I shot a web short at Indie Lab’s bar set on Tuesday, November 5th. I read the previous two reviews and I must say that I had a different and much more positive experience. I met with Eurika when I first scouted the location and she was able to answer all my questions and was great about staying in touch until the day of my shoot. Although the studio does not have equipment on sight, they are able to obtain it for you the day of your shoot for a great price. On the day of the shoot, Eurika made sure she was there because she was the person that I had been communicating with. I thought that was a nice personal touch and I really appreciated it. Nobody else was filming on the day that we were so we were able to easily move about the studio and use their kitchen, dressing room, and make-up area with free reign and with no interruptions. The set that we were shooting inside – the bar set – took some time to rearrange to get the look we wanted, but once we figured out the space it looked better than I had initially envisioned! We heard very few outside noises all day besides a few expected occasional street sounds such as garbage trucks, etc. but nothing that was unusual. We were wrapped on our 12th hour on the dot, but still had a bit of clean-up to do and Eurika was kind enough not to charge us extra for staying a few minutes late. In fact, she made it a point to thank us for being respectful of the space and easy to work with. The only reason I gave Indie Lab Film Studios 4 instead of 5 stars is that the parking lot across the street filled up fast and some of my cast and crew had to park a couple blocks away. Other than that, 5 stars! I’m looking forward to hopefully filming there again sometime.
