Sketchy-er area than I expected but inside is very clean and new. You can see them frying the chicken right from the register and very clean in the back as well. I was going to get the half and half which was 20 something and she suggested I get the smaller portion because it was only for me and my girl. Very honest business! Highly recommend for very delicious chicken. #korean

We ate here yesterday and the chicken was delicious! We tried both the GangJeoung garlic boneless and the sweet chili bone-in with potato salad and coleslaw. The sweet chili was my favorite however the leftover garlic pieces proved to be quite tasty the next day! The counter person, who may have also been the owner was helpful and very kind!

Even though I’m not a fan of fried chicken, I love theirs. Super juicy inside and extra crispy outside. The best Korean style fried chicken ever~!

I tried the original fried chicken and it does not disappoint. The crispy outer layer compliments the juicy meat inside. I ordered the single size and that size is definitely enough for 2 – 3 people. It came with 5 huge pieces. I was able to eat two before feeling full. It’s super delicious especially with their chicken hot sauce. My husband ordered the sweet chili flavor 10pc chicken wings. They were out of this world delicious!!! The sauce is slathered on and they definitely taste sweet with a hint of spice, the meat itself is very tender but be prepared for sticky fingers. They do provide you food prep gloves in case you want to use them. We also ordered a side of fries which was huge. One order can feed 2 people, although we don’t recommend their ketchup packets(they had an odd flavor to them). Overall the food was great! The place is kept nice and clean and the service was good.

Passed by all the time after work, thought I would give it a try. The breading was way too thick. Everything is too sweet in general. I think it’s strange that the breading is thicker than the chicken itself. The potato salad was tasty and the owner was really nice, but I did not enjoy the chicken at all. Won’t be going back.

Curious about this place because I always passed by when on my way to work. Finally got to try it. «This is not fast food chicken» Says their take-out menu. Indeed it isn’t. I walked in, chatted with the kind man(the owner I’m assuming?) at the counter who explained that they make their chicken by cutting up whole chicken, and received my order 15 minutes later. While I was waiting, he gave me a sample of what would be a new item on their menu next month(tasted like popcorn chicken). It was yummy. Will probably order the next time I go. I ordered the garlic wings, sweet chili wings, and hot wings. He warned me that hot would be spicy, but the heat was not bad at all. Each flavor was tasty. The wings were very easy to eat, meat falling off the bone. Also ordered some cole slaw which reminded me of something my mom would make because it was a hint sweeter than your average cole slaw. What can I say? The price is right, food is yummy.

Hmm… not a fan of the neighborhood. Not sure if I would want to eat there, but the location inside looks clean. Well, the chicken is not the typical Korean style chicken with light breading. Here, the breading is pretty thick and I think there’s cornbread in the batter. They flavor is pretty good and breading seems to soak up all the flavor. I still think the regular Korean Chicken places still do it better. I do like that most of the meat is white meat as opposed to wings and drummettes only. But they cut it up in a way that you don’t know what part you’re eating. It’s a pretty unusual experience.(I’m sure they do this so the chicken cooks evenly… it’s different but glad it’s white meat.) All in all, the chicken is flavorful and on the bready side. Price wise, it’s a pretty good deal, I got the small and that could easily feed 2 people. When I’m craving some chicken I will be back. Thank you!

Say the chicken was ok enough but when I saw the owners packing the chicken with bare hands(one of the owner just finished cleaning the bathroom and the other owner just rung up a customer and handle cash) moving the chicken around to fit it in the box was just absolutely disgusting . The irony is that they had disposable gloves right next to them. If they handle the food in front of customers I am wondering how they handle the food when no one is looking. Also, the chicken is just not good.

Having gone with a native Korean speaker we were able to find out that this place breaks down a whole chicken prior to frying, whereas most places get the chicken prepackaged and separated. This would explain why the pieces are much larger than what you normally expect of normal fired chicken. We went with the family size of twenty, not realizing how large the pieces were, choosing Garlic and Sweet Chili. I think of the two I like the Sweet Chili a bit more because I felt the Garlic was too over the top, mind I don’t shy away from garlic. I mention as a tip, to let the chicken rest a little and let them cool off because going right into them the skin just falls off. As we continued to eat we noticed the chicken felt a bit more crispy towards the end of the meal, much to our delight. Probably will try the spicy one on a second trip and maybe just do one order of ten.

I love that they give you gloves and the chicken comes out hot I don’t know why some people are saying the chicken is like kyochon. You can tell it’s different when looking at the skin. It comes off quickly and the chicken tastes oily and is too flavorful. My friend said it felt like her chicken was disintegrating as she ate it. The chicken was just not good. I personally don’t like the flavored chicken but I do like bonchon and kyochon. This chicken was not good and I would not recommend it. Parking is free and there were lots of spots available around 5 on a Tuesday evening

This place is relatively new to the scene, and it’s kind of a shame that they are a bit off from K-town. Maybe it’s actually a good thing since it will attract a different crowd. The food is quite good, and very reasonably priced. Why are Korean chicken places hiking up the prices for their chicken? Seriously, it’s not THAT good, so get over yourselves. Anyways, I’ve tried sweet chili, garlic, and cheese. The cheese is a bit too dry in my opinion, and maybe some people like that powdery cheese stuff. Not really for me. The service is great and the owners are very friendly, and sometimes hook it up with extra goodies. Food: 4.5÷5 Service: 4.5÷5

Been here twice just this week and I don’t know if I still love to come, not my type of restaurant, the food in general is not really as bad as what you can think however I want to have more satisfaction in terms of food quality, I want the excellent one. This place good only if you’re really saving money and you want to just have a regular meal and you don’t really care about delicious or how good the food is as long as you get full. The service however is good and accommodating maybe for that I can give 4 star rating.

I’m going to go on a slight limb here and give K-Town’s newest chicken dispensary a whopping FIVVVVVE stars… Located on 6th and hell, I don’t know — I had it delivered… within K-Town while bordering Westlake, clucks HoHo chicken, and while I ain’t no hoe, urri’ now and again I develop a hankering for breast. #pow!!! ^ ^ Having ordered from HoHo twice — to date simply to better derive a verdict, the jury is no longer hung as I’ve concluded it to ALLBEGOODINTHISHOOD! The 1st and 2nd stars are being afforded for«customer service» and the option of «delivery». Each time I’ve phoned in, regardless of whom it is that answers the phone, prices and explanations for each item and flavor are provided in absolute depth. As fellow Elite, Chris L., has referenced — the confusion, however, begins with the fact that unlike say, KFC or some place bestowing similar commodities, HoHo doesn’t display how many pieces are offered when ordering from their«small, large and family» portions. All in all, while the prices are displayed, you really don’t know exactly what it is that you’re paying for. Replicating Chris’s observation, the breakdown is as follows: __________________________________________ * Single — consistent of 6 pieces of chicken = $ 7.99 __________________________________________ * Large — consistent of 12 pieces of chicken = $ 14.99 __________________________________________ * Family — consistent of 20 pieces of chicken = $ 19.99 __________________________________________ …and as for flavors: There’s traditional fried chicken($ 2.00 less in price for the aforementioned size options) and for $ 1.00 more, there’s a cheese option(Parmesan, I believe) that can be added to the batter. …as well as a host of additional flavors beneath their«Gang Jeong Chicken» options which includes: «Sweet Chili», «Garlic», «BBQ», «Hot Fire», as well as «Teriyaki» and«Curry». * Word from the wise: Apparently there’s a $ 3.00 charge to split a «large» or «family» order into multiple flavors(i.e.: ½ BBQ and ½ Hot Fire). Evidently it’s fried separately but guaranteed fresh. Being the foodie I am, you guessed it. I’ve tried them ALLLLL and neither disappoint! The owners/chefs obviously place a great deal of pride in their food as each item is made fresh to order leading me to the chicken itself … THISCHICKENISHUGGGGGGGGGGGGE!!! o_O Old McDonald had a farm EI – EI — OMG…and CLEARLY he fed his fowls«Popeye the sailor-man’s spinach»!!! Served in gi’normous containers it’s virtually IMPOSSIBLE to determine which piece of the chicken you’re grubbin’ on and while there is quite a surplus of breading on each piece…, the flavors literally cling to each and every bite. Leading me to my verdict: HoHo is a certifiable GOGO when looking to get your Asian persuasion on! Another reviewer alleged it to be the perfect place to call upon for SuperBowl parties. ^ ^ ^ I’d gladly second that, yet and as it appears: THEY’RECLOSEDONSUNDAYS. –__– * Guess ya’ can’t have it all.

This place is hidden in a shopping center. I was not sure what I was getting, just arrived hungry and needed a quick bite to eat. I looked over the menu quickly and wanted to try out the fried chicken. The man informed me it would be like 15 minutes… Again I am in a rush. So I got the spicy chicken plate– a faster choice. The food is made fresh to order. So don’t come in thinking its a quickie. That’s a good thing. Took my food to go. The place is really clean and spacious. Lots of room inside. There’s a television playing music videos for ones enjoyment. Okay now once I grabbed my food and opened the box… it smelled Soooo goooood, looked realllly good and tasted soooooo good! The plate comes with a shredded cabbage salad and rice. The chicken was nice and hot and the spices were awesome! The only problem was that the food was hot(I was in a rush) and had no time to allow it to cool down. I scarfed it down and wanted more! I shall return with more time to try the sweet chili chicken and that fried chicken. If it’s anything like the spicy chicken they have my heart! Overall very pleasantly surprised!!!

It’s new, sleek, super clean and absolutely delicious. Couldn’t decide between the Sweet chilli fried chicken or The Garlic gang jeong chicken, so I had to go back the next day to be sure I tried both. Yummy! Don’t miss the the chilli fried chicken… I chose to have garlic chicken as well, and loved them. Over all my move to this place with my hubby was one of the best chicken experience I ever had! Loved it!

Food was decent, the wait is terrible. The actual chicken is good and the batter is good too but they put so much batter on it that you can barely taste the chicken. I tried the sweet and spicy which was a good sauce. They took away most of their sides(fried rice, the plates). You can pick from coleslaw, fries, or potato salad. The reason I gave 2 stars was because I had to wait 40 mins for 5 wings. 2 people were in there waiting when I arrived, and neither got their food for at least 20 minutes. It was not busy and it was around 1pm on a weekday.

I live around Westlake and wanted to try Korean chicken without getting too far from my home. I tried this new — only 3 months old — place on Rampart &6th. I ordered to-go, Family size with Garlic and Hot Fire(There is a $ 3 extra charge for adding flavors). Chicken is made-to-order and sweet lady over the phone told me to come and pick up in 25 minutes. I headed over in 25 minutes and it was on-time! I’ve been to many Korean chicken places and they’re always late on orders. I paid promptly and brought the order home. While I was paying, the lady at the counter(probably the owner) asked if it’s my first time, told me how to reheat the chicken to enjoy on latter days. Very nice and kind staff. I tried the chicken with my family as soon as we got home. We got enough radish in the order, Family size with two flavors come in two Large size paper tubs. The tubs themselves are HUGE and the chicken are overflowing from the tub up to a point where the lady had to tape the lid in order to close it. The breading is really nice and crispy. Both sauces that I got are the wet kind, but I really liked it. I usually get the original fried chicken at other places because I don’t like my chicken getting soggy and wet, but this chicken still had the crisp to it after saucing. Love this place! I’ll be a patron from now on. I lived in Ktown for 4 years now and probably tried all chicken places there are. Yet, this place is by far the best. I know it’s not a franchise but it’s definitely MUCH better than the franchise.

What’s really annoying is that they don’t tell you how many is in a single, large or family. Let’s see… Single: 6 pieces — $ 8 = $ 1.33/chicken piece Large: 12 pieces — $ 15 = $ 1.25/chicken piece Family: 20 pieces — $ 20 = $ 1/chicken piece Now, I always had a problem with Korean fried chicken being over priced, but when the chicken came out, my jaw dropped at how large the pieces were! What I had initially thought to be a rip off was actually an amazing deal! These were plump chicken pieces! Not tiny Kyochon wings. We tried 3 gangjeong flavors for 3 boys: Sweet Chili — This was my boyfriend’s favorite and a winner for anyone who wants try Garlic — This was my favorite. It was a true GARLICBOMB! Hot Fire — This was way to hot for me, but my friend LOVED it. As a bonus we also ordered Wings with Seasoning(6) you get 5 pieces of traditional wings however the breading is SO thick on the outside, your first 3 bites will only be crust. I would pass on this, the meat was little and the breading was hard. The seasoning was a strong Parmesan flavor. NOTE: It takes a while to cook because of the double frying. Expect at least a 20 minute wait from your order. So don’t come hangry. The Meal(Plates) come out faster for some reason and are reasonably priced at $ 7 – 8. NOTE: They charge you $ 3 extra if you want multiple flavors because they have use a separate frying they explained. It’s worth it to come with friends and order a few singles. Unless you have your favorite flavor! Looks like Koreatown is spilling over into Westlake. #gentrificAsian

Clean and delicious! Their fried/marinated chicken are really good. Korean style gang jeong are really fresh(seems like they are using fresh oil, not the ones that make your chicken dark/black) and has thick fried coating that’s marinated well. Recommend this place if you’re craving for Korean style chicken.

Saw some people post & comment about this place on fb and came out to try with my wife and kid. The food exceeded expectations. We tried the sweet chili, garlic, and bbq flavors and all three were good. Best part was how extra crispy it all was. I would def recommend and go back. The cole slaw and potato salad arent anything spectacular but who cares as long as the chicken is this good.

Garlic garlic garlic is the way to go. So far I tried the curry and spicy flavor. All of them are good but I loved the garlic one. The chicken was very soft, well done and super juicy. The pieces were big. The wings are good. I had like 5 garlic wings and 3 huge pieces of the spicy and 1 piece of the curry flavor. Planning to go and try the original. Besides all this, the owner was very nice. They is plenty of parking too!

Great service, new, clean place, small parking lot too. Came here for the first time and it was just okay for me. My boyfriend loved it a lot. I’m picky. LOL The chicken here is fresh tho some of the pieces were super gigantic or I couldn’t recognize which part of the chicken it came from so I was a bit weirded out. They make everything when you order it, which is great. On a weekend night, two women were there/leaving as we ordered, we ordered, and one or two more individuals/couples came in… We got: fried chicken combo — we got original flavor which was lightly seasoned, but not enough for me garlic wings — good, but I am not a big fan of wet sauces on my fried chicken(or bbq) as it tends to make everything very soggy or liquid-y hot fire chicken — pretty spicy, but again, not a fan of wet sauces on my fried chicken potato salad — average salad — i was expecting a leafy green salad, got more of what looked like a slaw to me tho the dressing was salad dressing, i even asked to make sure it was salad, and they said it was and it came with Asian pickles — which were good, but I was not in the mood to eat them.

Great fried chicken! Sort of a fusion between korean flavored chicken wings and american fried chicken. They give very big pieces of chicken that are very juicy and crispy on the outside. Wide variety of flavors and chicken pieces. My personal favorite was the sweet chili chicken and curry! Also have other options such as korean bulgogi and other side dishes. Very clean and the prices are extremely affordable! Great combo prices for individuals, larger parties, and families!

First thought that came to mind when I stepped in: «Woah. This place is super clean!» I’ll start with the one and only downside, which is the lack of mix-and-match for menu items. However, the portions are generous(one«L» bucket can easily feed two people, maybe three), so I would recommend ordering small buckets of different types of chicken per person. On my recent visit, I ordered cheese fried chicken and my friend ordered garlic gang-jeong chicken. Our food was made to order, so both dishes were fresh and delicious! My fried chicken had little bone and so much meat that I actually mistakened it for popcorn chicken. The garlic chicken wasn’t too salty and the seasoning was just right. I wish they provided another dish for leftover bones like they do at other Korean chicken restaurants, but no biggie! Just my personal preference. I also ordered a side of cole slaw, which tasted healthier than the versions sold at other chain restaurants; in addition to the standard vegetable mix, there were bits of apple(weird and small observation, but I ended up finishing the whole container by myself, it was SOGOOD). We also got to sample some fries(your typical crinkle fries, but also freshly cooked to perfection) and the sweet pickled radishes help balance the heaviness of the fried foods. All in all, excellent spot! I look forward to trying their other flavors in the future.
