Delicious sandwich place, and can easily get crowded. Call ahead to place your order so you can bypass the long line! The caramel apple lollipop doesn’t hurt either.

I went here right away when they opened. Decided to get the Super Mario, which was quite tasty. Basically there’s no seating, so go out and find a spot to devour your sandwich. Prices are a little high(even for SF) and service could be friendlier, but it was still a damn good sandwich.

Attention VEGANS! Do not get the«vegan meatless mike» sandwich! Just went here yesterday and asked multiple times over the phone for a pick up order that the sandwich is all vegan and they said yes. The meatball is in fact meatless but they USEREALCHEESE! I can’t believe I ate it while on the road. Of course I had to throw out the sandwich but if they don’t know what the term«vegan» is, then why even bother trying to sell it with that label!!!

Dutch crunch bread is quite literally, their bread and butter. You can’t leave Ike’s without trying its toasty crisped goodness. With an overwhelmingly large menu with infinite combinations, you still have the option to build your own sandwich. Each combo is packed with juicy ingredients, to name a few of the frequently occurring: pesto, provolone, pepper jack, avocado, Godfather sauce, halal chicken, garlic aioli, dressing. I got the Nacho Girl with wild salmon and provolone, not to be confused with Nacho Girlfriend which is apparently a completely different sandwich so thankfully the cashier clarified this for us before ordering. I tried a bite of my bf’s Spiffy Tiffy, and found the pesto to be too earthy and I didn’t care for the lumps of avocado(the slices were so thick!) Both sandwiches were on the«room temp» side, which I didn’t entirely mind but some people might not like how it’s not hot. Regardless, I enjoyed the salmon in my sandwich, but my favorite part was the bread! Not sure what they do to it, but the top’s got a croûton-chip toasted taste, and the bread below it is still supple and delicious. Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal for your free bag of chips. I tried the dill-cajun gator chips because the name sounded unique, and fyi it tastes like salt/vinegar chips but spicy! Overall I liked Ike’s place for the bread; frankly the sandwiches are a bit too hearty for me on a regular basis, so be sure to come with an appetite or save the other half of your sandwich!

Ike’s, where have you been all my life?! First thing I noticed walking in was the size of the menu. and even crazier, how the vegan/vegetarian menu was ½ of it! Amazing! The kind girl at the counter recommend me to try the Vegan Captain Kirk Sandwich out of the many vegan options on the menu.(Soy«Chicken», V Cheese, avocado, sweet orange glaze, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and this bomb bread. I forget the name but it’s their most popular one. get it!!!) Probably one of the BEST vegan sandwiches I’ve had yet. The sandwich was packed with delicious flavors and left me very satisfied. The soy meat had great texture and flavor as well as the v cheese. The bread was probably one of the main reasons why I loved the sandwich so much, it had the perfect crisp yet was soft and had it’s own flavor that went great with the contents of the sandwich. My boyfriend even said he liked my vegan sandwich more than his normal one which also seemed delicious! We also came during happy hour and we got a free bag of chips and a drink, which is a great deal for the price. Can’t wait to come back to try more!

My all time favorite sandwich place in the whole world ever! As a vegetarian, usually when you go to a sandwich place you MIGHT have one or two choices… usually egg salad sandwich or veggie sandwich where they just pile on the same veggies they put on the meat sandwich(lettuce, tomato, onion, and if you are lucky avocado)! Not at Ike’s! At Ike’s, there is a «vegetarian/vegan» version of I want to say every one of their meat sandwiches. They make it with the same delicious sauce and other fun ingredients and just substitute the meat for«vegan meat». Their vegan chicken is delicious and I really feel satisfied and full after eating just half of their sandwiches. My absolute favorite is the«Love Triangle». If you aren’t vegetarian, the meat version is called the«3-way» or «Menage a Trois»(which is a favorite of some of my meat eating friends). It has chicken and 3 types of cheese and 3 types of sauce and it’s just really really good. It is a little sweet(I think one of the 3 sauces is honey), but I have a sweet tooth so it’s perfect! Oh, and no matter what sandwich you pick… you HAVETO get Dutch Crunch bread. You have to. Don’t get wheat or whatever other options there are… Dutch Crunch is the absolute best!

I always order one and one thing only: Menage A Trois (BBQ, Cheddar, Halal Chicken, Honey Mustard, Pepper Jack, Real Honey, Swiss) on a Dutch Bread along with side of BBQ Chips and Cream Soda. Whenever I’m in the Westwood area I always stop by here and order this. The price of the meal is $ 15 but the sandwiches are huge and filling to begin with and its enough for two people to share. If you eat this by yourself than you will sure be full for hours throughout the day. Also the people that work their love what they are doing and work with pride. I try on planning other items in the menu and so far I cannot complain about this place.

Their menu is ginormous. How do you choose right? Here’s how. Cover your eyes, blindly pick and ask for it on the Dutch bread. It’s that simple. Grab some Voodoo chips, and munch on this while strolling down Westwood Village. Seriously though, I fell in love with Ike’s in San Francisco, and when they finally brought it to LA, I was so happy. Best part is, this location doesn’t have the 45min wait like the SF location has. It’s pretty much in and out quick. Each sandwich I tried was really good. I particularly like the Matt Cain though, it’s probably my favorite. The kicker is the Dutch bread. It’s just perfectly crisp. Therefore, you HAVE to eat it there. Do NOT take it to-go unless you have to, but try to eat it asap.

So glad this place now has an LA location! It’s pretty hard to impress me with sandwiches but this place blows my mind everytime! It’s located in Westwood right next to UCLA on a small corner with street parking The day I came they were out of halal chicken which I was kind of bummed about but instead just replaced the meat with fried chicken and it was still DELICIOUS!!! We ordered: SPIFFYTIFFY — my favorite!!! — avocados, lettuce, tomato — on Dutch bread — they have some sauce in the sandwich that makes it THEBESTEVER — I cannot emphasize how much I love this sandwich I would definitely recommend this if it’s your first time here — it’s a guarantees 10 out of 10 NACHOGIRL — kind of has the same things as the spiffy tiffy but with salmon — pretty good not as good as the spiffy tiffy though — on wheat bread(we wanted to feel a little healthier) — I think there’s a different sauce in this sandwich but it’s still delicious I really wish this place was closer to me but I’ll still make the trip over here because I just think their sandwiches are some of the best I’ve had! This place definitely lives up to the hype and is something everyone should try!

One of my favorite sandwich shops finally comes to LA(well a year ago now. haha) I was lucky enough to grab an Ike’s sandwich on a business trip a few years back and loved the dutch crunch bread and the Spiffy Tiffy. So of course i made the trek in Westwood to grab one. I strolled in yesterday at 430 and was delighted to see i was the only customer(There were always huge lines in sf). I was nicely greeted by the cashier and of course ordered the Spiffy Tiffy on dutch crunch. I was also delighted to here that between 2pm to 6pm chips and canned sodas were free. major plus! Too bad the sandwich price was $ 11.11… but i guess ill blame inflation and the economy for that haha. After ordering, my sandwich was promptly made and there were like 7 or 8 crew members running around/talking to each other. a bit overkill since i was the only customer haha… after 5 minutes my sandwich was ready and i grabbed a table outside. The sandwich itself was great! just as i remember with flavorful pesto, large pieces of mushrooms, a nice amount of gooey provolone and pepperjack, tender chicken and of course… that crunch you love in dutch crunch bread. The sandwich was huge and could easily feed 2 for lunch or just 1 really hungry person haha. Just heaven to eat the sandwich and a prime westwood intersection. The chips were nothing special nor the soda but you really come here for the sandwiches haha Looking forward to coming here and trying other sandwiches soon!

This could have been a higher rating but service is very slooooow. My friend and I were the only people in the store, save for one other person ahead of us… it took 20 minutes to make our sandwiches! I’m generally lenient on the time it takes to make my food because I want quality I can taste, but that long for SANDWICHES when there’s barely anyone in line? No thanks. I recommend you calling in and picking up your order. But don’t let slow service stop you from coming in! These really are great sandwiches. I ordered the Jaymee Sirewich on the Dutch Crunch Bread. It was amazing! The texture of the bread was great; not the tear-the-roof-of-your-mouth crunchy but it was crunchy enough to give contrast to the doughiness inside filled with fried chicken, pepper jack cheese, ranch, and BBQ sauce. Brb crying tears of joy. All sandwiches fall between $ 8 – 13. Reasonably priced sandwiches for high quality taste? That’s a winner in my book. I still wouldn’t come here if I was pressed for time though.

Came here to grab sandwiches with my boyfriend. There was a small line at 1:45, so I can see there being a pretty long line depending on the time. Huge menu! It was a little hard to choose but I ended up getting the Jim Rome(avocado, cheddar, red pesto, and turkey) and my boyfriend got the Green Lantern(Godfather sauce, green chilies, pepper jack, and steak). The recommended bread is the Dutch crunch and all sandwiches come with dirty sauce(garlic aioli kind of smeary orange goodness), tomatoes, and lettuce. The sandwiches are around $ 10 average and let me tell you: worth every cent. Super flavorful and a little messy but glorious, sandwichy delight. So, so good. I will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu. Really recommend the Jim Rome though – the pesto and avocado added a lot to the sandwich :)

Ike’s is a big big deal in the Bay Area. In Los Angeles, well, they’re getting there. I was pretty surprised when Ike’s was said to be opening in Westwood. And yet, I hadn’t had a chance to come until way more than a year later. Firstly, when you step into Ike’s, you’re taken aback by the number of sandwich options you have. It’s simply ridiculous how many varieties there are; maybe if you don’t wanna be put on the spot, you can research the different sandwiches online. What always always always happens, essentially, is that I choose a sandwich of a favorite athlete of mine. Like, I’m PRETTY sure I’ve never been to an Ike’s without falling into this little trend. Buster Posey, Madison Bumgarner(although I’m slightly surprised they have some of these Bay Area athletes at this location)…This time, I just had to do it. I got the Linsanity, named after Jeremy Lin(I was sold when they had a picture of him actually buying a sandwich). At $ 9.99, the Linsanity is on the higher end of sandwiches; it has avocado, Godfather sauce, havarti cheese, turkey, and voodoo heat chips. Ultimately, I thought it was alright; the Godfather sauce was a little too overpowering and the avocado wasn’t able to shine; instead, it just provided for a more creamy consistency. Thank goodness for the chips, though, since they kind of added the texture I was looking for: a little crunch with my munch. Basically, the sandwich is pretty big, and I only ended up eating like half. The next day, when I heated the sandwich leftovers, I found myself enjoying it a lot more for some reason – maybe it was the melted cheese? The outside seating area is nice; Westwood is a generally fun locale. However, there are no umbrellas or anything, so be forewarned that you may be subject to the sun’s ultralight beams(Kanye, anyone?). Ultimately, Ike’s always seems slightly expensive for a sandwich to me, but getting two meals out of it really kind of makes that more of a null point. Plus, I just feel like I haven’t hit my FAVORITE sandwich yet, so I hesitate to give Ike’s a lower rating. I genuinely think it’s a fun experience every time, and thus I’m really happy we have one here. BTW, the drawing of Ike still creeps me out. But that’s okay.

The Paul Reuben is fantastic! Pastrami, poppy seed coleslaw and pepper jack cheese. The best part is the creamy honey mustard! They put a lot of sauce in the sandwich! They have tons of sandwiches – i can’t speak for any of the other ones, but I highly recommend Paul Reuben!

We finally tried this place for lunch. I was craving bbq, so I went with the John Wooden sandwich. Although the sandwich was very tasty, it didn’t taste very much like bbq. I definitely enjoyed it, but it didn’t satisfy the craving for that good ol’ fashioned bbq sauce. One of my friends had the Green Lantern and the other had the Jim Rome. The Green Lantern was a hit, the Jim Rome was a bunk. The sandwiches are very big and will definitely fill you up. The bread is very yummy as well. Not bad for a $ 10 sandwich! :)

A really good sandwich, you’ll have to wait a little bit and pay a little more, but as a reward you get a good sandwich. When they ask if you want a lollipop say yes. They give out those caramel apple ones you probably haven’t had since you were a kid, or the last time you were at Ike’s. I ordered the Madison Bumgarner,(which has habanero sauce, American, Ike’s Yellow BBQ, Pepper Jack, thinly sliced rib eye) but they were out of both the habanero sauce and yellow BBQ mustard. So I ended up opting for a different sandwich instead. I ended up getting the Spiffy Tiffy instead which has: Avocado, Halal Chicken, Mushrooms, Pepper Jack, Pesto, Provolone. Chicken and Pesto is one of my favorite combinations in a sandwich, and in this one it really delivered. Everything worked well except the mushrooms, those just kinda were there tagging along. The dutch crunch bread is damned good! Came on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30 and it took maybe 10 minutes to get through the line and another 10 to get our food. The price wasn’t super cheap, but it’s reasonable. I think we paid around $ 13 per person for a sandwich + Drinks. And they have really good drinks(Bottle selection of various limeades, lemonades, etc). If you want food fast or cheap, this is not the best place for that. So if you’re hungry and going to bitch about standing in line, go to a faster restaurant and spare the people around you.

Great sandwiches. As a vegetarian, I love that there are options for me here besides the standard«veggie sandwich» offered at most sandwich places. If you’re vegan, there are a ton of vegan sandwiches with fake meat, but I prefer to stay away from fake meat(grosses me out). My favorite sandwich is the Shrek, which has grilled mushrooms, pesto, and ranch(as well as lettuce and tomatoes and cheese). It’s so decadent and delicious. Not a healthy choice, mind you. This isn’t the kind of place you go because you want to get skinny like Jared. It’s where you go when you want delicious messy fatty food all over your hands and face. In a good way. And of course, I have to mention the Dutch Crunch bread, which is one of the best things about Ike’s. It’s got crunchiness on the top which adds to the texture of any sandwich, but it’s also fresh and delicious and soft and chewy on the inside. So good.

I had Ike’s at his original location in SF, and this one is just as great! I swear, UCLA and UCI students have no idea how good they have it. I had the Super Mario and it was everything I wanted it to be. The proportions and combinations are well thought out. The meatball was nice and soft so it could even distributed for every bite. And the mozzarella sticks were the perfect compliment to the Mariana. I don’t think you’re going to find a better sandwich than Ike’s for the price. Only minor gripe is the wait. But I believe that’s due to making each sandwich fresh and with precision. You can’t rush art.

The first time I tried Ike’s was in San Francisco. I was beyond excited when I found out there was a local location! I tried the Matt Cain and it was heavenly. I’m usually not a fan of sandwiches, but this place changed that. Their sauce is really what makes all the difference. Also, the fact that they throw in a free caramel apple pop is so sweet! Only issue is that this place gets pretty crowded so keep that in mind, especially if you’re in a hurry.

Everyone raves about Ike’s in SF. Of all the times I’ve visited SF, I still have yet to eat there. However, I was visiting my alma mater in Westwood so I was able to buy a sandwich at Ike’s Place in Westwood. I ordered the Green Lantern with steak, roasted peppers, pepper jack, lettuce, and tomatoes on Dutch Crunch aka Tiger bread. They make sandwiches to order and they toast the bread too! You get a free bag of chips with Unilocal check-in and a free caramel apple lollipop with each order. They take credit cards which is a plus since most of their sandwiches are $ 8+. They have seating on their patio if you’re inclined to dine there. Most people grab a sandwich to go. My sandwich was delicious. I do see why everyone raves about Dutch Crunch though. Its soft and crispy exterior lends itself well to sandwiches. Its signature crackle is from the rice paste that is painted on top before the bread is baked. If you’re in the mood for a sandwich, head over to Ike’s to satisfy your cravings.

I love this place! I went here for the first time last week and I split«The Bruin» sandwich from the veggie menu. It was delicious. A few recommendations for your trip out there: 1. Get the sandwich on the classic Ike’s bread. 2. Check in on Unilocal and get a free bag of chips. 3. If you come in during«happy hour» on the week days, you get a free drink and chips with a sandwich. 4. The sandwiches would probably get soggy if you try to save it, so try to split the sandwich if you aren’t too hungry /can’t eat too much.

It’s very good. The menu is enormous. The staff is hipster chic. The location is busy. I came here for a quick lunch at the recommendation of a friend. I asked for something not too filling and it was suggested I try the Spiffy Tiffy. It was an amazing sandwich, but not what I was looking for. It also took over 15 minutes to create and that put my day behind schedule. For me, this would make an excellent cheat meal on a weekend. For a quick lunch spot on a weekday, this is not that. And that is my issue not theirs. They delivered on their promise of an amazing and original sandwich. I look forward to going back on a weekend with a buddy to try more of the menu. Advice: Know exactly what you want before you walk in or even phone-in your order.

Thank god there’s an Ike’s in SoCal!!! I’ve been to the Ike’s in the bay area & it’s basically the same thing you get here in LA. (-) The downfalls: — Parking(parking structures within walking distance available and you must pay. or street parking). or just walk lol — Inside Ike’s is small. Outdoor seating available only. (+) The positives: — 3 words for you: DUTCHCRUNCHBREAD. This bread just makes their sandwiches soo good! Soft and crispy! — Their sandwiches are HUGE. Do not underestimate the prices(most sandwiches range from $ 7 – 9.99) but you get a lot out of your money!!! Their sandwiches are cut in half and the half portion is already filling! Totally worth it. They have happy hour here! «The UCLA Happy Hour Special» I believe it’s Monday through Fridays 2−6pm: Buy any sandwich that’s $ 7.99 or more & get a bag of chips and bottled water/canned soda FREE!!! Good deal! My favorite sandwiches to recommend:(get the Dutch Crunch bread!!!) — The Spiffy Tiffy — Fresh Prince of Bel Air!

The gists: * This is for 40 Year-Old Virgin. * Disappointments: mozzarella sticks(not a good quality), too much ranch I usually get Spiffy Tiffy, but today I decided to be venturous and got 40 Year-Old Virgin(chicken fried steak, mozzarella sticks, marinara sauce, and ranch) with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on french bread. Since it’s finals week, I was craving to have something heavy, haha. However, to my disappointment, their mozzarella sticks were of poor quality(the texture was meh), and the sandwich overall had too much ranch in it. I didn’t think I would complain about ranch, but I couldn’t really taste other ingredients as much because of it. Maybe the next time I will ask for less ranch. I loved their french bread(the reason I got it was because they ran out of dutch crunch, because I went in late, it was 7, and they said that they ran out of bread an hour ago, around 6pm.) though. It was chewy and the thickness was just right that I didn’t feel like I had to chew my way to get to the middle part! So overall, I think I will stick to my regular Spiffy Tiffy and Adam Richmond, and if I am craving for anything extremely heavy, I will just walk a little bit further up to Fat Sal’s. However, I am glad to hear that they are trying to extend their hours til 10pm! In that case, hopefully they won’t run out of Dutch Crunch as soon :). Thank you, Ike’s!

my friend recommended this place because he said he tried the one in NorCal and loved it and we were in the area so we decided to stop by. Parking was so hard to find… there’s a parking structure right next to it but it’s like $ 2 for every 12 minutes. but why end up paying like $ 10 for garage parking when street parking is like $ 2 for an hour? so we circled different streets for 15 minutes and finally found a spot a block away. I was already pretty hangry(It was almost 2pm and I still didn’t eat yet and I couldn’t find parking lols) and was gonna give up and find a place to eat somewhere else, but I’m glad I didn’t! We walked in and the cashier was more than happy to help us and recommend certain items. I got the Spiffy Tiffy with the Dutch crunch, their most popular bread.(of course I’d get the sandwich with my name in it: P but the ingredients did sound good!) and it was so good. they put a lot of avocado(it kept spilling out of my sandwich). it has chicken, mushrooms, avocado, provolone, and pesto. twas delicious! I was debating between getting this and the Jim Rome sandwich. my friend got the ménage a trois which is really good too! it has halal chicken, BBQ, honey mustard, pepper jack, bacon?, cheddar. but it’s actually one of their most popular sandwiches. I’m not sure if it’s everyday, but they have a deal where if you get a sandwich over a certain price, and it’s 2pm-4pm(? not sure how long the deal goes for) you get a free bag of chips and drink! they don’t have fountain drinks so it’s all bottled sodas. thankfully we got there after 2 so coming here for my first time, my experience was great!(minus the parking) free bag of chips and soda and a delicious sandwich?! Seating is outdoor seating with a few tables. it’s more of a to-go kind of place. I think if I went to UCLA, I’d come to Ike’s all the time. I’d rather come here instead of going to subway. Ike’s sandwiches are pretty filling too! I wish I lived closer… I don’t like to deal with LA traffic/Westwood parking so I don’t know the next time I’ll stop by… but hopefully soon!

This place has over 300 sandwiches so it was hard to decide. Once it opened, I ordered spiffy tiffy sandwich with gala chicken, pesto, mushrooms on Dutch bread. It taste so good that I ate the whole sandwich. The bread is very soft. I also checked in on Unilocal to get free bag of chips. Those caramel lollipops that come with every sandwich. What more would you want out of a sandwich shop? On the corner of happiness and heart attacks, you will find Ike’s, a small interior with some patio seating. I love Ike’s just as much as the next novice Westwood adventurer, with its countless array of sandwiches that are named after people and everything you would find in the middle aisle of the supermarket that people only go through to get to the other side. Needless to say, I never know what I order, and I never know what’s inside. But frankly it doesn’t matter. It always tastes like heaven stuffed between the toasted hands of God being shoved down your throat. Don’t forget to peel away that annoying paper wrapping. The water dispenser inside is kind of scanty. It is literally screaming at you to open the fridge next to it and grab that ice-cold lemonade. Yeah, I’m onto you, evil water dispenser. If you have a toaster oven in your apartment, tastes twice as good the second time around. 200% agreed upon by popular opinion.

Don’t be intimidated by their menu because everything is just delicious but which ever sandwich you choose, make sure you pair it up with some dutch crunch bread! Get some of the Voodoo chips they sell because they really do compliment the sandwich. It’s so damn good I can’t bring myself to try anything else on their menu. All their sandwiches are extremely unique and have colorful names. We came to this location Friday night. Luckily no wait time. We got to meet Ike himself who was incredibly personable, sweet; good to know all the success hasn’t gone to his head. He actually got in on the action and made my cousins sandwich himself, which was incredibly nice. You want a quality, delicious sandwich at a reasonable price? Look no further!

3.5 stars for now. These are some tasty but heavy sandwiches. I got the Spiffy Tiffy(Halal chicken, mushrooms, avocado, pesto, provolone, and pepper jack) and my friend got the Menage A Trois(BBQ halal chicken, honey mustard, swiss cheese, pepper jack, and cheddar) on Dutch crunch bread with extra dirty sauce. Each comes down to about $ 10, a bit on the pricier side, but they are some hefty sandwiches. If you’re planning to do something, like study after eating here, then do yourself a favor and split one sandwich with a friend or save half for later. The Spiffy Tiffy can be dry at times, so you can order your sandwich with extra dirty sauce. Friend said his Menage A Trois was too much on the sweet side. Check-in on Unilocal and get a free bag of chips with your purchase; I’m also a fan of how they give you a caramel apple pop with every sandwich you order. Place closes at 8pm, would be nicer if they were open late. Parking is awful, it’s Westwood.
