Went to Hollywood square to just explore the city with a friend and we got hungry and luckily we found número uno pizza. I love numero una pizza it just has great flavor and the thickens makes it really incredible. Anytime that I done hear I will most definitely come here again for some food.

Really good thick pizza. Not to costly but really good! Me and my one and only ate here after a rainy walk up and down Hollywood Blvd.

I ate here looking for a quick bite and left mostly unsatisfied, although it was relatively fast. Pizza slices were pretty large, but for $ 5 each and with the small amount of toppings on each, they felt expensive for what you got. Neither of the pizza slices I tried had very much sauce on their crust at all. The pizza might have been too fresh: the cheese was barely melted and the veggies were significantly underdone. I tried the Hawaiian and the veggie. The diced onion on the Hawaiian was clumped into a pile. The veggie consisted of super thin mushroom, crunchy green pepper, and a whole lot of black olives.

The pizza itself is not what I would define as «good.» It reminds me of frozen pizza you get at the supermarket. It’s one of those places you just end up because it’s there and you happen to require sustenance. It’s open late night. It’s cheap. It’s next to Playhouse. It’s a place you can sit to rest your sore footsies after dancing in stilettos. It’s food. They have a restroom. It’s cash only(crap). That’s pretty much it.

I’m going to bust this out at 8:55AM Friday morning because I’m juust hungover enough to still wanna give this lifesaver of a pizza joint 5 stars. Don’t worry, I just popped a Tylenol and Women’s One-a-Day. We coo. I prioritize event planning, Anatomy, makeup and hair before eating so I swooped down to Playhouse with posse in tow and had one hell of a ghetto-fab night sans dinner. Well, unless you count vodka + Redbulls, Patron, Amerettos, and aloe Calpico as dinner. I was starving. To the right of Playhouse is this more retro-glam diner that I considered grabbing a $ 8.50 grilled cheese from before getting in the club, but that was a tiny window of time. Plus, it didn’t even look open. Not a server in sight. Get in, rage it out for a few hours, and then my friend offers to buy me a pizza because he knows how hungry I am. Menu is pretty simple. There’s a base price depending on type and size of pizza you want, extra cost per topping. I love me some mushroom and sausage and went for the 7″ thick crust. He said that one took a little longer, ’bout 10 minutes. Fine by me, limo didn’t leave for another 20 minutes. I’ll skip over the friend-finding, alleged bitch-punching, retroactive coatcheck and tab closing mini-chaos to when they finally gave me that little $ 6.31 box of awesome. It was perfect. Crispy on the outside, hot and soft on the inside, cheese melted to just the right degree. I was too hungry and buzzed to give you much feedback about the toppings. Delicious? Definitely. I walked over and gave the pizza guy $ 2 tip in sincere gratuity. Thanks Numero Uno! You certainly are.

I love me some Numero Uno. I’m a fan! Have been since — I don’t know — the early eighties? Thick sweet crust, tomatoes, tons of cheese. I just get sausage and pineapple and it suits me fine. The house salad is huge and good with romaine and iceberg lettuce, red marinated onions, tomato, cucumbers, carrots & mozzarella. The salads last two of us two days. The owner is a sweet old guy who will walk your order out to the car if you pull up in the red zone out front and call from your cell a la’ CPK. There’s a younger guy weeknights who’s also nice as can be and will spend all night going over the menu with you and giving you recommendations if you can’t make up your mind without the slightest bit of annoyance after the third phone call. They also have burgers, chili burgers, hot dogs, sub sandwiches, clubs and BLTs, tuna melts — Srsly, how often can you find a decent delivered burger for less than $ 5? Their Romano puffs are to die for. Hide them from everyone else. Little(not so little really) fried cheese balls soaked in garlic oil. Sprinkled generously with Parmesan cheese. Dear God. OK fIne. And they have chicken wings. I’m trying those tonight. And… chocolate cake. But this is for two of us and it’s going to last all weekend OK yo? Stop lookin’ at me like that.

Hm. Yeah, this pizza is not«Numero Uno.» I came here with Mark S. and friends on a Friday night. Hardly anyone was in there. Uh? Okay… We all took a seat. I sat at a spot near the wall, and I looked down to my right, and I saw a used fork. Lying there. Accumulating dirt. Uh? Okay… Well, what can you expect? It’s a pretty random pizza place on the street. Anyways, Mark and I ordered a medium thick-crust vegetarian pizza. After what seemed like FOREVER(15 minutes), we finally got our pizza! It was weird, because there wasn’t even any other people ordering! When we finally get our pizza(which was a total rip-off of about $ 18), the first thing I noticed was that it was FILLEDTOTHEMAX with cheese! Cheese and. vegetables? If I didn’t tell you it was a veggie pizza, you wouldn’t have known, because there were hardly any vegetables, or anything as a matter of fact! The only thing I liked about the pizza was the huge crust. Yup. If not for the semi-decent crust, then this poor pizza place would only get a 1. Yeah. Not comin’ back, unless I’m in the area and super, ravenously hungry.

This place is the bomb. After going to Kress and we were hungry. We sat down and ordered a whole pizza with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. We also ordered mozarella sticks. Those are the bomb. We got our food and were finished in about half an hour. The food was great. The total came out to be about $ 30. I would come here again. The crust had some sweet taste too it. It was awesome.

FYI this is the new location of the Numero Uno that used to be at across the street from Hollywood High School at 1618 N Highland Ave. Keep your eyes peeled when looking for it while driving down Hollywood Blvd. It has a huge Elvis statute in front of it. I love this place. At times I will come up from Long Beach just to go to this Numero Uno because I absolutely love the pizza and the bread puffs! They have lunch specials ranging from a personal pan(thick crust) +salad for $ 5.99 to a meatball sandwich + salad for like a buck more. The menu prices are a bit expensive for other items, but they are worth it. I have also gotten the chicken parmigiana and though it may not look like a lot of food it sure fills you up. The BEST thing about this place is the man that looks like Vincent Price(I think he owns it or something because he’s always working). He is totally nice! **If going to park on the street in front MAKESUREYOUHAVECHANGEOR A CREDITCARD! The new electronic meters suck and do not take dollar bills. It is very hard to ask the shops for quarters as they tend to get wiped out quickly for people asking for meter change***
