This was the best sushi I’ve had in a long time. Hands down. Toro sushi was A-maze-balls and worth the price. Everything we ordered was fresh and the taste and texture were right on the spot. The green tea was also delicious and I highly recommend the pineapple sake. It’s not a strong sake, but it tastes delicious. Overall experience was fantastic as well as the service. Will definitely go back there again. Thank you for helping create this wonderful sushi experience :)

Really fresh delicious fish. Easily 4.5 stars in an area with lots of sushi choices. Inventive rolls. Not a corporate chain. Young hipster crowd that knows its sushi. In the area? Try Nomura.

I really like this place a lot. I’ve been here twice and both times the food has been amazing. The service is great too. Everyone is really nice and they work really fast. Overall I will come again.

This was the second time going to this restaurant, and despite my somewhat low rating I will be back. The thing that I like about this place is that the food is good and the prices are reasonable. I have only been here at lunch time and there is never a wait … score! We probably were a bit too hungry because we ordered way too much food. Many of the meals come with free California rolls and choices of other rolls. I believe that all of the lunch specials come with a miso soup and salad. My favorite is the Sexy roll. It comes wrapped in cucumber, so it is not like a traditional roll. It has crab, tuna and salmon inside, its delicious! My least favorite is the Scallop Crunchy roll. I love scallop rolls, but this one is in a sauce that make the fried scallops soggy, so not very crunchy. It also has crab meat inside. I think I would like it better if it were not for the sauce on the side. Plus I like raw scallops better in a roll. The reason why Nomura Sushi got a lower rating this time is because our sashimi had bones in it :(and the sashimi seemed to be not as fresh as I am used to. I will add the caveat that I have never had an issue with freshness before so I am not sure why this time was different. I will definitely give them another try because the servers are very nice and polite, but if I have issues with the food again I probably will not come back.

My fiancé and I come here once a week for the same thing: 1 veggie tempura roll, 1 cucumber/avocado roll and 1 veggie roll. We usually share a large hot sake. This is a great place for vegetarians. We know the servers by name and we can always count on fresh and delicious veggie sushi.

So I believe I’ve found my new sushi restaurant=) came here for lunch with my brother and we both agreed it is superb. We had the makimoto roll, special eel roll, oiishi roll, and spicy scallop handroll. Everything was so fresh and delicious the way sushi should be!

My favorite sushi restaurant in the Valley. Always my go to and always amazing. The makimoto roll is def my favorite. The lemon roll, rolls Royce, volcano roll, and rolls Royce roll are awesome as well. You HAVE to try the Tuna salsa sashimi. The sauce is ridiculous. PS if you like shiki(back in the day) or iroha… You’ll love this place because the owners here and main chefs are all from there.

Yikes. One of the worst sushi restaurants I’ve visited along Ventura Boulevard. It’s probably on the same level of Kabuki. If California rolls and spicy tuna is your idea of good sushi, you will love this place! I ordered the Nomura sushi plate and the crunch roll, and didn’t enjoy any of them. I even got a tasted of the ahi tuna sushi, and I wanted to spit it out. I didn’t like the texture and the flavor. It did not taste fresh to me. Service is good, but there are so many better options in the area. BESTSUSHI: For traditional sushi and fresh fish, go to Sushi Spot in Tarzana, or any Sugarfish/Nozawa location. For reliable sushi and for sushi newbies, go to Little Izakaya by Katsuya in Sherman Oaks, the original Katsuya in Studio City, Iroha Sushi of Tokyo in Studio City, or Okumura in Encino. For exotic fish, head to Asanebo or Go’s Mart. To me, the best part of the meal was the ice water. I was really thirsty after playing Laser Tag next door.

Had a late night sushi craving & decided to give this place a try. So happy I did! Fish was very fresh & the miso soup was super tasty, one of the better ones I’ve had. We got the baby lobster roll, baked scallop roll and firecracker roll. All were delicious and I’ll definitely be back for more!

Very tasty and the sushi chefs are super fun and friendly. I like this spot for its happy hour. It is a little small so once the dinner crowd gets going it gets a little slow so order rolls ahead of time.

DONOTORDERCHICKEN! 6 of us decided that we are in the mood for sushi baby! And we wanted somewhere close. We got to the place and it was pretty small on the second level of the building. I couldn’t sit inside because it was too dark and small for our group so we sat outside, which was nice. We started with edamame and each ordered a different type of roll which were good, not bad at all, but I needed something with protein being that I have just got out of my training. So me and my friend decided to go with the spicy chicken which comes with rice and salad. Our plates came at the same time and almost INSTANTLY me and my friend jumped out of our seats from the taste, smell, and the AFTERTASTE, I couldn’t handle it at all!!! I regurgitated the bite back on my plate(I have a picture) the waitress comes out(I was near a trash can throwing up) and when my friend explained to the waitress she had the nerve to reply with«oh! It must be the sauce». But no the chicken was sooooo old. do NOT order anything other than simple rolls, I don’t recommend ordering meat there, it is not fresh at all. Very disappointed and I’m still hungry.

This place is great. Everything is prepared very traditionally. I had a friend in town visiting from NY and he told me he wanted really good sushi… So of course I scoured the internet and also asked around with friends. My friend wanted Live Uni. We called and they had it. Everything was great and it really wasnt that expensive. The portions are huge also. If you want Sushi in the valley… I would definitely go here!

Nomura’s food is yummy. I love the sexy roll and the spicy tuna on rice. There is free parking in back, though it can be a bit tricky to find a spot, and the menu is large and offers a wide array of delicacies. My only complaints are that the restaurant is rather small and cramped, and also the last time my girlfriend and I went, it seemed as if the sushi chefs were mocking us, which was rather unpleasant. Nobody wants to sit and eat lunch while being laughed at. We hope that it was an isolated event, and we look forward to being treated a little better when and if we return.

This is the sushi place to be! Tried numerous places and this one never disappoints. Been coming here for about two years and I still love it. Their sushi chefs and staff are incredibly nice and prompt. The place can get super busy from time to time, but it doesn’t cut into your food service. Your more than likely gonna have to wait for a spot to sit longer than a wait for your food. I’ve tried over half the menu and each order is unique and tasty. There is outdoor seating, but I definitely suggest the bar seating to interact with your own sushi chef. If you’re a fan of sushi you should at least try it once!

Four words… BESTSCALLOPCUTROLL… There is no other place that has the quality of Scallop sushi at this price out of ALL the sushi places I’ve EVER been to. You have to try their Scallop sushi before you die. It is that good. I also LOVE the way they serve their Chirashi. Super delish! This is one of my local favorite go to places in this side of town.
