So this husband and wife team don’t have a business card or even permanent place of business, but you can always find them on the corner next to Short Stop from Wednesday through Sunday, 10pm till 2am. They sell hand made vegeterian pupusas,(either cheese or with bean) for a $ 1. ONEDOLLAR! Echo Park regulars might hang me for dishing out this spot online. If you’re craving meat, there’s a hot dog lady next to them that offers standard bacon wrap hot dog fare. They just debuted a ground meat filled plantain bite, again $ 1. That one’s the only miss of their offering. For dessert, a fried plantain with condensed milk topping($ 2). I mean, geez, only in Echo Park can you score a delicious 3 course meal for $ 7. They’re super friendly and will hook you up with an extra bite if you order a few items. I asked for their business name and all I got back was Loco Pupusa. The owners did give me their cell phone in case you want to call in advance. Wouldn’t drive out of my way for this spot, but if you’re hopping around on Sunset blvd in Echo Park, worth a shot.
