I stumbled on this dduk café’s website looking for a perfect assorted gift box. I asked for a box filled with a variety of dduk on a budget of $ 40-$ 50, and went to pick it up the next day. Though they typically allot a week’s advance notice for special orders, they were kind enough to accommodate me for next day pick up. The venue itself was a bit difficult to find as I showed up at the Vermont location which is currently remodeling into a korean chicken restaurant. and the actual shop is located at Little Tokyo. Luckily, I showed up at the right place, where they manufacture the dduk in the Vermont location. If you place an order just be sure to ask which location to go to. The dduk itself was far and beyond my expectations. It was almost a 10-lb box of assorted dduk in a beautifully crafted red, white and blue traditional korean box. It fit one layer of dduk just fine, but the lady was super generous and filled it to the brim with two layers, saying it would look more presentable at its max capacity. Then she wrapped it in this divine, fancy gold wrapping scarf. Gorgeous present that ended up tasting as delicious as it looked!

Really pretty space. Girl at the front register was really sweet. I tried the wrong thing on this first visit, sadly, as the kimbap was not flavorful at all. I wish I had tried some of the drinks or a dessert. Stars are for their shop presentation and the staff.

Walked there for bfast on the 1st Tues of Oct — and basically bought a HUGEAMOUNT of artisanal korean rice cakes(dduk)-ranging from mugwort to chestnuts, barley, pumpkin, cactus, black rice, sesame seeds+red bean. Also had Gimbap in house which is basically sushi roll made w egg, carrot, cucumber, picked radish+sauteed+marinated burdock+beef. Everything tasted yummy.

This place is ok. I ordered some dduk trays for Korean Thanksgiving this year and my experience was meh. I ordered some 3 small trays and 1 medium tray of songpyun and injulimi. I checked out their website and called them up to order some the week before, there’s a fancy tray and a regular tray with a $ 5 price difference and when I ordered the regular tray, The most frustrating part was that the morning of pick up, I went at 9:10am because they told me to pick up between 9 and 9:30. It wasn’t ready. They still had other trays ready to go but they told me they weren’t mine and I had to wait, which I did for about half an hour. When I was on the phone with them they had bragged to me they open at 6am so I could anytime and we had decided on 9. It’s big turnoff when you get there at the specified time and they’re not ready as promised. I waited about 30 minutes because they were still packing it up which is REALLY frustrating. If it wasn’t going to be ready why did you say it would be?! The dduk itself tasted ok. Because of the half hour wait despite ordering the weekend prior to, I don’t know if I trust to order with them again.

The dduk looks absolutely beautiful! Very clean and the staff was friendly too. She spoke perfect English and Korean. I found a deal on Groupon so I tried the place out. Taste is average though. Very pricey! I wouln’t go back if I had to pay full price though.

Can’t believe a place can be this bad. The staff was very friendly however nothing was good AND they were out of a lot. No Nutella, no cookies & cream ice cream, even no change for cash customers?! They have samples of their rice cakes however nothing I tried was good. I ended up ordering a pomegranate tea — literally it was drinking Pom syrup. Saying it was egregiously sweet would be an understatement. Really had high hopes for this place as the shop and staff are nice. Truly disappointing.

I’m sorry to give it 1 star because the service was friendly but man the stuff in this place is awful! Everything!!! The tea is syrup with ice not tea and they have just a few thing out and they don’t look or taste good. My son described it as a big chewy dry boogar and he was not wrong. It was gross chewy salty nutty and just plain confused.

Great customer service and they have Nutella mochi which basically makes them the best hands down.

Decided to stop in with a friend visiting from Korea over the weekend. I tried a nutella mochi with the rice punch. My friend had a Korean-style shake, I forget what it’s called. Mochi = yummy. Rice punch = perfect for a hot day. Shake = my friend really enjoyed it; I tried some, and although it was an interesting flavor, I still thought it was good. Oh, and I like the design of the place.

It’s seriously over priced and very limited selection. We have way better, cheaper and tastier rice cake in town. Would never come back. Portion size is pathetic. And don’t try their kimbap. Worst kimbap I’ve ever had and they used old rice.

I really want to like this place based on Unilocal high rating of 4 stars. However, I was so disappointed in the quality of their food. I got couple of variety of rice cakes, but both taste bland. The texture is alright, but it’s tasteless inside out. They are over-priced too. I personally do not recommend this place.

It’s a cute place and hopefully they can work out some of their growing pains. It does feel a little empty/quiet — maybe they can pipe the music through speakers rather than having it play on an iPod speaker next to the register. The worker was friendly. Went on a Saturday around 3 pm and they were already out(or running very low) on most of their dduk selection. We bought the last remaining chocolate mochi(it was alright — the chocolate filling was about the quality of a Skippy chocolate spread) and tried the pb&j mochi(the jelly was kind of sour). Also bought a small cup of songpyun dduk but they must have put it in before it completely cooled as there was a lot of condensation inside the cup. Hopefully they can better gauge their production levels and methods as they gain more experience. Will be back once more to try a few of the items that were sold out.

I totally recommend this shop and plan to come here more often when I visit K-Town or find myself in the area. The store is very cute(packaging, design, desserts, etc.) and I love their desserts. So many intriguing and alluring treats. The desserts are mildly but distinctively sweet and flavored, some with pleasantly complex flavors that meld well together to create ambrosial taste profiles. They also have delicious savory snacks and drinks. I loved the dduk gimbap. If you are vegan like myself, they also will make this selection vegan without any meat or eggs, all veggie-based. And many of the desserts are vegan, by default. It’s still a new place and the mother and daughter team that run this shop are quite affable and warm to customers.

Took my traditional Korean parents for an afternoon tea n coffee date… loved all their offerings not already snatched up in the morning. I had a digestive enzyme tea while they enjoyed their organic coffee with freshly steamed sweet potato dduk, a wonderfully woodsy and earthy tasting mugwort(I think) filled sweet rice cake(similar to mochi but different) with walnut inside and jujube for decoration on top. I loved the white mochi with dark chocolate inside… the sweet rice was almost silken but just enough chewy resistance. The mom of the establishment was a gem and offered us tastings of their homemade barley malt. My mom was delighted with the giftable boxes to fill with dduk selections… we took home yahkshiik and a pumpkin enhanced dduk brick sized. Their designs are darling and would make nice gifts. Look up my 3 photos posted with notes.

This place is super well-decorated and clean! The food and drinks are great, I was hoping they would have some drinks that didn’t have caffeine. They have cute boxes to put the in, and I scored an awesome gift for grandma. The staff was friendly and gave us lot of advice on what to get.

The dduk is yummy. There’s some non-traditional options, but all of it is cute and so yums. My latte had a lovely nutty flavor to it. This would be a great place to study if there were outlets. I’m definitely going to have to go back to try more dduk.

I was intrigued by the concept, so I came to check it out. Never thought«dduk» could be cool, but Meedo pulled it off. Bravo! …they also play the best music in K-Town.

I’m so excited that this place is just a few minutes from my work! I got an assortment if their sweet rice cakes, and skipped on the savory ones for next time. They even have ones that are made in the style of sandwiches(with meat and cheese on the inside!!) the service was spectacular and they even had ample parking right out front(a rarity in Ktown). I wish I was still a student, because this place would be a fantastic study spot. It’s huge, quiet, and clean; and they even serve coffee too! Cannot wait to come back!
