This place forgot to bring me my condument, I asked for tahini, sumac and lemon and I got none. No utensils, no napkins. Asked for 2 pounds of meat but It did not look like the last order I got. Felt lite. I would have called and asked them to bring what I ordered but it took them more than 1.5 hours to get to me, and I was starving.

Growing up, we always frequented this market which was across the street from my house. With time it’s only gotten better. They always have the freshest fruits, veggies and a wide variety of meat. Customer service and products have always been top notch, I don’t live nearby anymore but I’m here at least once a week.

I live across the street from this place for years, before their big remodel. It’s a charming, impeccably clean, mom and pop shop that has all kinds of goodies and treats. Their butcher is fantastic and they have very low prices on their wonderful marinated meats. I always get my meats, cheese, and olives here, their kidney and beet salad is also VERY good. One of my favorite things about this place is the exotic produce. I’ve found kiwi berries for $ 2 a pack! I don’t know how they keep everything so cheap. I always find some new fruit or vegetable here. I realize the people who run this don’t communicate with non-Armenians very well sometimes but if I smile at them, they always smile at me back. One of my favorite shops!

I have to compliment the owner Sarkis the way this place is run! always nice and clean, items are consistently in stock and reasonably priced! this place is horrible. overpriced, rude service and should you experience buying something old, forget about getting your money back. they’d make a fool out of you instead of protecting their customers. cashier, owner, whoever is affiliated with this business is damn rude, inconsiderate and plain old nasty. please avoid going here. if i could give negative stars i would. one star is too much for this place. horrible horrible horrible!!! be AWARE, shop at your own risk.

Well, it’s been close to 6 months since I moved from the valley to the city. So, I think it’s time I start getting back into the review game and helping out my fellow Los Feliz neighbors… or anyone else for that matter. Back in the old hood, I frequented a local Armenian market for most of my fruits and vegetables. After a few years of shopping there, I developed quite a relationship with them… so much so, that when I find myself in the neighborhood, I usually try to stop by and pick up some stuff. I was essentially looking for the same type of small market. After a few weeks of trying all the local grocery markets located on Hollywood Blvd., I finally settled with Nairi M&D. Located at the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Normandie, Nairi is convenient to me and should be as well to anyone else living in the Los Feliz area. The storefront is kind of pushed back from the street and can be a little hard to see but believe me it’s there. They also have a parking lot around back. This alone should make your shopping experience more enjoyable as parking can be at a premium for a lot of the businesses located on Hollywood Blvd. While Nairi is not necessarily a big place, they carry quite a selection of both fruits, vegetables and meat/poultry. In addition to, they also carry containers upon containers of spices and herbs as well as a varying selection of grains and beans. Their dairy selection is more than adequate and they have a great selection of breads that are made fresh from bakeries around the city… though, I admit, I don’t know how often they re-stock. They have canned foods, as most little markets do, as well as all sorts of ethnic juices. Oh yeah, they also have some nut bins for those that are all about the nuts. Prices are lower than most of the big box markets in the area, like Vons and Ralphs. For reference, I could probably walk out of there with a week and a half worth of fruit and stuff for under 20 bucks. A friendly tip: If you start shopping there and one day you go in and don’t see something you know they usually carry, just ask them if they have any in the back… sometimes they do and just haven’t had a chance to re-stock. What I like about Nairi Meat & Deli, I mean, in addition to their selection of goods, is that the place is always supremely clean, well stocked, organized and the lady behind the counter as well as the workers behind the meat/poultry counter are always friendly and helpful. For the local hipsters, vegetarians and vegans reading this review and wondering whether any of the fruits and vegetables or anything else for that matter, that Nairi carries is of the organic/vegan variety… they’re not. It’s just run of the mill stuff… though fresh and clean as I already stated. You won’t find heirloom tomatoes here either. Just a heads up. If you’re looking for a local market that you can walk to, Nairi Meat & Deli is the jammy. If you’re looking for a spot to get you out of a bind because you forgot to pick something up and your friends will be over in a few minutes, Nairi, again, fits the bill. It’s a solid local spot.

YAYRANDOMARMENIANCANDIES Some were hit, some were miss. The ones with swans on them are awesome. Like super soft heavenly marshmallows. There’s a lot of interesting stuff here. They had like a tub of citric acid… I could use that.
