Had a terrible experience. They took 20 minutes to tell me that they can’t serve my order so I changed my order. The order took another 15 minutes to come with no salt or spice in the food. The people there were very rude with very poor customer service attitude.

Dahl and garlic naan were very good. Prices were excellent! Atmosphere was a little bit grungy, but not bad.

I always get Thali with garlic nan. Price was raised from $ 5.99 to $ 6.50, still a great deal for Indian vegetarian food around this location. Food isn’t as great as some Indian places on the Westside, that’s reason for the 4 stars. Friendly service though. The sweets here are the bomb too :)

Delicious and hospitable. They only accept cards after $ 15. I did not have cash so they told me that I can pay next time I come. Very trusting and nice people. I’ll be back for sure.

As Indians and vegetarians, this is our favorite haunt for Indian food in LA(except Little India in Artesia — too far to drive for us). The place is very nondescript but the food is absolutely authentic in taste, prepared fresh and super delicious! Everything we have tried on the menu has turned out good, my personal favorite is aloo paratha. We have tried many Indian restaurants, most of them make the food too greasy or unnecessarily spicy but here food is closest to what we had at home. I recommend this to all my friends who want to try Indian vegetarian food in LA without having to drive all the way to Pioneer Blvd in Artesia.

Because of all the good reviews, I drove from Pasadena to this sweet house in order to buy some Jalebis. I have already tasted them in Artesia and they were really good. I just can tell that it was a huge disappointment. They were not juicy and smelt burned oil. The syrup wasn’t made as it should have and you could taste the dried sugar. They were not fresh and tasteful. Compare to ladoos I ate in Artesia for Indian independent day, their ladoos were so so. The Halva was ok. I used to praise indian Jalebis compare to Persian ones and yesterday when I bought a box of sweets and took it to my friend’s house, everybody present over there was disappointed. I have to mention that they were all very friendly, nice, and patient with me and my curiosity and passion for Indian culture. Even thought the customer service was good, I won’t definitely go back there to buy my lovely Jalebis.

Mission accomplished! Finally found the BEST vegetarian Indian restaurant in LA. I like to leave good reviews(of course honest), but this place deserves more than that. Each and every items we ate there had unique & authentic flavor. How do I know, cuz I always eat Indian foods & probably tried most of the Indian restaurants in LA. Masala Dosa — The stuffings inside was delish & I could tell they used fresh ingredients. The sides complimented the dosa as well. Can be shared by two persons. Dahi puri — Spicy & combination of so many spices. Flavor bursted in my mouth. But I wouldn’t eat it first, cuz rest of the items will taste bland after this. Chole Bhature — Fried puffed bread was amazing! Comes with Chole(Garbanzo curry), but we also tried the Bhature with Shahi Paneer(Cottage cheese in special curry) & it was bomb! Mixed paratha — Probably the only thing that kinda lacked flavor. But I’m quite sure it was because I’ve tried more flavorful foods earlier Rasmalai — Heaven! Sweets — My ‘o My! I had to take the assorted box to try different sweets. You can pick whatever u like & $ 8/lbs felt like a steal to me. This is my ultimate to go Indian place. This is the BEST Indian restaurant I’ve ever been into. And I approve this message. :) Enjoy!

Had Bhel Puri. It was not at all good. It was full of potatoes(and tasteless), less or no onions, very less sev, less quantity. The Pani Puri was horrible, so so sour! P. S.: SuDgaDu!

Excellent for what it is. Inexpensive authentic Indian food served Informally over the counter. I had paratha mix/gobhi, a large pancake made with cauliflower and peas and served with a dab of yogurt and a spoonful of salty chutney. Delicious. I will be back

I’m giving this four stars because it’s sketchy looking outside, and the inside is very bare-bones. But it’s five stars overall for this type of place! Just think twice before bringing your hot date here. Also I have to say that I loved the family like atmosphere here — a lot of people seemed to know each other and most were actually Indian which was kind of fun for me as a non-Indian! After seeing this photo you might imagine this meal was meant for a large family or a small army — but no! This was just your average dinner for my mom and I. Pictured: daal(lentils), Aloo Gobi(cauliflower and potato dish), saag paneer(spinach and cheese dish — looks awful but tastes pretty good.) vegetable stuffed bread, delicious chutney sauce, and the sad remains what was once our mango lassi, samosas, and pakora. My favorites for the bread, the Pakora, and the spinach. So good! Least favorites were the daal and aloo Gobi, but that’s not really fair of me because I never really love those dishes :-) they’re a bit too bland for me! But the vegetable stuffed bread was freaking good and I could eat 1 million of them. I used the bread as a tortilla and put all the different things inside and my mom kept calling it an Indian burrito. But whatever it was, it was delicious. I would also like to mention the adorable store owner man, who is very clever and funny and nice. For all of that it was $ 26.

Great place for Indian vegetarian food that’s not very expensive. The Aloo Paratha and the matar paneer along with the green chutney are my favourites.

For many years this has been such a great place to have in the neighborhood. Unfortunately the son has taken over from his father and seem hell bent on destroying the business. They are supposed to be open until 9pm, but I was there at 8:25pm the other night and he said they close at 8:30. I pointed to the clock on the wall that said it was not yet 8:30 and he responded by saying he closes when he wants to. Sadly, looking at the recent reviews on here, this place won’t be open much longer, unless he changes his tune or someone else takes over.

Authentic, fantastic, hole-in-the-wall Indian food straight from the chaat sellers in India. The place may not look great, but the prices are unbeatable and the food is fantastic. I love stopping by for a meal after I get groceries next door at the Indian store! The owner is very nice. There is a great variety of food available — thali, aloo parathas, pav bhaji, chole bhature, and the list goes on. They have homemade salty snacks(namkeen) available, as well as a variety of Indian sweets made in house. Love this place!

I was doing laundry next door at Love Laundry and decided to check this place out. Now I think this will be my laundry night tradition! The owner is so nice and loaded my plate up. When I couldn’t decide on which kind of chicken I wanted he put a little of each on my plate. He described to me what everything was too, which was so nice. Tons of good food for an excellent price. Great place!

Parathas! So delicious. Great little spot for Indian food. A no-frills restaurant with very fair prices and tasty treats. My friend and I split a paratha aloo, some samosas, and bhel puri, a crispy rice dish with peanuts, onions, and some kind of sauce. All of it came out piping hot and tasty. Delicious stuff. We need decent parathas in San Diego!

Amazing. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place in college, so glad to have at least found it now. Homestyle indian food. Giant punjabi aloo parantas, fresh yogurt, lots of hari mirchi and onions and other condiments. Papdi chaat is excellent, their gulab jamun is to die for, excellent chai, and decent aloo gobi Pricing is unbeatable. If you’re homesick and missing mom’s indian food, coming here is a MUST.

India Sweet House was probably one of the first Indian restaurants in the LA area i remember going there as a kid and eating kachoris which they still serve and yopu must try it. Their Gulab Jamuns are the best, maybe even better than India . It is a vegetarian place and they always serve fresh food which is good, the parathas are really really good. The only one thing that bothers me is the wait time for the food i know it is being prepared fresh but still, some people get served before others even if they have placed their order first, other than that they are very friendly
