You can find me here… At least at some point while I am out. It’s a great place to stop by before I go home. They have really great drinks and their bar manager just truly knows what to make you when you don’t know what you want. I’ve never eaten food here, so I can’t attest to the fare, but people keep coming back for more, so I am sure it is tasty. Come early and stay late. Oh yeah, they also do brunch and breakfast so heck just go and stay all day. When I walk in the door say hi too!

Came for happy hour drinks and ended up getting drawn into the new Volume IV cocktail menu instead. Great service from both bartenders who knew their craft inside and out. If you need a recommendation, just give them a general criteria and they’ll take care of you. These new cocktails are ~$ 12-$ 14 but pack a punch. We had the special manhattan, spicy tequila cocktail, carrot cocktail, and romance without pressure. I wish I had a picture of the menu to remember exactly what we had since they were so good. Finished off with a shot of fernet branca to start the night as we headed off to dinner. Looking forward to returning and introducing the place to friends while trying the rest of the menu and Old Fashioned flights!

Pretty great place all around! Kind of difficult to find if you haven’t been there before. The front is unmarked but such a cool atmosphere once you’re in. They have great salads, the latkes were good, and their fries are delicious! We flew through 3 orders of fries between 6 people. Now people definitely come here mainly for the drinks. Cool, unique, and intricate cocktails. I had one that was banana, with mezcal, and spicy salt on the rim. So good! The mezcal was perfectly blended in, leaving only the smokey flavor and got rid of the rubbing alcohol that mezca can come with sometimes. Others in the group got the old fashion flights. Which we had never seen before! You can choose 3 or all 6 for the flight and they’re each a full size cocktail. The bartender even«surprised» a friend with various drink concoctions based off criterial she gave him: vodka and spicy. She said she like everyone one of them. Pretty dangerous drinks here! So tasty but strong enough. Come early for a Saturday night. We were there at 7 and it was still fine but once 830 – 9 hit, the standing area by the bar was packed and seat vultures were eyeing our table and chairs. So if you’re in a group get there early!

Cool & unique concept! Only downside was that they get very crowded on weekends. Yummy cocktails and interesting décor.

Phenomenal breakfast/morning vibes– they recently added gourmet coffee & teas to their beverage program & instantlt became my favourite place to stop in for quality caffeine when I’m in the middle of the city way too early in the day. The tunes are smoother than their espresso’s aftertastes– chill old school hip hop and jazzy/bluesy bass flow through the speakers, mixing bold java aromas with sweet nostalgia. The Crew on deck in the morning is energetic & attentive, but not obnoxiously peppy– so they can help you warm up to your day, mentally, physically & spiritually. So glad they open early now! Stop in & take refuge from the storm.

This place was such a rip off. Next door is the Greenspans Grilled Cheese and they recommended that we come to the Melrose Umbrella since we had a large group, that we would be more comfortable and still get to order sandwiches from Greenspans. We ordered a couple drinks and 4 grilled cheese sandwiches and French fries. The bill was $ 105. I felt ripped off, the table was small and we spilled drinks twice and our waitress was no where to be found half the time. The food at Greenspan is great! The service at Melrose Umbrella was terrible!

If you are looking for an awesome date night or a cool atmospheric place to chill with friends, Melrose Umbrella Company has the hook up. Specializing in authentic mixology while crafting their own creative recipes(why not? All them LA foodies… lots of pressure)… This bar will not disappoint. They do take reservations for large parties which is a super plus. Drinks are delicious. Not too strong but spot on(yes, Weho… Strong drinks are nice… But I want to be able to enjoy a drink instead of cringe). They are now open in the morning through the day serving authentic(and happily pretentious) fair trade coffee and tea. This place rocks and is definitely a gem here in the Melrose District. P. S.- order a grilled cheese from next door! They’ll bring it over!

Great on so many levels. Variety of eclectic drinks; something to suit everyone + a funky vintage and laid-back atmosphere. There’s both table service and a bar so it makes it easier for groups. We got some sort of a group set of old-fashioneds(basically six for the price of four) and a few other drinks; everyone was happy and tipsy afterwards. Service was chill and friendly; I could see this place having a bit of an exclusive vibe with territorial patrons but it was anything but. Will definitely return when I’m in the area! We got there more around happy hour and it was fine, but got pretty packed as the night went on. One star docked for parking, price(but that’s what you get in this area), and they were out of amaretto liqueur(and the waitress had never even/tried heard of it?).

It doesn’t get any better than this. There are perhaps other bars in the city that come close, especially with the mixology explosion of the past few years, but this is the gold standard. Every single cocktail is so imaginative, so carefully crafted, it’s really a wonder to behold. The space is very cozy with a non-Hollywood feel, the crowd tends to be not too douchey, you really can’t go wrong here. The best.

You have your regular café and regular bars, however this place gives you the best of both. Whether you’re craving a chai latte or a shot of vodka, you can feel the vibe of a chill café/bar into one. I ordered their chai latte and it was surpisingly very good. I didn’t know what to expect, but when I tried it, it was probably one of the best I’ve had. They also have pastries which looked really good, but I didn’t get a chance to try. I’m curious to know how this place gets at night, I came here mid-day and it was pretty chill. People with laptops, small talk, friendly service. Everyone seemed easy going.

I tried Melrose Umbrella Company earlier this week. One thing I really like about this place is that they give you a complimentary mini cocktail to drink while you look over the menu and decide what you want to order. I think the complimentary cocktail they offer changes daily(or weekly?). When I went, the mini cocktail being offered was the French Prince of Bel Air. It was delicious, with an interesting combination of coffee and watermelon flavors. The longer you drink it, the more the watermelon flavor overpowers the coffee flavor. It sounds weird, but seriously try it. I liked it so much, I ordered it in the regular size. I ordered the Endless Summer as well which was also really good. I also like that you get table service. This is way better than having to stand at the bar and flag down a bartender to order a drink. One thing to note: The front doors of Melrose Umbrella Company do not push nor pull open, they slide open. I stood outside and stared at the doors in bewilderment for like 5 seconds until I figured it out.

Stopped by for a drink to meet someone and loved the vibe! It was just a very easy going place. I sat at the bar, tried a tequila cocktail and left. If i’m ever around the area I would recommend to use this place for a meeting!

Definitely a fun stop for after dinner drinks. The cocktails are interesting and fun. The ambiance is unique and the service was good. We had the«Romance without Pressure» which was delicious and the I Dream of Greenie. Great place if you are looking for a new setting and different culture vibe.

Super cool bar on Melrose — love, love, love the décor! The staff is amazing — friendly, and right on top of it. Drinks are ingenious and delicious — how much more can you ask? It’s my dream to rent the whole place and being a bunch of friends to kick back and enjoy. Really cozy and laid back — if I lived in LA it would be my go to bar for sure.

Came here last night(Monday) to kick off my birthday. Really enjoyed the Romance Without Pressure Really cool vibe and sexy atmosphere. I didn’t hear music even faintly. Interesting… Had NO idea there was food. No one was eating. I would have definitely gotten a small bite because I was starving. There’s always next time! I’ll be back! This was a great first stop to the evening.

Came here for a drink after dinner at Marè. Love that you can sit down and have waiter service without having to buy a bottle. They offer some interesting cocktails and service was friendly. Around 9pm on a Saturday the place was full without being packed. A great place for a drink if you’re in the area.

Very cool vibe. Minus one star only b/c the drink was so little! I drank the whole thing in only a few sips! I had the Melrose Mule which I believe was made for me b/c of the cinnamon/ginger flavor and vodka… great combo btw, & with a little mint garnish to top it off… but there was so much ice in there. It tastes good and leaves you wanting more, sigh… Came here for a bday last night(Thurs night) so it was packed, but I can tell there were plenty of other WeHo regularls as well. The décor is right up my alley with its rustic/vintage look and young handsome bartenders mixing up the concoctions. They have a very well organized and well stocked bar and plenty of seating. Music is all over the place and eclectic which is fun, I think I even heard some salsa music in there perhaps? :) Another cool thing is that it’s secretly connected to a romantic restaurant right next door where you can enjoy a meal outside under twinkly lights. To enter, go through the grilled cheese restaurant all the way to the back and go to the giant brown door. Doesn’t look like much, but open this door and you won’t be disappointed.

We stopped by for happy hour early on a Friday so the place was DEAD. We were literally the only customers there. I immediately took a liking to the ambiance and décor of the place though; it’s trendy but cozy at the same time. From what I hear, it gets busier later in the evenings. We had a few of the food items off of the happy hour menu and a pitcher of the red sangria: –Grilled cheese plate with tomato soup. I’m not much of a soup person but the soup was very tasty. The grilled cheese wasn’t anything to die for; frankly I make better grilled cheese at home. –Steak fries. Really, really good! –Tuna something on sourdough or wheat(I don’t recall). This appetizer dish was really tasty too. Our server/bartender(the guy) was really cool and friendly. I definitely want to come back soon, but maybe later in the evening.

This place is hipster-city, small, and has over-priced drinks so it’s your typical bar for this neighborhood. I had an okay experience here, except for the water not working in one of the restrooms… But this won’t ever be a go-to watering hole for me. I guess if you’re really into thrift store umbrellas, and unfinished wood the décor is cool. Parking is a pain. Old fashioneds are their speciality, and will run you $ 14. It *is* pretty quiet here which is something in the plus column. I think that’s about all the important information a person would need to make an informed decision about coming here, or avoiding it like the 405 at rush hour.
