La gente que atiende súper amable nos regalaron 2 tacos de carnitas, eso nos dejó impresionados. Las carnitas muy ricas y no le piden nada a las de Quiroga Michoacán The people who works here is super nice and kind, they gave us 2 free tacos just because, we are Impressed. also, they are very good carnitas the can compete with the real one from Quiroga Micoacan

We all have a local spot near work for great street tacos. Well… this would be my spot for HUGE tasty street tacos. I came here with a few coworkers for lunch on a tip from a friend at work. We anticipated a long line and indeed it was. The wait was about 5 min. But the butcher was nice enough to give each of us a free carnitas taco for the wait. He didn’t have to do that. Plus one star for that. Various meat selection from carne asada, heart and liver to goat head and brains and lengua and tripas. I don’t go crazy with the meat selection and play it safe with dos de carnitas. The meat is juicy and packed with flavor. Meat portion are out of bounce crazy. Like two for one taco big. Side condiments near the bar style seating area and its on with the grub. Mexican soda available to wash it down and your set. Great service, inexpensive and excellent authentic street tacos give this place 5 stars. Tortas and burritos look good but haven’t tried. I can’t wait to be back for the burrito ftw. Best place for tacos near Bunker Hill for sure.

Passed by this place many times for carnitas taco samples. Finally got to try this place due to the long lines at Eggslut. Ordered the carnitas, ornejas(ears), and the cueritos(skin). Liked the carnitas, the most. Awesome place for a quick bite. Don’t forget the Mexican Coke.

Bomb. Just bomb. First time here and took a little longer than i would have liked to get service but totally worth it.(could have also been the people in front of me ordered 6 tortas and 2 tacos and kept joking back and forth with the taco guy).

One if the greatest Mexican restaurant, they have the best tasting taco in the area. Waiting time is not a issue, its just a couple of seconds away from your war tasting taco. Service is flawless, you cant see any bad thing about it. The place was a little small but has great cool ambiance. Everything was great.

I was in line to get some Eggslut when this smiling guy was chopping up fresh carnitas and handing out sample tacos. I’ve eaten carnitas since I could walk and this place has the best carnitas I’ve ever had. Next time I’m taking a few pounds home Michigan style

I love this place! It is a must when ever I am in town. Their portions are huge and the meat is so good you don’t even have to add anything to it.

The experience eating the all pork tacos here is – in my opinion – the closest thing to sex that you are going to get. Seriously, sex. With skin and tendons and stomach and belly and fat and the whole thing. Pick up a taco, get in that 45-minute Eggslut line, and see if you can make it last longer than two minutes. You probably won’t.

Simple carnitas tacos and done well. Very generous portions as well as a free taco while you wait. It’s rare to see a place do carnitas with larger primal cuts, most joints do just shoulder. So here you can get bits of fat, skin, offal. Delicious and everything a carnitas taco should be.

I walked around Grand Central Market to explore and wound up at this place. They handed me a sample of a taco and I was hooked. The carnitas tacos are melt in your mouth delicious and it does not even need sauce! The corn tortillas are fresh, warm and fluffy and the carnitas are juicy and flavorful. I have no idea why this place has so little reviews!

This place is hands down one of the best tacos I’ve probably ever had. They’re very generous with their portions and they’ll give out free pork taco samples if you happen to stand a bit too close to them. Totally an easy way to get a free quick snack. But it’s so good you end up actually making a purchase. It’s definitely a no frills place compared the poshness of most other stores in the GCM. But you know good food doesn’t need a fancy sign or name. Good food is good food and that’s exactly what Las Morelianas is. You must order the cueritos(skin) tacos. Oh my god the fat dripping off that looks like it’s going to give me a heart attack but at the very least I’ll die happy with a full stomach. It’s so flavorful and cooked just right. You can’t go wrong with any of their tacos. It’s so cheap too! Considering the hipness of the GCM I was totally expecting a single taco to cost 2.50 which is what their menu price lists. But they give you enough meat to possibly fill 3 tacos and 2 tortillas. At 1.25 each you really can’t go wrong. I was full off of just two orders of tacos. I did go for dessert afterwards but I definitely felt like my stomach was going to explode!

I went to the Grand Central Market for Eggslut, saw this place while waiting in the absurdly long line for eggslut. The carnitas looked amazing so I stood in line to order a couple carnitas tacos. While waiting they handed me a little carnitas taco, I was a bit confused and disappointed because it was soo small, but when I ate it OMG it was amazing. I ate it as fast as I could cause I thought they gave it to me by accident, and then I realized it was just a free taco. So I ordered two tacos and man they were STUFFED with carnitas. Now, I’m not carnitas expert, but goddamn this was the best carnitas I have ever had in my life. Super tender, fatty, juicy. I came to the Grand Central Market for Eggslut, and seriously these carnitas blew that shit out of the water. If eggslut was smart, they’d do a collaboration sandwich using these carnitas. Seriously. You can pay me royalties later.

Great service, loads of meat, cheap price, and variety of different meats. Cueritos is not a typical meat for taco lovers but it is served here! Lengua is bomb AF! Tip: Just hang around and you’ll get a free taco!(not of choice)

My buddy and I were entertaining our mutual friend from the Bay and we brought her to Grand Central Market, so that she could get a good taste of LA. As soon as we walked in to the Market, a young man offered my two friends a free sample of their carnitas. My buddy is Asian and our friend is Caucasian. I’m not Latino but I’m brown and get mistaken for Latino every day. I assume that they were offered the samples and I wasn’t because I look like I should already know what carnitas taste like. I’m not one to easily play the race card and for all I know, the young man could’ve just not liked my face, or maybe he just simple skipped me. Whatever the reason, I was offended and went elsewhere in the market to buy a carnitas burrito. My friend knowing I was angry and unaware that I was buying food elsewhere, bought me two tacos here. I hate to admit it but they were delicious. The carnitas were moist and with some lime squeezed and seasoned with salt were to die for. But because of my experience, what easily could have been a solid four-star rating is now just three stars. I will not be returning.

We went to Eggslut and we passed many places in Grand Central Market that we wanted to go to. This place was right next door and I read a review for the carnitas taco that was just amazing. So, after my breakfast, I ordered 1 carnitas taco. It was glorious. I got a Mix of all the different parts of carnitas. I got another one and I wanted to stuff my mouth with more. The best carnitas I’ve ever had. I hope to have more before I leave LA.

I walk around aimlessly during my lunch hour and stumbled into the GCM. I found this place as I walked out and the nice guy at the counter hands me a free taco sample. I was seriously tempted to walk away since I just got a free lunch, but the deliciousness of the taco was overpowering! Ended up ordering 2 tacos and a horchata. Probably one of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Salsa bar is available and the red sauce is «lips on fire» hot! I can’t wait to go back!

This place serves up a mean carnitas taco. The meat is more tender than crispy and each taco consists of two steaming hot tortillas piled with savory chopped carnitas and strips of pork skin. The tacos are served to you plain and there are two self-serve bars with salsa options, onion, cilantro, chilies, limes and pickled accoutrements to prepare as you wish. I’ve always found the workers to be very attentive. They’re proud of their product and are quick to hand you a sample of their carnitas, picked right off the slab and rolled up in a hot tortilla. At $ 2.50 a taco it’s a tasty and inexpensive option. Eat while standing. They taste better that way.

This is my favorite spot in Grand Central Market. I love Las Morelianas because it’s not flashy, hip, or new; it just serves some of the best carnitas outside of Michoacan, aka the Mecca of all good things carnitas. It’s my kind of eating: simple and easy to do while standing around(and while you’re reading the menu, they’ll often give you a sample taco). When you order the carnitas, be sure to ask for the mixta, which is a mixture of various parts of the pig, aka snout, skin, ear, cheek, etc. You’ll receive a large portion of their perfectly seasoned and spiced carnitas, served fresh and hot in a warm tortilla. As you move down the counter to pay, you can add onions, cilantro, salsa, lime, etc., but I’d recommend going easy on the fixings since the main attraction here is that fistful of heavenly pork you’re about to devour. Highly recommended.

Tacos here aren’t the best I’ve had, but they’re a good bargain– $ 2.50 will get you four corn tortillas, a heap of chopped lengua, and a scoop of chopped onions and cilantro. The lengua was tender but not as flavorful as I’d like, and the proportions of onion and cilantro were off, but two big tacos for $ 1.25 each is not a bad deal at all. However, there are better tacos to be had in the GCM.

Juicy, filling, and did I mention racist? Grand Central Market is gradually picking up speed with various new, sensational eateries but don’t pass by Las Morelianas without giving this place a try. Plato de carnitas($ 7.75) — I like how they don’t even bother translating it. It stands for«a plate of delicious, juicy, mouth-watering pork meat that melts in your mouth.» One caveat — it’s rice, bean, and carnitas with a stack of flour tortilla. That’s like eating 7 – 9 tacos. It’s an ample amount of meat and carb. Don’t forget all the condiments: onions, cilantro, green sauce, red sauce, roasted carrots — make sure you fill up a couple plastic cups with you before you find your seat or just sprinkle it all over your tray(save yourself a trip). When I read about others being seduced to buy a plate here with a free sample of tortilla wrapped carnitas, I realized I have been deceived. And I thought I was someone special… All kidding aside, it is quite a treat to even just have a bite of the juicy carnitas. It got me to choose here over all the other places. I was fortunate enough to come here on for a weekday lunch so I can’t speak about the people traffic and line that others have faced but be warned that the line can get crazy on the weekends. First impress: I walked up to the stand and was ignored for a good 2 minutes while the staff chats with another customer in Spanish. Then, this same Hispanic staff glanced over at me and ask if I’m his Filipino staff’s cousin… then proceed to question me about where I’m from. Really? If you’re in the area, definitely stop by Las Morelianas to see if it’s your cup of tea. Don’t be too alarmed if the staff start verbally jerk you around — think of it as part of the local experience.
