Amazing people who work here, Amazing service and food! Love this place so much. We go several times a week:) their gazpacho is amazing, their advocado toast is also super good and the goat cheese omelet is great! :)

This is a great venue, right next to tender greens on 6th street. Ample patio seating(with heaters), a rarity in downtown. A group of coworkers(4 ppl total) went for lunch today. It was steady, by no means ‘slammed.’(I’ve been a server trust me). Service was beyond slow. It took us a solid hour and fifteen for lunch. Way too long for the average working professional. Besides the slow service, the food was delicious. Really creative, fresh ingredients and pretty authentic for French lunch type food. Everyone was pleased with their dishes. I got an open faced ricotta, prosciutto, fig and honey tartini. It was really good and not heavy. It is pricey for the portion size, be warned. Salads are substantial. Next time I come here I will be going for a salad.

Take out review: I ordered the chocolate croissant, lattes, waffle with berries, and chicken chorizo My reason for the 2 stars is the tiny size of the waffle, they forgot to deliver the croissant but charged me for it, and it was soooo overpriced. The omelette and waffle were tasty, but not worth the price IMO.

The joy of watching others enjoy their food was fun here. My frittata was awesome and flavored perfectly. Watching a young lady eat her parfait truly has been fun. A young family eating their croissants has been equally enjoyable. Probably one of the most perfect mochas I have ever experience. Nice and attentive staff too. Definitely will be back when downtown.

Great service from Genesis and Paulina! So charming and friendly! I had an omelet that was hearty for the price and sides of salad and baguette. The music and atmosphere are really great, everything seemed so organized and clean — the management there must be top notch! I’ll definitely be going back with friends to try the deserts!

OK food is good and service is good, décor is quite great! But it is SOOVERPRICED!!! I ordered tea advertised at $ 2.10 but on the check it was $ 3.70 and an Apricot desert priced at $ 3.50 on a little sign next to the desert, but it was $ 5.70 on the check. Waitress said it was two prices, one for dine in and another for take out. It’s my first time here, and unless I am forced to have meeting here another time… it’ll be my last time. Too bad, because it has a beautiful location. The place is empty, one other person here. Maybe that’s why?

My second time here and again this place hits the mark. I had the tofu scramble and I just love the way they prepare it then bring a little salad on the side as well. It was delicious. The menu has a lot of different types of food, many that can be customized for vegan/vegetarian as well. The bakery goods look amazing but unfortunately they are not vegan but I wish someone would eat one just to tell me how good they are. Love the little coffee pot too.

Beautiful setting, friendly staff — good recommendation from Chris on the Lox Scramble. Very relaxing and a feel of having breakfast in Paris.

For the prices here your service should really be better than a Chinese restaurant. 1.5 FOODQUALITY: Smoked salmon tartine. Except for the smoked salmon, completely bland. Bread was plain, and smoked salmon was lightly covered with dill and scallions with a couple pieces of avocado. There really wasn’t any effort in making it look or taste good, especially when the salmon had discoloration on one of the pieces(store your food right…) Capers would have made the recipe much better, or something acidic or even have the bread slightly toasted. And the water here tastes funny. Like. bathroom faucet water. SERVICE: Seven minutes to get a menu. Good job! Your service is really up to par with the restaurant style. ENVIRONMENT: It’s pretty, peaceful, and clean inside. The environment is pretty inviting making for a good casual breakfast/date spots and there’s an outdoor patio with lights that make for a romantic night. Howeeeeverr … I’m not coming back here ever again. Sorry.

One of the latest additions to downtown LA’s improved eateries. This place is right by my work and I used to come a lot. Pros: — tons of organic items — fresh baked bread and pastries — great selection of breakfast and lunch items — variety of daily specials — decent sized to-go section with sandwiches, parfaits, etc… Cons: — EXPENSIVE and they nickel and dime you. For example: I went in and purchased a breakfast item menu for take out. It came with bread and some jam. When I asked for a side of nutella, they wanted to charge me $ 2! But if I ate in, I could have used the complimentary nutella at the table. Seriously? I just scooped some and put it in my box, because after paying out the nose for it, I was not gonna pay extra for smthg that would be free if I ate there. — Inflexibility and different treatment depending on your server: For a while when I was pregnant I would go to LPQ almost daily and get a turkey/avocado toast thing. Anyway I kept subbing one item out for extra pickles and I never had any problems. Until one day when the waiter wanted to charge me like $ 3 for a tiny side of pickles, just because, even though I had never had an issue before with subbing items. That was pretty annoying — especially since I was pregnant! — Incorrect orders: On at least 2 occasions I have bought something and brought it back to my office only to see that they made a mistake in part of my order or forgot something. And no I don’t want to walk back and deal with it during my measly 30 minute lunch break. So I suffer and complain about it on Unilocal Overall the food is tasty and good quality, but I can’t see myself coming here as frequently as I used to because it is expensive and the customer service is hit-or-miss and they have really dumb policies in place that other joints nearby do not. If you don’t care about your customers to bend your rules a little here and there then I’m not going to be the one to shell out my hard earned cash.

I love this place! Separate vegan options! I’m in LA for a client this week and I decided early on that because there’s such good food here I would never go to the same place twice, but Le Pain Quotidien made me break my rule. The ambiance is amazing, and reminds me of the cafes I went to in Paris and Rome when I studied abroad in Europe. My favorite part is the communal table with jams and cookbooks set up that reminds me of a kitchen table in a(very) nice house. The service is also 10⁄10 with extremely friendly waiters that check on you regularly and remember you when you come in again. Most importantly the food: this place has a separate vegan menu section and both of the items I tried — the Avocado Toast and the Chia Seed Pudding were amazing. The Belgian Hot Chocolate is a little expensive, but so elegantly presented and so tasty it is definitely worth it! If you’re lactose intolerant/vegan they also have soy milk and almond milk as options! Definitely recommend this place if you’re a solo consultant who wants to talk to some people and make friends on the communal table(I hate eating alone!). Also a great spot to take a girl for brunch. Especially if she’s a health nut/foodie. A little $$$ though!

Came here for lunch with a coworker. The area is very cute with nice patio seating. Bakery goods all looked good but overall I thought the food was just average. Nothing on the menu is particularly creative or inventive and I thought it was a little over priced for a typical omelette or any of their food items. Rather save my money for something more tasty elsewhere.

Damn good. I wasn’t expecting to Like as much as I do. Yeah, they’re a franchise/sort of chain. I think they said there’s 19 of them. Fair enough. I came in kinda cold(literally), thinkin’ soup — in the middle of July of all things. But, they got the soup and then some. The friendly and helpful guy offered me a sample. I tried the lentil soup — a soup of the day and one of their more popular, he told me. Wow. Very flavorful, hearty and satisfying. Plus the completely unsolicited slices of two different kinds of bread — where DID that waistline go — well, it was unnecessary but much appreciated. Another day, I’m not so overheated, but I wander in and sample the gazpacho. Hellooo Gazpacho. Again, Damn Good. I’ve made my own gazpacho, and love that. But I gotta say, it’s outstanding at LPQ. You better like garlic, and/or hate vampires, because you will not be disturbed by any Undead after supping on this cold but sexy treat. Yes, they are SO much more than soup, but for whatever reason, that’s what I’ve been doing here. The chicken soup was naturally flavorful — and you have to pay a bit more for it. But it’s a very good, the broth is perfect. Or, try the minestrone, which I devoured. Again with the hearty, and all I need for a power lunch that’ll give protein and veggies and great taste. The rest of the bakery and the salads look amazing. Another time. I’m happy for now just playing around with these bowls of golden joy. Great to take out, or have a seat at their long tables — inside or al fresco.

Great place! During our stay we’ve visited this place four times for two breakfasts, one breakfast to go and one lunch. We are very spoiled if it comes to breakfast, well food in general, and service, but this place has it all! The food is very tasty and the service is great. The hostess and waiters were very friendly and interested in our visit to LA. Besides the prices are not high at all. The second day I also received a little dessert from the house because we came back. Their open sandwiches, they call them tartines, are beautiful and really tasty! We also ordered a view omelets which are big enough to feel full until the afternoon ;)

I really like this location compared to the one at Fashion Island and the Americana. It’s not cramped, it’s charming and a great place to unwind with a big cup of coffee. When we walked in, our party was immediately greeted by every staff member. We chose a table for breakfast and Christopher came to help us right away. He was super sweet, explaining their specials and helping with recommendations for my sister, who was visiting for the first time. We ordered the Pain Perdu(french toast), the spinach and goat cheese frittata with a side salad, and Petit Dejuener with a hot apple cider. Our food came out surprisingly quick and was delicious. We liberally used the 3 spreads on the table: apricot jam, 4 red fruits jam, and the hazelnut spread. We were on our way to an appointment, otherwise we would have picked up some organic honey and jam from the counter to take home. I’ll definitely be back for the tartines and salads when it’s a bit warmer so I can sit on the patio.

It’s all about ambiance here at Le Pain Quotidien. The interior looks like someone pointed at a Williams Sonoma catalog and said«I want that over here». Located at Pacmutal Building gives this place some character with an lighted outdoor patio shared with Tender Greens. In terms of pastries here, they’re nothing special and you’re paying for the décor here. Great place if you’re trying to impress someone. If not, grab something at Specialty’s a few blocks away.

Friend and I ran here from the library and made it 5 min before closing. My friend asked for ¼ of a loaf of sourdough and got a whole loaf of it and ¼ a loaf of a multi grain!!! Perks of showing up before they close :] They were closing so we couldn’t sit and enjoy the bread but I’m going to be back to snack on the yummy preserves and spreads that they have on the table for everyone to enjoy!
