This thrift store is jam packed with funky stuff. Some clothing but mostly STUFF! Vintage/retro, garage sale type fare. Aisles are very narrow and I had to walk carefully with my bulky purse to make sure I didn’t knock anything over. Found a few small items and the staff was friendly and helpful as I paid. Signs on the outside indicated they were liquidating though so they may not be here for much longer? Street parking includes paying a meter, but the cost is low.

I own my own second hand consignment shoppe where I sell many items online and especially on e-Bay. Since I have been laid off from my job at AT&T my business has been the only thing keeping my family and I financially afloat. I count Genmer as a great resource for keeping my online store stocked with quality goods. They have a standard at this store that is very high(especially when compared to Goodwill or Salvation Army). Their prices are way better than Goodwill’s and almost everything in their thrift store is negotiable which is always fun. So if you are like me and you are good at the art of debate than I highly suggest you come here and enjoy the haggle.

This little thrift store is a hidden gem in Van Nuys. I just moved to the area and needed some odds and ends for my new apartment. I walked by the place every other day and I wish I had went there sooner. They have a great selection of everything from newer furniture to antique clocks and crystal stemware. They also have an awesome section for paintings and I found a very nice French piece from the 1920’s in an impressionist style which, is worth way more than the $ 20 I paid for it. The frame alone probably worth $ 50. They also have more stuff in the back so be sure to look through all the different aisles and sections. There are great deals to be had. The staff there and the movers were very nice guys as well. They showed me around and were very helpful. Genmer is a true thrift store and an asset to the community.

WOW! I think this just might be my new favorite place! I went in looking for my usual thrift store goodies… depression glass, inexpensive trinkets etc. Not only did I find those but I ended up spending at least 2 hours just pouring through their massive inventory… furniture pieces, clothing, bikes, other random stuff… all very reasonably priced. But they also have a collection of gorgeous showpieces, really nice collectible antiques etc. Richard one of the owners spent time showing me around & telling me fabulous stories. Danny was also wonderfully helpful & everyone was super friendly. I will definitely be back soon!

I walked in and spoke to a nice fellow Mike who was sweet, asked him straight off for his office chairs and he showed me 3 that were brown(wanted blk), nxt he had the people who had the huge inventory in the back assist me, they also looked everywhere for some vertical filing cabinets I need. During the look-see I noticed an ikea collapse chair that had the same pewter tint of my ikea desk. Asked Mike and it was $ 5., then as I was walking out I saw a chair that was behind one of his desks… perfect, Mike says $ 40, I say $ 30, we meet in the middle and then his son comes out after the deal & says that’s my chair. He was so kind about the fact I already had a receipt so I intend to send a compliment for good sportsmanship and good prices as well. They have a big inventory of everything. Not pinchers & Very nice people. Check it out!
