I’m giving this 5 stars because for the price and size of the restaurant, it’s really fantastic. Especially if you live in the neighborhood and can walk here, it’s a great local eatery. They have great specialty rolls and great traditional roles. Servers are friendly and attentive. It’s not super fancy like some sushi restaurants, but if you want some great tasting sushi for a reasonable price, swing by here. You can sit inside or out, watching all the funky people walk by on Melrose. Go!

Good Sushi, nice staff, I always just ask for The Laker Rolls, which are deep fried California rolls with da sweet sauce on top. That’s all I ever get, with an occasional Spicy Tuna Roll.

Came here the other night with my boyfriend and another friend. We were all totally starving and only armed with debit cards. After a little flipping through the menu, we decided to order the middle-priced combination boat(don’t remember what it was called). It was reasonably priced at, I wanna say, $ 30, and really filled us up. The boat came with the thinnest cut chicken teriyaki I’d ever had — a very, very good thing. It was tasty and not dry at all. The boat also included California roll, some sort of very saucy spicy tuna sushi, assorted tempura, gyoza, and jalapeño poppers. Everything was good, though I wish we’d thought to substitute the poppers with something else. I’m just not a fan of cream cheese. I’m always grateful when we can split a tab with no fuss, and I Love Sushi gave us no trouble at all. If I’m looking for a quick, filling semi-Japanese meal, I’ll be back.

Happy Hour /Lunch «I LOVESUSHI» is my favorite place in Melrose to eat Sushi and people watch. I’ve sat at the sushi bar and outside. The price is great for the amount of food you receive. Plus if you order from the special combination sushi, selected beer’s and saki are only $ 2.00(can’t go wrong there — except for the headache next day) Only reason it doesn’t get FIVE stars, is not because of the food, but, the waiters that helped us, was zoned out. Beside that small fact — well def eat here again.

4 stars for the delicious Boba tea. I must admit I didn’t actually eat there, but the Boba is so good it’s review worthy. –1 star for being priced above average.

This is not a review of actual sushi but of the horendous treatment received. My boyfriend and I went with our 2, under 5 pounds, blind dogs. We sat outside respectful of inside patrons not wanting to eat near us and our dogs. We took the outermost seats and placed the dogs in our laps.(Their usual spots.) Upon seeing the dogs, the waitress demanded we place the dogs on the ground! We explained to her– our dogs are blind and we absolutely would do no such thing. There was no compromise nor understanding– the dogs go on the ground or nothing. I am shocked how we were treated and how ignorant this place was to our needs and that of our beloved dogs.

Maybe its because I’m new to LA, but I swear — you guys have got reliably good sushi. I stopped in here with a friend to get lunch and it was great, really fresh fish with lots of flavor and fluffy warm white rice. Not to mention their sake selection, it was fabulous. I can’t remember the name of one of the roll we got that had tuna inside and albacore outside with some sort of sauce but it was one of their specialty rolls and it was fantastic! I will definitely be back for more, it was so great I’m still surprised you can just roll into a random sushi joint and have it be this good.

Great local sushi joint for casual eats. Fast, fresh and affordable. It’s a simple and small space but they have and outside patio which is great for people watching on Melrose Avenue. I order to-go sometimes and they are really quick. Customer service is always great too. They also have a good happy hour on hand rolls which is 50% from 5 until 10pm. Certain days of the week are sake specials. They have a good beer and sake selection and a TV behind the bar which usually has on SportsCenter. Favorite menu items: Sashimi Salad —(Light and fresh. A good lunch meal or appetizer to share) Baked Salmon Roll —(Warm and delicious!) Monkey Balls —(Weird name, but interesting plate!) Jewish Roll —(I ordered this for my mom who had never had sushi before. I told her it was like having lox and cream cheese minus the bagel. She loved it!) Dragon Roll — Yummy! Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box — Good portions! It’s not too fancy here. If you live in the neighborhood, it’s a great, clean, casual cheap(ish) spot when you crave sushi!

Nice location with some outside seating and yet very attentive service even there. We had a great waitress who kept bringing the tasty food at a good pace. Fair prices too especially on the bento boxes. The rolls and nigiri were very good.

Didn’t know where to go to lunch and was craving sushi so stopped by and looked at their menu outside and decided to go in. It was a great choice! Went on a Sunday afternoon so it was slow, we were the only people inside and there were a few on the patio. LOVED the«monkey balls» and jalepeno poppers. Monkey balls were white mushrooms stuffed with spicy tuna and crab and tempura battered and fried drizzled with ponzu and teriyako sauce! OMG so delicious. The bento boxes were delicious and the«sushi burritos» they add in there were yummy! everything was nicely presented on the plates and service was good. The only con I would have to say about the restaurant is there are little cork boards with customers pictures on them at every table. My friend and I asked if we could be on the wall and they said that they ran out of the Polariod film. We were disappointed but the food more than made up for it! :)

4 girls, definitely ordered with our eyes because we ordered way too much. Guess we were all really hungry. All the sushi and rolls were decent, the burrito roll was interesting. I recommend trying it. Parking was okay since we went pretty late, but usually it’s pretty difficult to find street parking in melrose.

Loved the jalapeño appetizer, but you can’t go wrong when you deep fry a jalapeño, stuff it with cream cheese and drizzle yummy sweet sauce on top. This probably wasn’t EXACTLY something I should be eating on my diet, but I would say it was worth the extra two runs I had to do. We had the sunomono salad, which I was a little worried about when it first arrived because it just looked TOO wet. But, being the little adventurer that I am… I tried it and loved it. Looks can be very deceiving. It was fresh, zingy and tasty… all things that are welcomed after a hot day shopping at all the Melrose stores. We also ordered the spicy scallop hand roll, which was pretty decent and not too mayo-laden. I hate that. It was stuffed and had a good scallop to rice ratio. I know, I sound like I am getting technical here… but trust me, too much scallop = ick and too much rice = ripoff. We had another roll, which I can’t remember the name of… but it was essentially a shrimp tempura roll with spicy tuna on top, it was tasty, but again something that I think you can’t really F up. I didn’t try any sashimi or sushi here because I generally wait to do that the second time I go to a sushi place. I like to make sure that they can handle the cooked stuff and the salads before I dive into possible food poisoning. But, I would definitely say that because of this experience, I would give this place a second visit to check out their sashimi and sushi experience. I also really enjoyed their sake choices, we tried the plum sake… and it while I thought it smelled incredibly strong… it was light and tasty! Very sweet though, almost a bit like the plum wine that some sushi bars put on their oranges at the end. I like that it’s a nice option on Melrose that is quick, pretty inexpensive, the wait staff were very friendly and the food was tasty. I will be back!

Thanks for the reminder, I Love Sushi. How about, I love your sushi?! Can I tell you how amazing the Ginger Salad was? I contemplated drinking the remains at the bottom of the bowl. My friend got the calamari salad, which she said was one of the most satisfying things she had during our entire vacation. Each of us got a different salad appetizer and then we each got our own roll. I got the Calamari Roll which was seriously delicious and huge. We sat on the deck/outside area and people watched as the LA folk went by. Loved it! Sitting outside on a cool, sunny day during a shopping trip and eating sushi… heaven, aww…

Okay, taken its not the best best sushi in the world, but five stars for pretty darn good sushi for its price. I shared one of the boats with a friend(it had 8 pieces of sushi + 6 pieces of california roll). I like that their rice in the sushi was very fresh and not hard or anything, as if it was just sitting around. Their slabs of fish were also very large and yummy. The california roll was also really good, even though they weren’t anything schamcy fancy or anything. The service was also very nice. They were super attentive and sweet. There was a table near us of people who seemed to never have tried sushi, and they gave them those chopstick helpers that you attach at the end of chopsticks since they needed the extra help. also loved that this place was on melrose, which is already a prime shopping location. highly recommend if you’re looking to grab a bite on melrose.

I love sushi, yes indeed… and I love sushi from I LOVESUSHI. This little sushi spot is clean, neat, with super-friendly staff and GREAT food. It’s open until 11pm even on weekdays(yay!) and after 6pm parking in the nearby streets is not a problem. Last but not least, prices are really affordable, the average dinner for two is never more than $ 50, unless you drink like a sailor… ;)

I love I Love Sushi, and I don’t care what you think about it. Well, I guess I must, because I’m Unilocaling about it. The thing about this place is, you have to know what you’re getting in to. 1. Don’t come here if you’re looking for exquisite, authentic sushi that ancient Japanese masters have passed down through the ages, with techniques encrypted in bamboo or something. Rather, come here for yummy, nontraditional rolls with fun names. 2. Don’t come here if you’re looking for snippy servers who mock you if you order the wrong thing, or for chefs who want to select what to make for you. Rather, come if you want warm, loving service. 3. Don’t come if you want to impress someone by spending far, far too much money for small plates. You’ll spend relatively little money for nicely sized plates instead. I had really decent fish at decent prices, great laughs with my large group(that the restaurant accommodated just fine!) and excellent service. It was awesome.

If you like good sushi, don’t come here. This is a place for you to eat sushi on a budget. it’s OK sushi, during the summer they have $ 1 hot sake, even in the winter it’s $ 1.99 for the same size. Either way it’s a steal. Best roll I had here was the Golden Dragon roll. It’s really a mediocre place but it’s the only sushi place I’ve been to where I can walk out and only spent $ 25 and full. That being said, if I had to pay more for their food, this place would be a 1 star for me. Maybe 2 stars for friendly staffs…
