So its the main festival during nisei week and its easy to get to via the metro rail. To be honest its about the only time i visit because i can usually scare up some food deals at this time. Its also a way to practice some action photography with slow motion taiko drums, and martial arts performances. For those more into traditional staples they showcase bonsai, floral arrangements, and crafts. Seems the animé crowd is playing a larger role here. Usually i head there on the last days and stay late seeing if the food vendors start to discount stuff instead of carrying it home

Since I’m half Japanese, I love coming to any Japanese festival. Having gone to a number of them in the L.A. area, I think this one is the best. First of all the location is in Little Tokyo, so just by location, the venue is perfect here. Second, this is the largest of the Japanese festival in the area. Many vendors are set up and a food court serving cheap Japanese food can be found too. I’ve been to 3 of these and it is redundant, meaning that they seem to be the same every year. Having said that, I will likely attend this one again even though it’s a good drive from Seal Beach.
