I made a Unilocal just for this. Let me start off by saying that I love long hair. Now that it’s summer and everyone has really nice short hair I wanted to cut my long locks off. Let me just mention that I am 16 years old and in high school. I’m not going to talk about hospitality because I’m too heated to talk about that. I just finished crying about 100000 times now. My hair is uneven and my friends even agree with that. It’s not that I hate short hair or anything, I’m not one to dwell on things like this. But honestly, I could’ve gotten a pair of fucking scissors(excuse my language) and cut that shit off myself. I am thankful that I have one month before school starts and also thankful that my hair grows fast. It looks like a blunt cut and was chopped off by a pair of garden scissors. Honestly, don’t listen to your mom like I did… She has ugly hair too so that should’ve been the first sign. I was given all these signs and fucked up. I should’ve payed an extra $ 40 at a salon of my choice. I know hair grows back but I look like I have Oompa Loompa hair. My summer is officially over for 2015. I should’ve taken to consider all the signs given… Like my hairstylist who had purple hair. It’s uneven and ugly and bullshit. Just pay that $ 100 for a newly opened salon in weho. Don’t mean to be melodramatic but… My life is over. Might as well dye my hair green and get an orange spray tan and go meet willy wonka himself. My hair is a disaster.

Very clean. Quiet. Relaxing. A perfect hidden gem for phenomenal hair blowouts, hair cuts, hair color, hair perm, or Japanese hair straightening. Nioki never fails to leave my hair weightless, extra soft, and super shiny! It’s not super expensive either. Great prices and amazing service!

He is truly professional and the only one can make my hair looks good without chemicals. My hair is curly and ugly so any hair dresser I met before they’re suggesting straight perm. Anyway Naoki sang upgraded my life :)

Naoki-san is the reason that it seems like I’m the only girl that actually likes her hair. And I’m the worst customer, I have no clue what I want to do with my hair and refuse to do anything fancier than maybe put some hair wax in it. And that’s only when I’m actually putting in some effort. Naoki-san knows this and somehow manages to give me the perfect cut that looks good w/no energy and lasts for like six months. I’ve had long layers, super short, bob, bangs all kindsa stuff and somehow he always makes it work. I don’t know what I’ll do when he retires. I don’t know how welll he can replicate cuts from a photo, but I think having some trust and letting him do his thing is the best way to go. I usually give some criteria and let him run with it and i always leave happy. And it’s so cheap! Don’t be skurred of the language barrier, or that it’s not the most glamorous salon, or the fact that it’s usually little old japanese ladies in there getting their hair set — Naoki-san ROCKS!

3.5 stars if possible to give ½ stars. We had Michiko travel to our wedding in Pasadena to do hair and makeup for my two bridesmaids and aunt. According to everyone who hired her, her work was just ok overall. We initially hired her to do «kitsuke» for kimono since my family were planning to wear kimono. At the end, we did not need her for kitsuke but hair and makeup for the bridesmaids and aunt who didn’t want to do something too complex like faux lashes and fake double eyelids. Both of my bridesmaids and my aunt felt just so so with the final product. My bridesmaids expected straight curls and my aunt felt that the hair style was outdated. I thought the bridesmaid’s makeup looked pretty nice but she didn’t care for it at all. — Travel fee(Little Tokyo to Pasadena): $ 50 — Makeup: $ 35 — Hair: $ 40 * Location: Pretty convenient. They do travel for a fee. * Service: Pretty nice but will not let you cancel without a penalty fee even if it is a month or more in advance * Price: Cheaper than many salon but you do get what you paid for

This hair salon is located inside the Little Tokyo Mall(immediately adjacent to Japanese Village Plaza). It seems as though Little Tokyo Mall is one and the same as the Japanese Village Plaza, but they’re not. Hence, do not park in the Japanese Village Plaza parking because it cannot validate. Park inside the Little Tokyo Mall parking. The parking structure is multi-level, and is immediately adjacent to Miyako Inn. You can also enter it from San Pedro, immediately north of Union Bank. This hair salon has been here for years. It’s run by a Japanese couple who are both hair stylists. I normally have my hair cut by the husband. He’s truly an artist, and the service is no less than what you expect from a Japanese hair salon. He usually washes my hair prior and after the cut. He covers my face so that my makeup is intact. I enjoy the attention to details. He does a spectacular job at cutting hair. He’s truly a designer. This is where you can get a $ 200 hair cut for $ 50.(I don’t know what he charges for men’s haircut.)
