumpia, arroz caldo, pancit. I mean, what more could I possibly ask for? They also have some items that sound incredible, like kale potstickers and garlic sweet potato fries. I walked here on my lunch break to check it out, because it sounded too good to be true. The owner was there and she was incredibly friendly! I ordered lumpia with garlic rice to-go. You can pick chicken, pork or vegetable lumpia. I went with the traditional pork. It comes with a side salad. When I got back to my office and took my first bite out of the take out container, my mind was blown. These lumpia stayed crunchy despite being in a closed container with garlic rice and a salad. The garlic rice was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The salad was refreshing and light. I had to call the owner and tell her how much I love the food. I plan on returning very soon to try more items off of their menu. I hope this place stays in business until I retire from Kaiser! It’s so good!
