Favorite place to eat in the food court. I highly recommend the chicken and beef koubedeh combo. Juicy meats and tasty rice. 10⁄10

A few days ago my mom and I ate at Massis Kabob in Century City. The meal was tasty and we shard a bench fireside on the food courtyard. HOWEVER, the meal almost turned tragic. Within minutes of beginning our meal, I was performing the Heimlich maneuver — multiple times. My mom is deathly allergic to fish and she went into anaphylactic shock. Her throat began to close and she began choking. Why? Because the incredibly careless workers at the Massis Kabob used the same tools on their fish grille as the chicken grille. We knew this was the case because actually tasted fish in our chicken. Their careless attention to detail almost killed my mom. We were forced into running to Gelsons market to rush through the isles tearing open a packet of Benadryl before her throat closed. Thankfully she was able to swallow the pills before her airway closed completely. Today We visited the Massis Kaba location in Century City to let the manager know what had occurred. What we encountered was a manager who would not take responsibility for what had occurred, had no empathy, was not apologetic at all, and simply defended his establishment. He insisted that it was simply impossible. We knew better however. I recommend that anybody with ANYTYPEOFALLERGY or a family member with an allergy absolutely NEVEREVEREVER eat here. If they refuse to take responsibility for their poor quality control and respond compassionately to a customer — who almost died right in front of the restaurant — then they should not be allowed to be in business.

I work nearby and I loved this place. Until Monday. I was eating my chicken kebab and thought it tasted not as good as it normally does… I looked and the chicken Was raw in the middle even though it was burned on the outside. Now I’ve been out of work for two days with food poisoning– the worst of my life. Never ever again!!!

This place is so delicious I haven’t tried anything from their menu I haven’t liked. Recommended from a co-worker & i have to say it was a great choice of you want hearty and very healthy middle eastern food! I had the Chicken pita wrap which was so tasty I wanted more. My friend had the Chicken kabob plate which comes with very mouth watery sides and rice. Fresh chopped tomatoes. A yellow looking sauce I don’t know what it’s called by name but it’s very good on the bread. The tangy onion cabbage was my favorite too. Worth trying out for sure. We order take out called in and they had out food ready for us to pick up within 10 min so they are fast! Customer Service ‼

While I have given some of their other locations a try, I just cannot warm up to Massis. The service is lacking, they are just not friendly here, can’t have that. Not a fan of the pickled veggies that come with the sandwiches, pass next time. The chicken as well as beef was dry, overpriced and the portions small. There are so many other, better options at this food court, pass and go to Big Fat Pita right across, they are much nicer and have better food.

For mall food this is pretty excellent. The food is made to order so there is s bit of a wait but it’s worth it. I got the combo of chicken and beef skewers. It came with rice and a side which I opted for the eggplant salad. We also got a side of hummus. Everything was flavorful and we enjoyed thoroughly. Glad you can get a decent and healthy meal at the mall.

One of those reviews were you really miss the 2 ½ star button. I had the Greek salad and the white meat chicken was marginally good. Salad dressing was pretty tasty also but the tzaziki on the side was real average at best, never seen brown tzaziki before. But the salmon kabob simply reeked like fish and wasn’t good. We returned the dish and got a begrudged refund. Avoid the fish people

I’m surprised this place has such horrible reviews, although the majority of them seem to be due to the service. I’ve had great experiences here, although I guess the wait can be a bit especially if you go at peak times. I always get the Koobideh plate so I can’t speak for the people getting no meat or undercooked meat on their shish kabobs. I think it’s a great deal for $ 8 bucks in a FOODCOURT. Food court food is notoriously horrible. For 7 bucks you get two huge koobideh(read seasoned meatball tenders) a huge bed of rice, a grilled tomato, pita, and cucumber tomato salad. One of the best bangs for your buck here, you will not be hungry afterwards.

Ordered chicken shish kabob to-go. I like to keep my reviews simple so here we go: 1. My plate was consisted of: — 90% rice. No exaggeration. I know mediterranean plates usually come with a lot of rice but this was a bit ridiculous. — 4 piece of chicken enough to make up the size of my fist.(My hands are small) — 3 extremely FLAT pieces of pita bread that made up half of a full pita circle. Even three tiny taco tortillas would’ve been better than what I got. — Mediterranean salad drenched in sauce on the side. It was below average but probably the best item out of my entire meal. 2. I asked if they had feta cheese and they told me they would charge me a dollar per 2 tablespoons of cheese. Ok. 3. They charged me for water. Water that they gave in a soda cup, not a water bottle. 4. They threw my to-go order at me when I came by to pick my order up. The only reason this place even receives a star at all is because the chicken was decent. Aside from that, the worst mediterranean restaurant EVER. «The Original Kabobery,» huh? Good joke, guys. Don’t waste your money here.

It’s sad when you had a good experience at a place, whether it be the food, customer service, or if you’re lucky, both, and then a follow-up visit provides pretty much the exact opposite. Catching up with a friend I haven’t had time to see in a while, we wanted some decent food to chat over. We had both been here on separate visits prior, and were craving specifics. Knowing that the order can take a while, we placed an order by phone and were told it would be 10 – 15 minutes. Not an issue. We walk over from work and there wasn’t a line. We told the cashier we had phoned in our orders to be rung up separately, and this you would think would be of no issue. Apparently, it was, as we were rung up for each others order, and when we brought this up, he didn’t really seem to care either way that he had made a mistake. They were also out of one of our orders(partial, but isn’t it always what you’re craving most?), which we understand can happen, but why wouldn’t you tell us that when we had placed the order? Unless they honestly had no idea they were out, but this wasn’t making the experience any better. My chicken kabob wasn’t cooked so thoroughly either, so basically I paid over $ 7 for rice and a few slices of pita(which did taste fine). The shirazi salad, which I normally also enjoy was flooded in olive oil or vinegar, I couldn’t tell you which since it was not edible. Huge contrast compared to my first visit, and this will be my last.

***The Persian kabobs and sides here are fairly decent for a food court eatery(the rice was nice and free flowing while the kabobs were juicy); in addition, prices are very reasonable given the generous portions; unfortunately, service here is very slow and since it appears they make everything as you order, your wait here is going to be noticeably longer than the other order-at-the-counter eateries in this food court*** This food court is located in the Century City Mall(now named Westfield Century); parking here is no longer free unless you are seeing a movie at the AMC theater, which offers free parking for up to 3 hours with validation.

CRAVECRAVECRAVE. i absolutely LOVE this place. You need to get the combo that gives you both the beef and chicken because my God I just can never choose either, must have both! Chicken is moist and not dry at all and the beef is freakin juicy. The rice, they give you enough for like two meals and the hummus is a great choice for a side. I will get moments where i just really need this. I will most likely only go to this place when i’m at the food court here(even though I know that the other food places there are good too). I can’t resist it.

I love Mediterranean food. It’s one of my favorites. Unfortunately, this place has sub-par food. They grill your meat when you order it. I think that in a haste to get our meal out, they uncooked the meat. Tippe and I both had the exact same thing, we both ordered the #22 Sultani Plate. Tippe got mild food poisoning from the meat that she said was chewey and a bit dodgy when she ate it. I also thought that the meat was a slightly under cooked, but with my iron stomach I was fine. Poor Tippe woke up with a stomach ache. They’re located in the upstairs food court of the Century City Mall. You order at their counter and they give you a buzzer that tells you when your food is ready. There’s lots of seating, but you should claim your table as soon as you can.

My Persian colleagues introduced me to this magical restaurant and now I eat here all the time. Most of the meals come with rice, cucumber salad, and pita bread. The Argentinian steak meal comes with thick cut fries with a garlic seasoning(so tasty). The Koobideh beef(my fave) is also freaking phenomenal. This place is great because you can get a full plate of food for under $ 10. The food and service are always consistent. The only downside to this place is that it takes a while to receive your food after you order but luckily they serve beer– so you can sip on one while you wait. I highly recommend this yumminess to anyone with a lower budget, a lot of time, and a large stomach!

I’ll admit it! The food is not perfect. Ask me to compare the Koobideh beef with the best one I have ever had and I will give Massis 2.5 stars. But in a food court, 7.95 $ for a koobideh beef, rice and salad combo, I for sure am not complaining. The Koobideh beef which is a Persian style beef was actually pretty delectable. It was very generously apportioned and you get two skewers of ground beef, nicely seasoned, maybe a little bit too spicy and a tad salty. A lot of rice on the plate as well because that is how you are supposed to have the Koobideh– with the rice. There is also some flat bread on the plate that absorbs all the grease coming out of the beef, not healthy but so delicious. One more item on the dish and that is the salad. salad is ok. It is the traditional Persian salad, again not the best of it. My biggest concern is the way they have decided to plate the dish. By putting the salad right next to the main plate, the sauce of the salad(which is composed of lime and some herbs i assume) is absorbed by the rice making it somewhat soggy and unappetizing. The beef is just a little bit too salty for my taste, but that is the trick most chefs use when making Koobideh to make sure the skewers will hold. Overall, considering the price and the fact it is in a food court, I liked the dish. 3.5 stars would be more fair, I just rounded it up ;)

The line is always long at this fast food place. Ordered beef shish kabob for $ 9.25. It came with rice, pita bread, tomato, and tomato cucumber salad. The beef was kinda bland but it was juicy. 3 stars! Massis Kabob is almost yummylicious!

I am a really big fan of this place. After getting my iPhone 6 in the morning, I was starving and looking for a big bite to eat. After browsing the food court at Westfield, I saw lots of people with these gigantic plates of meat and therefore decided on this place! Food is very good — Not the best kabobs I’ve had(that award goes to DishDash in the Bay Area) but tremendous value. My plate was about 8 dollars, and was really filling! My only complaint is that the pita bread doesn’t come with hummus, so I was awkwardly eating pita with some salsa. Meat was tender, well cooked, and the rice/cucumber salad complemented well. I had the ground beef and chicken, which I would recommend. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m at this mall!
