This place the bomb(so to speak). The food is excellent; great tasting and well prepared. Having Vahid as our server was just an added plus. He made us feel as if we were in his home, eating home prepared koobideh. What can you say about Vahid? So friendly, funny, and attentive. I vote for a raise for Vahid :) Priced very reasonably; you really cannot go wrong here. We ordered for appetizers Eggplant and Tadig; both excellent. Our chicken and beef Khoobideh tasted great, as well as the Filet Mignon Barg… Even the raw Onion tasted better than other restaurants. How many more compliments? Hmmmm… .the butter is better here. Yes, I am Chinese, but married to wonderful Persian girl for 12 years. BOTH of us were at dinner; we both agreed Javan was a great choice. For sure another visit!

This is the best Persian food you’ll find in Beverly Hills or Westwood. Absolutely, fresh and well cooked. Very clean. Much better than the other competitors in the areas I mentioned. Javan thank you for always delivering our food HOT and being so kind. They even are super nice when they take your order. Not rude at all. Very respectful! Unlike the others. Hands down the best Persian spot in LA!

This place was interesting. Definitely an experience with a good vibe. I was surprised to see Oliveh salad on the menu as that is typically a Russian food… So I had to order that just to try it out. It was delicious. Then I had the salmon with a Javan Salad instead of the rice it comes with. That was really good as well. The service was also pretty fast which I liked. The servings are quite large so there was definitely food for lunch the next day.

Came here to celebrate my gf’s acceptance into school and the kabobs were succulent and tender. I ordered beef and chicken which were seasoned very well and delicious. The service was the icing on the cake made possible by Majid. He catered to every need in a flash and was very thorough. Definitely will come back and an overall enjoyable experience.

The food here is consistently delicious and Majid our server was friendly and very attentive. He went out of his way to make our dining experience a memorable one. I recommend the chicken kabob plate, ash joe, tadig, and the eggplant appetizers. The rose water ice cream with starchy noodles was a delight. I highly recommend Javan’s. Ask for Majid as your server, you will not be disappointed.

If you’re on the Westside and craving Persian cuisine, Javan is THE place to go. Everything from the service(Vahid is awesome!) to the food to the ambiance is top notch. I’ve been visiting Javan for several years and have been consistently happy with the restaurant. With so many other options for Persian food in West LA, I still always choose Javan over any other place. Food: I generally start out with an order of must o’ kheyar(yogurt with cucumber and herbs) and tadigh w/gheymeh(crispy rice topped with a beef and split pea stew). Both of these appetizers are so delicious and the portions are generous. There’re not too heavy, which is great because you’ll want to save room for the main course! For the entrée, I recommend the rack of lamb or filet mignon combo. The meat is always very tender and cooked just perfect. Similar to the appetizers, the meat portions are always generous; one entrée could be enough to feed two people! Take out: Ordering take out from Javan is available and just as great as dining in. They always have my order correct and ready for pick up in the amount of time mentioned. Parking: There’s plenty of meter parking next to the restaurant on Santa Monica Blvd. and Butler.

Like Persian food? Enjoy good customer service? Have a craving for taddeg? Well you’re in for a treat coming here! Majid the server right off the bat was amazing and made this entire dinning experience perfect(without him I would have gave this place 4 stars, so make sure he serves your table.)

Service service service! Did I mention the service? AAA+ for service. Yavid was on top of his game and made absolutely sure I was reminded that I was in his care and that I would be taken care of for the evening. He sure delivered. In all my experiences with service in 2015, I’d have to give Yavid the award for the person that provided the best service for my dining pleasure.(cue applause****) Thanks to his recommendations, I ended up wrapping up my meal with a delightful glass of persian tea. Mindblown, that really was the game-changer as it really tapered the experience from the highlights of the meal to a muscle As for the taste of the food overall, it was good, but not spectacular. I’d say that my favorite item for the evening was the filet mignon. Now that was something that I can still distinctly remember being fantastic and noteworthy. My reasons for coming back to Javan, and I will be back, would have to be attributed to Yavid’s service and the filet mignon plate.

Really liked it! $ 1 wine with a Unilocal check-in was just the right starting point, followed up by good appetizers and a delicious main course. Majid took great care of us, helping out with some solid recommendations and dessert at the end. A solid place to start an LA vacation off right.

This restaurant is exceptional. I went with my boyfriend and another couple and we all loved everything. Appetizer: We ordered the tardig with 2 stews. Fesenjon and Gameh. Both were very good. I don’t like fesenjon and I liked theirs. We also had salad shirazi and musto– khiar. Also, very good. I like that they have you an extra lime for the salad shirazi. Dinner: We had the boneless chicken and soltani. The quality of the chicken and meat were great. Also, everything was cooked to perfection. The food melts in your mouth. The rice was perfect too. Dessert: We had tea and Persian pastries. Can’t go wrong with these options. Ambiance: They had a guy playing music and it was just enough to liven the mood but not too much that it got in the way of our conversation. We stayed about an hour after we finished eating and just relaxed and enjoyed our tea. We weren’t rushed at all. Service: The service was superb. From the minute we walked in until we left, everyone was great. However, Majid, our server treated us like royalty. He was there at the perfect time. We never had to wait for anything. He’s fantastic. Thank you Majid for making our dinner experience so great. I highly recommend this place! We will be going back soon!

My family has been ordering take-out from Javan for years, but this past week we felt like a nice outing and decided to dine-in. The restaurant has a nice calming atmosphere, and from start to finish the service was excellent. We brought along our 4 and 2 year old sons, and the staff is super kid-friendly, they even brought a high chair without us even having to ask for it! And extra bread right away as both kids were devouring it. We ordered our usual boneless chicken kebab plate and chicken koobideh plate, and the meat is always cooked perfectly and so flavorful and moist. My husband also tried some beef this time, which he said was excellent. All plates come with a large quantity of rice and salad as well. The food is so consistent here and I am so glad to have a go-to persian restaurant not too far from us! Will be back soon I am sure.

First time at Javan and the customer service and food quality was exceptional. Our waiter Majid was knowledgable and went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with the food choices. The lamb was so tender, soaked in a tomato base broth. Ahmazing!!! Majid suggested the chicken dish and it was moist and tasty! Can’t wait to Come back for the loving hospitality. Ask for Majid, he will take care of you!

First off, $ 1 wine with a Unilocal check-in… any red wine! I had the Zin and it was fabulous! Our wonderful server, Majid, guided us through our dinner. We were going to order the combo appetizer, but they brought us out both a stew and a salad complimentary(SONICE!), so we added just the borani spinach and dolma. Everything was incredibly delicious. Our entrees: grilled chicken & ground beef skewers, both wonderful and moist and so much rice! He has the rice with lentils and dates and I chose the one with cherries. This was an outstanding meal, with even better service: interesting and unique(to me!) and fun to explore my own neighborhood.

This place is pretty tasty. I ordered the chicken kabob and I was able to try the filet mignon kabob as well. The meat was so tender and juicy on both items. I also requested the spiciest sauce they had and it wasn’t as spicy as I wanted it to be. But you can ask for that if you want some extra flavor. We had a bottle of Pinot Noir as well that was mediocre. I do not remember the name, unfortunately. The interior is nice for elder peeps. It’s a rather large restaurant so you don’t necessarily need to book reservations. I don’t think they have a parking lot either so you have to search street parking, which isn’t so bad in the area.

My friends and I came here for dinner tonight for the first time in years and we’re so glad we did! The food was amazing: we got the beef soltani, ghaymeh stew and of course tadig. It was all delicious! The best part was our server Majid! He was so attentive and kind and really took care of us. We felt comfortable staying after for tea and hanging out unlike some places that try to kick you out and rush you with the check. Oh, and lastly, if you go, make sure to check in so you can have a glass of wine for $ 1! We will definitely be coming back again :)

My friends and I decided to come here last minute, and I’m so glad we did. We ended up having an amazing dinner with live music, completely by accident. Our waiter, Vahid, went way beyond out of his way to serve us. I ordered the chicken barg along with the Chianti, and my friends got the koobideh with merlot and the chengeh kabobs. Mine was amazing; we all almost finished the plates despite how big they were. Even though it was $ 19 and $ 1 for the glass of wine, it was absolutely worth the price for the experience and everything else we got to try! At the start of the meal, Vahid gave us an appetizer on the house to try, and at the end, Persian tea and sparkling water. He was so sweet and so friendly, it definitely made me want to come back! He works on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. If you come, you should definitely look for Vahid, he’s great! I can’t wait to come back!

This is a gem in West LA. I came here often during my SMC years with friends, usually after class. Coming here brings back great memories. Parking in West LA is known to be a hassle. But Javan has their own parking lot, and you access it by turning into the alley just west of the building, from westbound Santa Monica Blvd. The parking is $ 1 for 2 hours with validation. I went in there today, and there was no wait. I ordered the filet mignon kebab, white rice, and green salad. The food came out relatively quick. This plate had more than the average Persian plate. It all went together well. The meat was delicious and juicy, the rice was cooked well, and the veggies were grilled to perfection. I saved the salad for last, and topped it all off with two cups of chai. Their tea is pretty smooth, far smoother than most places I’ve been to. For a Persian taste in West LA, come here. I recommend it.
