Eh… Just eh. Won’t be coming back. Carne asada tastes like liver. The salsa is okay and you have to ask for limes.

Overpriced and terrible service. I just over paid for mediocre food and the most disgusting agua de horchata I’ve ever had. They wouldn’t exchange the horchata as if it were my fault they have a cheap bitter tasting drink. Finally the person at the counter reluctantly gave me a different drink warning me that she wouldn’t give me a different one if I didn’t like that one. I wasn’t trying to have a taste test of all their drinks! I simply didn’t want to have to drink something that tasted like soap! Needless to say I’m never going back. I never post negative reviews, and I hope that I don’t have to ever again.

Rip Off!!! I just rolled up and thought I’d grab a quick bite… 2 carnitas tacos and 2 beef taquitos = $ 9!!! My regular spot is almost half that. And there are no prices on the board outside so… Nothing to argue. I’m the chuckle head. I tried to make the best of it and took the approach of … I can’t wait to taste what they felt was worth that money… This is going to be a mouthgasm… Not so much. The carnitas tacos were cubed oily pieces of average tasting pork with wilted cilantro and soggy tomato thrown on top. I think I saw on piece of diced onion on there… But that’s questionable. The taquitos were pretty good. That was the one saving grace. Look… I can understand that your connected to a car wash it’s loud … Obnoxious … I’m not complaining and any of that. But when I feel this ripped off… There’s a problem!

I love street food. So this is the closest thing to the Taco push carts you see in Mexico. They do not have a bathroom and they do not always take credit cards but if you are there it is good food.

This place is so STUPIDLYGOOD. The sweet potato tacos and the fish tacos are my favorites as of now, but I’m sure I’ll find more that I love, since their menu is ridiculous. The ONLY thing that I would change about it is their closing time. I think they close at 10pm on weekends and 8pm other nights… Sooo tacos at 1am isn’t an option here, and I really wish it was. Other than that, it’s pretty damn near perfect.

These are my favorite Carne Asada tacos. I love their salsa. I always make sure I’m hungry when I get my car washed.

An adorable courtyard and extra food with their food– Machos distinguishes itself from the dozens of roadside taco places in LA by showing an aesthetic flair and also giving you an enormous amount of food. For eat in customers there are free chips(the really really thick kind), salsa, and a little side salad with your tacos. This is not a «meat and tortilla» only affair either– each taco comes with a flourish of veggies and spices, while not every flavor is to my liking(carnitas YES, so tender I don’t even feel guilty being a bad Jew– that pork is heavenly! Al Pastor– a bit grizzly), these are more«thoughtful» tacos than most. And the waitstaff reflects that. Last time I went they were out of the hibiscus juice I love, and I was finishing my meal in the back courtyard about 10 minutes later when the cook on duty popped out of the kitchen and brought me a fresh water bottle– a nice big free water. He apologized because they were out of the juice! And this isn’t even a place where you tip for table service or anything, he just did it to be nice. I’ve also gotten free samples of different kinds of meat when they are not busy. Oh oh oh and the two best things– the *big cheese quesadilla* is like a fondue pizza. The mini quesadilla is a waste, but the big one is bigger than your face and so thick and gooey, absolutely wonderful. The second best thing? the little garden/courtyard in back, with touches like little succulent plants on the tables. Again, it’s the aesthetic touches you wouldn’t expect that make this place different. But the plants that cover the enclosed area are so thick they’ve become a bird’s paradise– be careful and look around this green utopia, it can get a little«too real» back there– my friend had a bird crap on his face!

Shockingly over the top, delicious carne Asada burrito! The tortilla is soft, wrapped around tasty grilled beef, with refried beans, guacamole, cilantro and a bunch of tasty ingredients. The ensemble of the flavor is enhanced by great seasoning. The red and green salsa surely complemented every bite!

Lamest tacos I’ve had in LA so far. Not cheap and no reason to go here unless everywhere else is closed and you are too lazy to drive farther. Edible in a pinch only.

One of our favorite spots around! The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because the menu with prices the post online is not the same prices when you go in. Other than that great spot!!! Amazing food!

This place is awesome for quick and delicious tacos. Their signature Macho Taco is a definite go-to. Steak(cooked when ordered), beans, guac, tomato, & onion, all in a soft wheat tortilla. All items dine-in come w complimentary tortilla chips(there is a charge on chips for carry out). My other favorite when I’m really hungry is the California burrito. Same awesome steak with all of the usual fillers but also w French fries inside. My friend judged me for ordering this, but I don’t care — it’s sooooo good. The food is always really quick and the service friendly. The car wash next to it is also great, so anytime I’m getting my car washed, there’s no question whether or not I’m getting Machos Tacos.

$ 2.00 Taco It was Pork but it wasn’t the Al Pastor that they said they had. It looked and tasted like chopped meat on Tortillas. It had no flavor, no grease, no pineapple, no cilantro and 3 or 4 pieces of onion on top. No condiment bar. Either. Meh. I did get a few chips and a grilled jalapeño. Hot Sauce was good. Parking is tough. Staff was nice.

My lunch was quick and pleasant enough, and I would give this place 2.5 stars if I could, but half stars are not an option here and 3 seems excessive. The food was nothing special, particularly in a city filled with fantastic taco stands and trucks. The salsa was decent with a not-too-mild kick of spice, but my chicken taco had such little flavor it could have used more salsa options on the side. I’ve been to taco trucks with flavorful meat tacos and unlimited salsa and other extras for cheaper prices, so to get here a near flavorless taco with a small cup of salsa and see a sign stating that if i want more I have to pay doesn’t really work for me. It was perfectly edible, just not something that leaves me wanting to run back for more. That being said, I like it for being a place in my neighborhood where I can easily get an outdoor seat out of the sun and enjoy free wifi for as long as I like. That alone is totally worth a $ 2 taco for me.

I had to really had to think a bit about the rating. I don’t have anything bad to say about the place. It’s a taco place not too much is expected but I love Mexican food. The food is not bad, but it’s not good either. I had a couple of carne asada tacos and a carne asada burrito and the meat didn’t have a lot of flavor, the salsa was bland. So I guess the take away is that it needs some spice.

This is a solid lunch hour spot that is consistent and economical. Parking is sparse, and be sure to have cash, but I highly recommend the Macho burrito, which has steak, guac, sour cream, tomatoes, cilantro, rice and beans. Mmm. The guy who works there is pretty friendly, and the back patio is pretty, it’s a Ramada covered with flowers.

Where is the flavor?! This was my first attempt at eating a Mexican carne asade burrito in Los Angeles… and boy was it disappointing. 2 stars for some decent service. The cashier, she was nice. The cook, not so Much. I simply asked for salsa without looking in my bag and he told me to look in my bag but rudely.(2 stars) Now for the quality and taste of the Carne asada burrito which I added cheese and sour cream and NO Pico De gallo salsa in it or beans and rice. First let me start off that the torrtilla is not«Mexican» I have eaten plenty of flour tortillas in my life since I am half Mexican and which I can taste freshness of homemade flour tortilla! Let me tell you that their flour tortillas are imposters! These rubbery chewy doughy tortillas took away from the flavors of the burrito. The Carne asada itself was literally pieces of steak that was kind of dry. I ate it all because I was very hungry at the time the time so here is 2 stars. All in all, tried this place, left a bad impression on me. I would not go back again. Starbucks is across the street though!

Hungry and passing by the taco stand on my bike, I asked if the beans were vegetarian(ie no lard), the lovely counter gal said yes. AND the rice. When I asked for no cheese SHE suggested guac instead and they dont charge EXTRA! So instantly I love them. The tacos are simple and delightful and they even give you some chips on the side(if you eat there)!!! Im a big fan of sliding crispy chips into a soft shell taco. I didnt even realize it, but they have an adorable patio out back covered in flowers! I mean come on! The random beeping from the car wash next door wasnt my favorite but it couldnt take my affection away from Muchos Tacos. Ill be back. Xo BSTARR

Last time I get food because it is on the way… First off let me say that I am from Texas so I am a little partial when it comes to Mexican food including tacos. I figured California, sharing also with Texas, has just as much ‘cred’, but this taco stand has surely proved this theory wrong. First off, there was a cook/cashier man was very rude I asked him asked a question about the menu, and he walked off in the middle of my question and«handed me off» to the lady cashier who was equally as rude. I finally ordered the«Macho Taco» there was definitely nothing macho about this taco. Thde salsa also tasted like it was a couple hours away from being thrown out. NEVER, EVERAGAIN will I eat at this place. Back to Texas I go for decent Mexican food.

The tacos here are pretty good, but since the owner isn’t around as much(he’s awesome), the other employees aren’t nice. There’s a Mexican guy who works there that is so freaking rude that we simply won’t buy when he’s there. He’s a complete dick. The girl who’s usually there isn’t mean, but she seems incredibly sad all the time. Like she’s been crying for the last hour and a half. She engages just enough to get the order and that’s it. There are times when I’ll say something to her, she’ll do what I asked(like, can I have a glass of water, too?), but she won’t acknowledge that I said anything. The music is at a ridiculous level, too. So we’ve stopped going here.

The little crunchy beef taco was delicious and just right for a snacky meal. I love the flower covered trellis in the back. I’m just wondering about the fact that when I came back home and turned on my iPad, I was offered an opportunity to review the restaurant. Hmmm.

I am definitely a fan. I was here one afternoon eating and there was only one other table with customers(outdoor seating only). Must have been kind of quiet because the man who took my order came over and asked, «More chips?» I said yes. And expressed surprise that he goes an extra mile. «Well, what we can do, we do,» he said. One day a woman on the street stopped me while I was waiting for my food and she said that she’d never eaten here but she had a friend who said the food was so great that he planned to name his firstborn after this place(haha). I did complain recently when the service and the food fell below par when the owner was not around, and guess what? Both the service and the food rate 5 stars IMO! There is nothing better than fast service with a friendly smile, paired with mouthwatering carne asada tacos(my favorite), hot off the grill but not greasy and heaped with fresh guacamole, cilantro, onions, lime… and the best salsa this side of Tijuana. I’m very grateful that Machos Tacos works so hard at pleasing their loyal customers. May they continue to live long and prosper.

I came here in a pinch because I was on a time crunch to catch a show nearby. I was right on the money that this would be the fastest option for a quick dinner. I grabbed a $ 6 veggie burrito which was fully and filling but not lengths better than any other burrito I’ve had in LA. Just a very standard burrito, no frills, with rice, beans, cheese, lettuce and salsa. At $ 6 and for the size, it’s a tad overpriced but I left full so I can’t complain. My main qualm is that as I was ordering, I noticed the B health grade. Given how easy it is to be at an A in the food service industry, I wish there sign was more prominently placed next to the ordering window. I was desperate for a quick dinner so I probably would have ordered there anyways, but I wish the sign wasn’t above the ordering window, somewhat obscured by their menu lights, where I wouldn’t think to look. Overall, in a pinch, it was a fine dinner. I would probably only ever return under similar circumstances. This didn’t feel like the kind of food shack dive one goes out of their way to return to for future trips.

Crunchy potato tacos for the win! El taco crujiente con papas es el mas delicioso taco crujiente y vegetariano que he tenido en Los Angeles. Meaning, they have the best crunchy potato tacos ever. Nowhere else serves them as fresh, crispy and vegetarian! The owner, who is the guy with the tattoos I think, is a nice guy. He hooked me up with horchata. They have a fresh vegetarian burrito comparable to all other taquerias in the area and freshly made chips and good salsa. The chips are free if you eat in. The tables are tucked away from busy Hollywood Blvd transitioning to Prospect Ave(old Hollywood Blvd). Very quiet yet not hidden and on a major street bend. Sort of in a perfect spot, especially if on a bike.
